A Turf War. Chapter 4.

Steven gets up from his bed and stretches, some of his bone cracking as he does various types of stretches. The smell of his sweat isn't pleasant but Steven bares through his terrible smelling surroundings for now, as he currently has no way of getting rid of the stench.

As Steven makes it to the desk in the room, he looks back to the basket sitting near the circle of stones and his face becomes full of pain and flashbacks of the first day he arrived flash through his mind.

When opening the basket, Steven had found some well-preserved meat that had a yellowish tint to it. Believing that his father would most likely not poison him or at least tell him about the dangers of the meat if there is any, Steven grabbed a handful of meat and shoved it into his mouth like a glutton.

After several seconds of fully chewing the meat and finally swallowing it, Steven falls to the floor paralyzed and horrified. His body spasmed several times while paralyzed and after a minute of laying face down on the damp wooden floor, Steven finally regains the ability to move his stiff muscles.

After the traumatizing experience of being paralyzed by the yellow meat, Steven quickly put the cover on top of the basket and has avoided going even near it since then. At least he wasn't hungry anymore.

Steven decides to get adventurous and he wanders out of the small shack to find out what type of area was surrounding him.

Outside, rain slightly pelted ontop Steven's head and a light salty breeze blew past his face. A large canopy of trees formed above Steven's location and about 50' in front of him was a large drop-off.

Upon observing the drop-off further, Steven found that it was a cliff that dared everyone to approach it and jump into the rampaging sea below.

Steven was not dumb enough to try it and he turned around and went back to the shack.

Grabbing his weapon, Steven went behind the lonely shack and saw the depths of a forest. It was very dark and roars of monsters in the distance can be heard frequently, yet Steven had no shred of fear of these roars.

After a full day of exploring, Steven had found nothing too extraordinary within the forest and went to return home. On the way back, Steven found several bushes with berries growing from them and Steven harvested these berries. Storing the berries in the bag, Steven will not eat them until he consults the book for any useful information that it may pertain about the berries of this world.

When Steven made it back to his shack after an exhausting day of exploration, he looked over that cliff and saw a violet and dark red aura surrounding the sun as it set.

Watching the beautiful happening, Steven realized that this sunset will signify the end of his first day in a new world and the beginning of a long adventure that will probably be filled with many hardships. This doesn't bother the man at all, actually, he is fairly excited to explore every nook and cranny of his homeworld.

First thing is first though, Steven wants to find his father as soon as possible. To make this dream a reality, Steven must find the 'Third Fleet Master' first.

Full of determination, Steven walked into the shack and began planning a training regimen for the next few days and then fell asleep on the dusty and stiff bed.

The next day, Steven started his regimen and read the book his father left behind for the whole day. Unfortunately, a day was not long enough for Steven to even get through a quarter of the book but he did read some extremely useful information.

The most important information he discovered was how to use the Scoutflies, how to use the hidden contraptions in his clothing set, what berries are edible and what berries aren't, and finally, the attack strategies of the Charge Blade.

Before Steven even knew it, the sun had set, night had passed and it was the morning of the 3rd day in the new world. Steven is surprised that he doesn't feel tired at all yet he stayed up all night reading the book. Wanting to actually move around a bit after sitting down and reading for a whole day, Steven gets up from his bed and stretches while grunting loudly.

There is no chair to accompany the lonely desk so Steven sat on his bed and read the book. He remembers walking outside and training his Charge Blade attacks all day and he actually became fairly proficient with the weapon in sword and shield mode.

The main problem he came across with the complex weapon was how to charge and change the Impact Phials, and how to switch it into axe mode. Yes, the sword and shield combo known as the Charge Blade has an axe mode where the shield with sharp edges become the head of the axe and the sword becomes the hilt.

The complexity of the Charge Blade still baffles Steven but he is satisfied with just sword and shield mode for now.

After the day of rigorous training, Steven finally felt fatigued and fell asleep rather quickly. The next morning is where we are currently at, with Steven complaining about the must coming from his body due to training.

Finishing his flashback, Steven goes and picks up his Charge Blade in which his father named 'Magda Manus' for reasons unknown to Steven.

He then holds the weapon in his left hand and puts his right hand into his pouch. After a few seconds of rummaging around in the pouch, Steven pulls out a few blue colored berries and quickly shoves them in his mouth.

Steven's body lets out a soft blue glow and his stomach is satisfied for now. Steven approaches his door and prepares himself for another day of training the way of the Charge Blade, until...

RRRRROOOOOOOAAAAARRRRRR!!!

The roar causes Steven to stumble for a second and everything inside of the shack shakes violently until the end of the roar.

'That sounds really close... I should go find out what that is and attack it before it attacks me.'

Steven hurriedly makes his way out of the house and begins to sprint at breakneck speeds towards the origin of the sound.

Not wanting to be stuck on the ground when meeting this creature, the use one of his contraptions given to him by his father is required.

With the extension of his left hand, the three-pronged hook location at Steven's wrist shoots out like a bullet and firmly implants itself into a tree. Steven then presses a button located on his palm and jumps in the air at the same time.

ZZZZZZZZ!

The sound of the metal cable grinding with the metal gear inside of his gauntlet pierces his ears and his body is flown towards where the grappling hook planted itself. It is not even a few seconds before Steven flies over 20' into the air and onto a thick branch of a tree.

Steven releases the hook from the hole in the wood it caused and then proceeds onwards by jumping from tree branch to tree branch. If a tree branch is too far for Steven to jump, he nimbly shoots out his grappling hook again and repeats the stunningly fast process.

It is not long before Steven covers a great amount of ground and discovers what the cause of the roar was. A massive beast that has pinkish skin and purple/grey fur is rampaging through the forest and seems to be chasing after something.

Steven recognizes this beast from his father's book and its species name is 'Anjanath'.

It looks similar to a dinosaur from Steven's past world called a T-Rex. It has two large legs that are made for running shorts distances at high speeds and has two little arms used for grabbing but are usually not very effective.

Its head is massive with a long row of large teeth. Steven can only imagine how strong the bite power of this monster is. Steven's body is about the size of its head.

Wondering what the vicious beast is chasing, Steven decides to follow it at a safe distance in the trees. After a minute of traveling through the forest and nearly losing sight of the Anjanath several times, Steven finally manages to see what the large beast is chasing as it is done with running.

Electricity fills the air and the crackles of lightning can be heard as the Tobi Kadachi that was running away from the Anjanath has had enough and decides to confront it.

CRACKLE CRACKLE~

RRRROOOOOOAAARRRR~

The sound of the lightning coming from the Tobi Kadachi body and the roar of the Anjanath deafen Steven and he is forced to use his hands to cover his ears. The two monsters circle each other for a second and Steven immediately realizes what is going on.

'This isn't the Anjanath hunting something... This is a turf war between two apex predators!'
