Chapter 4

Jeriah woke up from the same dream he had yesterday. Him running from the village while it burned, because of his own fear. He did as he had with all other feeling similiar to this one, shoved it down were it wouldn't matter, it was all just complicated bullshit, from his cynical viewpoint.

Once again those feeling were shoved aside and he got up and dressed himself before setting out, not really all that worried about how he looked. It also didn't help that his new roomate had apparently gotten up before him and already had the bathroom, and with his somewhat limited experience with girls, Jeriah knew enough that she would most likely be a while.

Jeriah wasn't really sure how everyone else was up so early, he was only up due to his having to wake up every morning exactly at dawn to work. He wondered how everyone else did it. They couldn't possibly all be Farmers, hard workers, or simple village folk that were used to this kind of thing as he was. Deciding that there were more important things to do Jeriah let the train of thought pass by focused more on what his first class would be.

Looking down at the schedule in his hands, he saw that is was as follows: Basic Weaponry, his first class as well as the class in which he would be tought the basics of whatever weapon he chose to use. Adventuring 101, a class usually for third year students who had access to the system, was his second class and the class that would teach him important skills and or tactics that any adventurer may need and information on how to use the system, of course usually what you were taught in this class depended on vocation track you were going into. When a student reaches second year they got to choose a vocation track, based off of what kind of job and or class they wanted to get in the future. Lunch was inbetween this class and the next. The next class was history, a self explanatory class that tought you the basic history of the kingdom and the world. His final class was Free period, a class where all of the first year students were put in as to help them acclimate to the new enviornment of the academy, and to make friends, Jeriah felt that he wouldn't like that class, given his current mindset of 'why aren't I dead and gone with everything else I valued, I hope they enjoy all the company I plan on sending them' he probably wouldn't get along with others all that well. All Jeriah could do was hope that they ignored him, and if everything went as he hoped it would, then he would keep to himself.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Once Jeriah got to his first class, which happened to be at a sparring field on the academy's campus, he saw that he was actually a bit late, and lined up with the rest of his class and waited for whoever the teacher was to get there and begin.

The class as a whole only had to wait a few minutes before a little girl, shorter than most if not all of them were arrived and stood in front of the class. The only reason she most likely wasn't confused as a student was that she was wearing the standard teacher uniform. After a few seconds of her standing in front of the class, she continued on with the monotone stare she had given all of them and spoke in a monotone voice that was more likely to fit a ten year old, assuming that this teacher wasnt actually a ten year old as her looks suggested.

"Hello, to answer some of the questions you all might have, no I'm not ten years old, yes I'm the weaponry teacher, and yes I don't like it when people ask a bunch of personal questions. All of you need to choose a weapon or weapons, off of the weapon racks off to the side of the field, remember this choice isn't to be taken lightly, as that will be the weapon or one of them, depending on how many you can or intend to master, that you will be using for the rest of your life, you all are here because you children have shown that you have at least some potential as a warrior, otherwise you would have been sent to basic control over mana as your first class, so quickly choose, i'm not a patient person."

Jeriah then walked over to the Academy lent weapons that he'd be using in this class. He then briefly considered what weapon he wanted to use before walking over to two identicle single handed axes, and weighing them in his hands before deciding that he would use these. They would do, all he wanted was to carve flesh from his enemies, and send them to the afterlife, where he silently thought that whatever he wanted dead would be better of there anyway.
