People kept coming. So many teachers! How can they work in this condition? I kept asking myself that. Healthy people can’t understand the suffering of disabled people. Being able to work is everything in our country, and people think you’re lazy or just trying to get money for nothing—they should feel what these people feel! A healer sees it all. I listened to surface thoughts in the office and they called every sub in!
Then, I heard a policeman looking for me. Mom’s got a warrant. When I leave school, they’ll want to take me back there!
Ben had been enjoying sitting in my 2nd period chemistry class. Knew I was up here healing folks. Even explained things to my teacher, who was also okay with me doing this! He’ll catch me up. They’re all just watching videos about all the action in the UN. Ben answered a lot of questions.
3rd Period was AP Literature class, Ben handed in my essay on Louisa May Alcott’s Work, and took notes for me. Mostly, they talked about SETI and didn’t do much. I tried to go there and a teacher went into a diabetic coma. I cured him.
I decided not to leave early, and stayed until people stopped coming. Ms. Shirley gave me a pass so I could go eat with Ben.
Hardly tasted the food! Pizza was my fave meal here, with a nice green salad. People kept asking me to heal cuts and bruises. One boy had gotten in a fight. I think I saved him from a blood clot in his brain! His buddy let him sleep on his shoulder. Scared to go to the office. I waved hygiene so there weren’t any signs that he had trouble. Black and Hispanic kids have troubles I don’t.
Pas kept teaching me things as I ate. Every student who came to me let me touch their heads, so I got to see a lot of normal points while healing a headache or tummy ache, or curing allergies. One girl had a peanut allergy, and a friend ate a candy bar with nuts. After my healing, she shared it and no reaction. That’s life-saving! She knew several people with that problem, different foods. I cured ‘em all.
When 4th Period AP Psychology came, I got to spend the whole class there. We were studying learning in children and Ben compared Zheien children, which even kept the Marsh Twins on the back row awake. Hadn’t seen those boys alert since we studied twins.
Mary the Office Assistant ran in! “Molly, they called an ambulance for Mr. Harris, but he says he can’t affort one! You gotta help him!”
I didn’t wait for a pass. Waved up a map and found him, and ported. He looked sick and had a hand on his stomach. One of the teachers I didn’t know. The overweight Black man had a head of gray curls in a short Afro. “Dere she is! My daughta’ says you can heal. You healed Merle’s ankle.” He breathed with his mouth wide. Very dark skin. It had a grayish cast I knew shouldn’t be there.
“Let me have a look. I’ll touch your head.” Cold sweat ran down it. Pain in his chest nearly floored me! Pas brought his ennead. I checked once and felt urgent about starting.
I sang a silly weight loss jingle and my face burned. But when the white light faded, I had to wave a new suit on him!
He looked at his legs. His arms. His flat belly. Felt his thinner face! “Oh, ho! You did a miracle! I feel like a 20 year ol’! Why’m I so sleepy?”
“I had to heal a lot on you! Let’s go to the Nurses’ Office. Send the ambulance back, Folks!” We were in the Business Ed typing room, set up with a receptionist’s desk, a secretarial pool, and a podium. He was leaning against it.
I waved for a green swirl that left him on a cot and me standing beside it.
“How’d ya do dat?”
I pressed a green cube into his hand and let the aandat out. “Now you can do it, too! If you port home, it’ll fix your house up if you want.”

“That sho’ is fine, mighty fine! Thanks, Molly.” He mumbled something else, then fell asleep. I squeezed his hand.
Five of his students stood at the door. “He’ll be okay! Gotta sleep after a healing like that!” I should be sleepy after healing so many difficult folks.
I looked at my watch and it was 2:28 pm. Ben took my hand. “Go to the ship. I will explain our position to the officers.” They came past the students, and I did.
I waved up a green swirl and stepped through. The familiar sensation of warmth with a bit of resistance, and a cool breeze was different. People just stepped back as I came. I smiled. So many I wanted to talk to!
Pirad met me. “Molly, I wish to collect your memories. Will you marry Binneas now so I can help you with clones? They are badly needed in the Rainbow Unwell Colonies. The Alb Council met this morning and every world that comes to Alb will have one.”
I did a victory dance! “Whoo! Think of how many slaves we can heal and send home!” People smiled, all over the ship. Except for a few Elshars. Slavers! I rushed out there.
“I need a TS Inspector!”
A young Elshar in a black robe ported in front of me. I bowed to him from the waist and held my head so my hair drooped left. A sign of respect. Hoped my accent was okay. “Inspector, I wish TS to watch many men’s trades! See my memories!”
He seemed shocked that I knew Elshar customs, and spoke it! “I am Andrisch, and I will hear your evidence.” I expected a man with dark curls and a face like a road-map. This man was young, had light brown curls, but a scowl that could freeze a river. “I will help, if I can.”
I showed him all the reports Ry’nao and I watched of Zheien’s memories, of slavers. Ryee ran to me and put a hand on my head, and I remembered details I would never remember on my own! Over my years of running Rainbow, I saw a lot of slavers. Many of ‘em already went to Ih Esta, which shocked me! Doug’s crooked stepfather put terminals in him and his mother, and in Ron, one of the slaves Mom adopted in the other future, and he was my right-hand man in Rainbow! Doug and Ron stood beside me, and Jen hugged Doug’s arm.
M’Naga came out in his cobalt blue Master Trader’s robes and helped Ron and Doug to add slavers they knew. Wow! I sent some healing because this was very hard on Andrisch. Also for Doug and Ron.
Ten other black robes and a white robed fella came out of a ship. Andrisch has his own staff, hand-picked by Berto. He started to block my healing, but Ryee told him it was okay. I saw the TS fella he spoke with on Elshar Mashai, an Elder from Elshar, Kirin Fah. Felt his shock that I could see him! Then, Ryee saw that I could, and that amazed him!
We gave reports and blue portals went off like fireworks on Earth! But many ported to that ship. One was Harry Melon, posing as a lawyer, my mom’s lawyer. I fumed. I saw Patasia and ported her here to Derees’ room, her husband. Pas ported in there to see her. Good! That fella in white got busy vaporizing people in there! Harry had a red mark. You cause a death, you get the death penalty. His clothes ported to her and a whole bunch of terminals. Pas had to do a terminal removal on her, oh, my! His three boys cried, but they have a Zheien lady to help them. Derees ran with Pas! He’s sobbing!
He ran her to Pirad’s Lab. Now that she’s here, he can reclone Derees and Patasia as Elders, and I asked him to declare them and everyone on this ship who’s not a slaver one, too.
All his telepathy made me shake, but I have to last. Pas got in my Diplomatic Link and gave me healing. Oh, another Pas, there are many of his clones and this one stays in the Link doing healing.
But, someone else came to me. What species is he? Black fur, pointy ears like a cat and paws? Neither Andrisch nor Ryee saw him. He put a paw on my head and I saw a lot more slavers. He helped me rat ‘em out!
Then, he held a purple cylinder and I lived my whole life to it in about 5 minutes! And, recloned me! Gave me Chor telepathy, strong as 100 Zbbat and fine control over it, too!
He vanished, and I finished up. Had to sing healing on Andrisch! But, he bowed. “Thank you, Queen Molly! Perhaps Bi Keras will rethink their presence on Earth, and many other slaver networks.” His eyes turned very light.
I bowed in the same way, but let my red curls fall left as much as collar-length hair can. “I am happy to help you in any way I can, for the well of the Alliance and Unified!”
Elshars don’t say goodbye, they port.
Pas ran out and put a hand on my forehead. Paled.
Pirad came and added his hand. “Oh, Pinda already recloned her. Pas, do not speak of it.” He had his blocks up so no one heard except Ryee. He was dying to ask about Pinda who is a Councillor, so I told him. Ryee paled, too.
