"There you went" said Mellie as she sidled up to Mary on her walk to the fairy circle. Mary had been intentionally avoiding her so she could get passed this awkward situation. The night that her life had ended, the man in Mellie's arms had watched her get brutalized to death. There was nothing he could have done to stop it, but it was a humiliating experience. She wanted to put her past behind her. And here it came crashing down from a flying pirate ship.
"Hey Mellie." she responded, dully. "What's up?" and then Mellie introduced her to Jackson like she had never known him carnally. "Nice to meet you." she said, half hoping he didn't remember her, half hoping if he did he would act like he didn't. She should have been dead by all rights as it was anyways. But considering he was the one driving the flying ship, he would know Mellie's capabilities.
"Nice to meet you." He responded, nodding at her and proceeded to the front to lead the group. She let out a huge breath she didn't know she had been holding, and continued on with the walk as Mellie prattled on about fairies. As her story wore on, Mellie lost her train of thought as she saw the man who killed the first slave owner covered in the womans blood. She ran up and grabbed the handsome elf who had taken out Ellen Landry and pulled them off to the side. Mellie eyed the man up and down. Mary quirked a brow as she continued past, still keeping an eye on her friend.
"Give me your shirt" Mellie instructed the man, arm outstretched.
Seduction lvl 11!
The man seemed flustered and used but complied to her request as they continued walking. Mellie changed his shirt with test of wills to a nicer fabric with no blood stains. "You shouldn't have to wear stains of that woman. You're free now. Here's a clean shirt. Hope that helps." she said smiling at the man, handing his shirt back. He had thought the women would demand his services, and he was ready and willing for anyone who would promise him freedom. He looked at the black haired woman. Seduction lvl 12! And got on his knee and did the thing.
The man halted the group and folded his fist across his chest. "Mellie. I Erik Estridal, pledge my life, love and fealty to you. I vow to copulate and serve you in this life and the next."
Mellie, hearing this a few times from her friends still not understanding the cultural and emotional signifance to this didn't happen to notice the whole of what he had proposed, and nodded as she had done for her previous pledges. This is how Mellie accidentally got her first Consort. One simple sentence. One simple nod. A guy she didn't even know.
Title Gained! Married!
Boon Gained! Double Regeneration! Boon Evolution! Boon Gained! Ageless!
Title Gained! Queen! Boon Gained! Delegate!
"I'm Married?!" Mellie said shocked, the whole crowd staring at the spectacle. "What does this mean Queen? You didn't say anything about politics in your little kneeley thing! Dude, I don't even know you!" she ranted, fearful of her blunder. Erik was an attractive man. Shit, he was an elf. But she had just wanted to give him a shirt. Just a clean shirt. "So, what does Marriage actually mean here. Like am I your property now. Can I not be property?" she said looking at Erik. Seduction lvl 13! Cheese Slap lvl 3! "Shit.... Sorry..."
"Mary! Help!" Mary raced over to Mellies side as everyone continued toward the circle. Mellie explained what happened to Mary as Jackson returned to her. She had strong feelings for Jackson and was completely mortified. The young man who had just married her quietly listened, confused. He followed behind the group wondering what the problem was. The woman had saved him from prostitution, saved his entire clan from slavery and was the manablood. He had fallen from his princedom when he was forced into the slave class, but upon return to Reglar with such a wife he would inherit the crown and class from his father, King Consort. He knew she was the queen of his people. They all had felt it, and most blindly followed her not knowing why. Whatever the problem with this woman was, he would help fix it. No woman had ever shone for him like she had. She even slapped him across the face with a slice of hard cheese. It actually hurt a little. He rubbed his jaw smiling as he walked along, following his beautiful new wife. He had always planned on snagging a wife this way. He never believed it would work on such an impressive woman. He tried to control his glee as he watched her body bounce climbing through the forest into the ruins.

Jackson knew this kind of thing would happen eventually. Mellie was a beautiful woman and that was the proposal he should have given her originally if he had been as bold as the elf, Erik. He wanted to build up love and trust before marriage. The elf who had claimed her first knew what he was doing. A manablood wife was the key to unlocking the future of any nation. The kind of power and freedom her kind brought about was worth the risk she brought to their race. Jackson wanted a wife one day but he still was wary of the forever committment. Upon hearing about Mellie's accidental proposal, he made himself clear how he felt. Jackson laughed out loud, grabbed Mellie, pulled her towards him and kissed her passionately, grabbing her ass in front of everyone. Letting her go he chuckled, "Congratulations", grabbed her hand and continued walking with her. He would be her husband too one day, when he was ready. He needed to deal with his family stuff first.
Mellie had no idea what was going on. She was married, about to be a queen, and everyone acted like they expected this kind of shit. She just went with it trolling after Jackson, looking at Mary questioningly. Mary began, "The married title gives double regeneration. I've had like three husbands. Two killed. One eaten." Mellie looked horrified. "Not by me! Bandits and monsters." she explained.
Mellie looked around, noticing the ruined city that looked a lot like the one the old church was in. She also noticed that they had a lot less people with them now then they did when they arrived. They had lost some elves to slavers who grabbed stragglers and ones who had wandered to aleviate themselves. They lost a few to spiders to enjoy a life of breeding in the new dungeon. The new Weaver Queens' eggs had just hatched and she was ready for some fresh breeding stock. If the elves hadn't betrayed each other the slavers wouldn't have came at all, nor would it keep townsfolk from closing in on thier location.
The group approached a circle of flowers, beautiful and sparkling, like stars on the petals. It was large but could only fit about 50 of them at a time. There were bout 150 of them left after they started their journey through the forest. Mellie's fairies came to life and cast Call Swarm. Five fairies emerged from a small crack in the center of the hole and shot over to Ari.
Upon seeing the elderly Tamer fairy mount her Racoon familiar, Ari curtsied and said, "Greetings your Majesty. May your moons be full and your pods be joyous." And to Ari's joy Queen Idori responded in kind, "May your moons be full and your pods be joyous as well, your highness." as she cursied. "What brings you here to my humble circle Queen of Rainbows?" she asked.
Curious as to what this rainbows thing was, but also in quite a hurry to escape she quickly explained, "The elves behind me need escape. We are only two in our swarm but we wish to flee. This land is not kind to us. "
The Tamer Queen nodded, "We have ruled these woods through the demon, demonkin and now the elven purges. Less and less fairy pods survive birth on human waters not due to monsters but these magically talentless humans. I agree, my sister. Let us all leave this land. Join my pod. I will teach you the ways of the tamer and you will have a friend too."
Ariana admitted, "I am bound to this manablood, as is my swarm. I don't wish to leave her side as long as I can."
"Oh my poor poor child. What has the world done to you." said Queen Idori as she explained, "You can teleport to her without a spell, like a summon. All you have to do is will it and as long as you're bonded you'll be at her side. How else were you planning on starting a swarm?" she asked the new Queen. "We can talk of this at our new home. Come child, Let's begin moving our friends to a safer life. I feel presences descend upon us."
Ariana watched as the Queen and her four attendants summoned natural fairy magic to create a fairy portal to Reglar. Each casting sent roughly fifty people to Reglar but the fairies needed a half hour of time between portals. Ariana and Callum helped in the second circle summon, both getting a grasp on their natural mana, and shortening the casting cooldown time to twenty minutes instead of thirty.
The trouble started of course as the third summon was about to start. Everyone that was left was standing in the middle of the circle, waiting for the teleport to activate. This was when Jenny burst through the trees outrunning the townspeople that were chasing her. Arrows began in the direction of the flower circle, injuring and killing the remaining elves and fairies, racing to complete the teleport. Two of the fairies fell as Ariana and Callum went to take their place to finish the spell. Ariana pushed the fairies into the circle as the portal began to close and the townspeople surrounded them.
"Ari!" Mellie cried as her surroundings went black, and she and the others who survived were standing a mountain clearing no pursuers in tow.
