Chapter 43 - Planning for the Future

Chapter 43 - Planning for the Future

Kelsey felt her feelings of rage melt away as it was replaced with a deep sadness for her role in the mage's death. She wanted to simply sit down and take a moment to center herself, but she had other things to attend to.

The first thing she did was look around the battlefield and force all of the various creations scattered in the sand to dissipate back into mana. There was nothing she would be able to do about the warzone that they created, but she could at least erase some of the evidence.

As she finished, she spotted Gwen standing on a glassy dune about 50 meters away, watching Kelsey with genuine concern on her face.

“I’m okay, I’ll be right there.” Kelsey yelled. Walking over to the large scythe that was still partially covered in sandy debris, she knelt down and stored it in her dimension before making her way towards Gwen. She had no intention of using the scythe, but wanted to keep it as a memento.

“Everything go alright with your fight?” Kelsey asked as she approached.

“Yeah, she was full on insane. Talked about skinning me alive and whatnot, so I ended it quickly and watched your fight.” she said nonchalantly. “More importantly, are you okay? You seemed pretty murdery there for a minute.” she added, clearly concerned.

“I’ll be okay... I just feel guilty about the spatial mage's death... I didn't take Kaydeth seriously. I was treating all of this like some big joke. Now, someone is dead because of it..." Kelsey said, trying to stop herself from tearing up.

Kelsey stopped speaking, deciding to take in a deep breath and focus on controlling her emotions.

“As far as I’m concerned, I am the reason he is dead... Any idea what his name was?” Kelsey asked as she looked into the distance in the direction of the spatial mage’s body.

“Yeah, Richard. We were never super close, but I knew him.” Gwen answered carefully.

“Thank you. Any way you can get a message to his family? They should know what happened.” Kelsey said resolutely.

“Yeah. With Kaydeth out of the picture, I can make contact with a few people from the guild and find out where he lived.” she said with a bit of forced cheer.

As Gwen finished, it looked like she wanted to say more, but decided against it.

“Gwen, say it. If we’re going to be teammates, you can say anything to me. I’ll listen.” Kelsey said gently.

“You know his death isn’t really your fault, right? You know that the only person to blame is that blind folded freak.” Gwen said somewhat angrily. "It's not like you were the one that killed him. You weren't the one that stuck a scythe in his back. I get it, you didn't put him down or take the fight seriously when you had a chance, but that does not make you responsible for Richard's death. He was an Immortal too. It's not like he was completely helpless."

Kelsey stared at Gwen for a few long seconds, considering her words before shaking her head in disagreement. "He was strong Gwen... Really strong... If I had taken that strength seriously, Richard would still be alive right now."

"Maybe. Maybe. You had no way of knowing just how strong he really was. I didn't even know he was that strong. I mean, I knew Kaydeth was a lot stronger than me. I've been on the receiving end of that strength more times than I'd like, but who could have imagined he was that powerful?" Gwen said argumentatively.

Kelsey took a deep breath and calmed herself. "I know, Gwen. But if I’ve learned anything in my life it's that you can’t logic away guilt. I will live the rest of my life knowing that if I had just taken that fight slightly more seriously, I could have saved a life.”

“Yeah… That's unfortunately true.” Gwen said dejectedly.

Kelsey knew that logically; Richard's death wasn't entirely her fault. She certainly played some part in it, but she wasn't the one that actually did the deed. It didn't matter. She was going to feel guilty for the rest of her Immortal life, and she would be damn sure to never let something like that happen again.

“Let's get out of here and back up to our friends.” Kelsey said as she began walking towards the door.

“Hey Kel, you may want to change your clothes first.” Gwen said as she eyed Kelsey’s chest and legs.

Kelsey looked down at herself and saw that the entire front and back of her tunic was destroyed and was hanging uselessly across her waist from when she was stabbed. Her torso was covered in so much dried blood that she hadn’t even noticed it. She was also completely pants-less from when Kaydeth's scythe had cut her in twain.

She quickly used her manipulation and creation to clean herself up and recreate her clothes. She could have used destruction to deal with the blood, but she still wasn’t comfortable with the skill yet, and while she didn't think she would destroy herself, why take the risk?

After finishing getting cleaned up, Kelsey and Gwen began making their way towards the entrance to the floor. Instead of flying, they chose to walk so that Kelsey could have some time to clear her head before meeting with the rest of their group.

A few minutes after their walk began, Gwen nudged Kelsey in the side. “I think I’m going to try to take control of The Librarians.”

“Really? Even after everything that happened?” Kelsey asked.

“Yeah. I think I can turn it into a force for good. Work to balance out some of the damage they caused. Now that Kaydeth is dead, I’m far and away the strongest member of the guild. I think they’ll follow me.” she said, getting more excited as she continued. “We can really live up to the name of The Librarians. The Guild was supposedly founded with the intention of being a repository of knowledge. The idea being that the members of the Guild would be the keepers of the knowledge and they would spread that knowledge to those who needed it or deserved it. The Guild has lost its way, but I think I can help it find it again.” she finished passionately. "Maybe even give up the information brokering part."

Kelsey looked down at Gwen who was a few centimeters shorter than her and smiled warmly. “That sounds like a good idea. Where is the Guild headquarters?”

“It’s in Saldeya, south of here. We’re pretty close to Cardona’s southern border now so getting to the Guild should only take around two and a half weeks.” Gwen answered quickly.

“That's not so bad. How long will you be gone?” Kelsey asked, keeping her tone neutral. She was trying to hide it, but she immediately hated the idea. She had just met Gwen and didn't want to see her leave yet.

Thankfully, she didn't have to hide her feelings for long.

“You mean how long will we be gone? You’re coming with me.” Gwen said earnestly as she looked into Kelsey’s eyes.

“What? Really? You want me to come with you?” Kelsey asked, feeling a bit taken aback.

Gwen smiled mischievously, “Yeah. I do.”

Kelsey considered the offer for a few seconds before answering. “I’d love to. I only have one condition.”

“Anything.” Gwen said confidently.

“I want you to move the headquarters to my new compound in the Mageblood forest. It’s kind of far from civilization, but if this is going to be a Guild that’s supposed to be a repository of knowledge, I think it should be somewhere remote.” Kelsey paused, working up the courage to say the next part. “Plus, selfishly, I want your headquarters to be close to my home base so we can see each other more often.”

Gwen smiled at Kelsey knowingly. “Deal. I think it would be a good idea to move the headquarters anyways. Last time I was at the headquarters it looked like Saldeya was getting primed for war with their neighbors over in El’Thena.”

“El’Thena? Where is that?” Kelsey asked curiously. One of the things she hadn’t done during her isolation was learn anything else about Anoura. It was something she had been meaning to do, but the secrets of magic and the soul had been higher on her list of concerns.

“It's the Elven kingdom. They’re quite reclusive, but they have a huge swath of territory to the west of all the other nations. Their land alone is nearly equivalent to all four of the other nations combined.” Gwen answered.

“Oh wow, I’ve met a couple elves since coming here. I had no idea they had an entire nation to themselves.” Kelsey said excitedly. “Do they let humans into their nation?”

“Yeah, of course. They’re super welcoming. They just don’t travel outside their own lands very often.” Gwen answered cheerfully, the anger and frustration from earlier having already melted away.

“Well, that sounds like another place I need to add to my list.”

"Definitely. A massive swath of their massive nation is one large, undisturbed forest. The trees are hundreds of meters tall, like the Mageblood trees. It's said that standing in the forest at noon is nearly the same as at midnight thanks to the dense foliage." Gwen said wistfully. "I've never been to the forest, only to the cities surrounding it. I really want to see it one day though."

The next couple of hours Kelsey and Gwen continued talking about the guild and her plans to restore it, maintaining a relatively leisurely pace towards the door. Eventually, the duo arrived at the location where Kelsey had placed the spatial mage’s body, a few meters from the floor's entrance.

“We should bury him.” Kelsey said as she bent down and started rummaging through the man’s pockets, looking for anything the family may want.

A few seconds later, she found a small bronze pocket watch. With a picture of what was, presumably, the man’s wife and daughter inside.

Kelsey started to tear up when she saw this, but she pulled herself together and handed the small trinket to Gwen who quickly placed it in her pocket.

After giving the watch to Gwen, Kelsey got to work creating a nice grave site for Richard. It wasn't an ideal burial location, but it would at least be better than leaving him to rot.

After she finished burying the body, she turned to Gwen. “Are you sure you want me to come with you? Being around me could be somewhat dangerous.”

“Yes, Kel, I’m sure. Plus, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the people around me aren’t exactly safe either. I just saw your fight. I know no matter what happens, if you’re there with me I’ll be fine... I've been meaning to ask, what the hell are you anyways?” Gwen asked teasingly.

Kelsey chuckled, “Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of time to talk about it while we’re on the road. I’ll tell you everything.”

"I'll hold you to that."

They made their way back up to the base camp and found Owen, Lisa, and Gregory sitting by the fire chatting happily.

Walking towards the campfire, Kelsey noticed that in her domain was a small contingent of heavily armored people making their way towards them. Seeing who was at the front made her a bit nervous, but she chose to ignore it. Not like she could react anyways; she didn't exactly want to give away the fact that she had such a large domain.

“Hey guys, we’re back.” Kelsey said as her and Gwen sat down on a log opposite the rest of the group. She gave them a brief rundown of everything that happened, leaving out everything about the fight itself.

Gwen was sitting next to Kelsey, and she chimed in once Kelsey had finished her explanation. “I’m going to take leadership of The Librarians now that Kaydeth is out of the picture and turn it back into a source of knowledge and information. Make it a force for good, ya know. I’ve asked Kelsey to come with me to help.”

“And I agreed.” Kelsey added. “We’re going to go to Saldeya, take control of the Guild, and then move them out to the Mageblood forest... I’ve been meaning to talk to you all about that actually. I’ve already invited Thadius to move him and his family out there, but I’d like to extend the offer to you as well. My plan is to turn that area around my cabin into something of a training ground and small community where people can return to when they aren’t adventuring.”

No one in her party had said anything yet; choosing instead to listen with their full attention. As Kelsey asked them about the Mageblood forest, she could see the gears turning in their head as they considered her offer.

“We understand, Kel.” Owen said a bit somberly. “We’ll think about moving out there, it would be nice to have a place where we could train and practice without worrying about being spied on by people in a city.”

"Yeah. I think it could be fun to live out there. Any other plans for the new community, or just relaxing and training?" Lisa asked.

Kelsey grinned. "I have a few, but that will have to wait until I get back. It all hinges on something else working first."

Lisa eyed Kelsey suspiciously. "Why do I have a sneaking suspicion you're up to something."

"Well, probably because I am." Kesley said, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly.

“When are ye leaving?” Gregory asked.

“In three days, I think. May as well get moving, not like we can’t come back anytime we want anyways.” Kelsey said.

She could see that this disappointed her friends, so she quickly interjected with what she wanted to do before she left.

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

“Hey, I’m not going to leave you without a few gifts though. Gregory, how much did you make as a Guild Master?”

“1,200 gold per year, give or take.” he answered.

“Great, I’ll pay you double that to stick with Owen and Lisa until they’ve caught up to your level so you three can level together.” she said before walking into her tent, closing the flap and summoning the required gold.

She stepped back outside and threw it at Gregory who caught it and put it away quickly.

“Now, for all three of you, I’m leaving you with these books.” Kelsey then summoned all of the minor creation and manipulation books she had purchased at Thadius’ recommendation. “Read these, do the best you can to learn the skills. It should only be three weeks or so until I return, don’t cross over to Gold until then. I have a plan to give your classes a bit of extra oomph. The same also applies to you Gregory, don’t let your secondary class cross to Gold if it hasn’t already.”

All three of them nodded in understanding.

“For the next few days, we’re going to work on mana control. Thadius and I did some testing during our downtime when he was here. We learned that teaching someone to accurately determine their mana usage was possible. By the time he left, he was within a single percentage or two of the real number based on my estimations.”

Kelsey had to cut her conversation short as their unexpected guests arrived. All three of her companion’s eyes widened as they saw who was behind her. These were the visitors Kelsey had seen coming in her domain.

“Kelsey, I would like to speak with you.” a commanding voice said from behind her.

Kelsey turned around and saw Leon Garley standing with four people flanking him that were all wearing the red accented steel armor common amongst the Crimson Lions. The woman who Kelsey had met on the ice floor was one of the four people behind him.

“Hey Leon,” Kelsey said as she waved casually in his direction. “How are you doing?”

“Not well. I was just wondering if you could tell us anything about the murders that occurred earlier in The Burrow.” he said stoically.

“Wait, you guys call this floor called The Burrow? Huh, never knew.” she said before answering the question. “Yeah, I know all about them, why?”

“Well, some witnesses nearby said that you walked up, spoke to the people involved, and then walked away. A few minutes later, three of them murdered the other four.” he answered matter-of-factly.

“That would be an accurate summary of events I suppose. Well, see, it all started…” and then Kelsey continued giving a general overview of the events that transpired since Owen’s kidnapping. Leaving out the private stuff about Gwen, Abby, traveling to Neim, and the specifics of how the fights happened.

“Well, that’s odd. A bit over nine months ago you claimed to not be an Immortal. Now, suddenly I see you again and you’ve killed at least two immortals, one who by all reports was an Otherworlder over level 300? That is most unusual.” he said suspiciously.

“A lot has happened, alright?” she said a bit testily. “Listen, I don’t answer to you or anyone else here. This is a dungeon, and I don’t need to explain myself to a group of wannabe detectives. All you need to know is that the people responsible for those four deaths are already dealt with.”

“We’re just trying to keep people safe Ms. Kain. It is the responsibility of Immortal Guilds like mine to keep tabs on people, such as yourself, who could potentially be a danger to society. By your own accounts, in the past week over 10 people have been killed in connection with you and your party.” He said sternly.

Hearing Leon call her a potential danger to society made Kelsey’s anger flare up once again. “Like I already said; The people responsible are already dead. We didn’t do anything wrong; we were just defending ourselves from people who threatened us. I have spent the last year of my life doing nothing but working to become stronger so I could protect people. I am the furthest possible thing from a danger to society and don’t you dare imply that ever again.” Kelsey said, her voice venomous and angry.

Kelsey’s heart was thundering in her chest as she waited for Leon to respond.

Leon sighed softly, “I apologize Ms. Kain. I did not intend to imply that you were a danger. Merely that you have the potential to become one. Kelsey, I saw your fight against the boy wielding the scythe. I have watched you closely every moment you have been inside The Trial since the day we first spoke. I know exactly what you are capable of. I know exactly where your motivations lay. I saw your actions against the King of the North. I am well aware that you are not currently a threat, and likely will never be one.”

“You can see through the enchantments on the floors?” Kelsey asked, her anger fading and being replaced by worry.

She felt like the world was falling out from under her. She had tried so hard to maintain secrecy and there was someone that was watching her the entire time. Why the hell didn’t my Senses of the Magus warn me someone was watching my fight with Kaydeth? That feels like something that should have triggered the skill.

“I can. But I am well aware how important you feel your privacy is. I have not even shared what I’ve seen with the members of The Crimson Lions." Leon said honestly.

“How can I trust that?” Kelsey asked defensively. Plus, he didn't say he hadn't shared my secrets with anyone, just not with members of the guild.

“I am not your enemy Ms. Kain. I stand by my invitation that I extended to you. I would be honored to call you a friend and companion. With you by our side, we would be able to make real progress towards the completion of this dungeon.” He said simply.

“Well, if you’ve been able to see me this whole time, why did you come here and ask questions that you knew the answers to?” Kelsey asked suspiciously.

“I may be the leader of the Crimson Lions, but my word should not be taken as truth for that fact alone. My Lieutenants here wanted to hear your group’s story so they could determine your innocence themselves.” He said as he turned towards the four members behind him.

“What do you say? Now that you’ve heard their story firsthand, do you believe them to be the aggressors, or the victims?” Leon asked his subordinates.

Three of the four members all answered that they believed her group to be the victims. There was one hold out however, the woman Kelsey had met on the Yeti floor.

She looked Kelsey square in the eyes. “Aggressor.”

This caused Gwen to finally lose her cool. “Screw you! Those lunatics were assassins that wanted to kill us! How can you possibly think we were the aggressors!? She shouted.

The woman’s face flashed with anger, and Kelsey’s danger sense spiked, as the woman started to take a step forward, clearly with the intention to attack Gwen, before Leon's palm slammed firmly into her chest, caving in the protective plate covering.

The woman stumbled back while clutching at her chest and began gasping for breath. The blow had clearly done even more damage to her than it did to her armor.

Leon turned to her before speaking. “What are you doing Lieutenant!? You were going to attack her based on what? Your gut instinct that she was guilty? The fact that she shouted at you? That is unacceptable. I am incredibly tired of your antics and your attitude. You are relieved of duty as of this moment. You are banned from the Crimson Lions, and as far as I’m concerned, you are banned from The Trial. I will ensure that not a single soul in this dungeon works with you.”

The woman didn’t say a word as she stared at Kelsey and Gwen. Once she recovered somewhat, she slowly stripped off her armor piece by piece and threw it to the ground below. She then threw her sword on the ground next to her armor.

Without the armor the woman looked significantly less official, but possibly even more threatening. She had messy short brown hair and brown eyes that were filled with rage. Without her amor, she looked almost feral.

Without taking her eyes off Gwen, the woman said “I know that you are a member of The Librarians. I know that all of this was just a set up so you could take over leadership of the Guild. You may have the rest of them fooled, but not me. You better sleep with one eye open, little birdy.”

After the woman finished her sentence, Kelsey’s danger sense spiked again, and she saw a rush of mana fill the woman’s body as she erupted into a radiant light and moved towards Gwen again.

Kelsey started moving instantly, but Leon moved faster. Kelsey watched as Leon stepped in front of Gwen, his arm extended, and a barrage of molten earthen spikes appeared in front of him before exploding from his outstretched palm and colliding squarely with the light woman's chest.

As the spikes of lava struck her chest, she was sent barreling backwards until she collided with the wall behind her. The impact caused a spider web of cracks to explode along the wall, a small vibration making its way through the ground.

“Leave, now. Never show your face around me again!” Leon shouted as the woman shakily got back on her feet. “I promise, doing so is in your best interests.”

“Leon, I am one of you. Why are you taking their side!?” she screamed in a fit of rage.

Leon shouted, his voice filled with anger, "Lydia, you don't know how lucky you really are. You are only alive right now because of my intervention. Leave!" As he finished his sentence, he allowed mana to seep from his body and the ground around them started to tremble, not with the violent shocks of an earthquake, but with a small vibration, signaling the release of his previously restrained power.

The raw mana he released was incredible, and everyone in the vicinity stared at the fountain of power that he was releasing. Everyone except Kelsey, who still had her eyes locked on Lydia, waiting for a single wrong move, a single misstep.

Without saying another word, Lydia took one last look at the group before spitting on the ground, clutching her chest, and limping away towards the exit of the dungeon.

After she left, Leon reigned in his mana and looked at Kelsey. “Thank you for not killing her.” he said gratefully.

As Leon spoke to her, Kelsey snapped back to reality and noticed what she had been doing. She looked down at her hand and saw that it was pulsing with the bright blue color of pure mana poised for Destruction. She had been moments away from erasing the woman from existence without a second thought. Good, maybe I’m finally learning...

Kelsey let go of her destruction mana and looked at Leon. “Thank you for stopping her. I appreciate it.”

“Yeah thanks, I didn’t really want to fight a second crazy person today.” Gwen said appreciatively.

Leon nodded his head in acknowledgement of their thanks. “I have been noticing her acting strangely for the past few months. I am not surprised that something like this happened, I’m simply glad that no one was hurt. My Guild will be keeping a very close eye on her, do not worry yourselves.”

Leon turned back to his followers and dismissed them before pivoting back towards Kelsey’s group. “I have taken enough of your day, please, enjoy the rest of your time in The Trial. I look forward to your continued progress.” he said as he bowed to the entire group.

Before leaving Leon leaned in and whispered in Kelsey’s ear. “I am not the only one interested in your progress. I recommend you be mindful of how you act when not under my protection.” He paused briefly before continuing in an even more serious manner. “When you get to Saldeya, go to the City of Ice and ask to speak with the Winter Saint. You two will have much to discuss.”

Kelsey didn’t trust herself to speak, so she simply nodded, showing that she understood.

After seeing her nod, Leon backed away, bowed again, and excused himself.

A few moments went by as everyone processed what happened, until Kelsey turned around and looked at them. “Well, that was kinda crazy, right?”

The group spent the next few minutes discussing what happened. They all asked what Leon had said to her, but she chose to keep that particular piece of information to herself while she digested what it might mean.

Owen and Lisa were both somehow most interested in the fact that they just saw the legendary Leon Garley in action. Gregory was focusing on Lydia and what her plans might be.

Both Kelsey and Gwen were completely unbothered by Lydia. “She isn’t really a threat to either of us, not if Leon could handle her the way he did.” Gwen said as she snacked on some fruit she brought from Neim. “Plus, she won’t be a threat to the three of you as long as you’re in The Trial. All you have to do is get stronger than her before you leave; should be easy.”

“Yeah, my biggest worry is Leon himself. He seems like an alright guy, but I don’t love the fact that there is someone out there that knows my secrets.” Kelsey said contemplatively. “By the way, Gregory, I’d like to abolish the oaths, is that possible?

Gregory’s eyes opened slightly in surprise. “Yes, all you need to do is think about it and the Oaths will be released. May I ask why?”

“I have been around you all long enough that I trust you completely. Plus, I realized that if you did tell someone about everything, the oaths would kill you. I wouldn’t even think about killing Leon if he blabbed my secrets to the world, why would I want my best friends to die for it? Doesn’t make sense.” she said seriously. "Plus, Gwen knows, and I wasn't planning on making her swear. May as well absolve you all of it. At least I'm an Immortal now, so I won't be completely defenseless."

Focusing on herself, Kelsey willed the Oaths to be nullified.

Nothing happened as she tried, and she didn’t see her friends react in any way. “Did it work?” she asked Gregory.

His eyes lost focus as he opened his system. “Ye. I have no Oaths related to you anymore. Thank you, Kelsey.”

Everyone gave Kelsey a quick round of appreciation which she accepted in dramatic fashion before getting serious.

“Okay, we have work to do. Gwen don’t think you’re getting out of this training either. We have three days, let's make the most of them.”

The next three days were spent in the privacy of Kelsey’s tent while she slowly taught her friends how to accurately determine their mana expenditure. The process was quite simple for Owen, Gregory, and Gwen who all already had some form of manipulation and creation skills. Lisa on the other hand was forced to focus on learning one of the Minor Creation general skills before she could begin training. With Kelsey having already learned water creation manually, she was able to help Lisa learn the skill in slightly under two days. Once she had, the other three were able to help bring Lisa up to speed and start training her themselves.

Gwen though was the biggest surprise. She was a Warrior primary class with a metal mage secondary class. She was an incredibly fast learner like Thadius had been and Kelsey was constantly impressed with how quickly she was able to learn new magical concepts. By the end of the three days, she was even better than Thadius had been at estimating her own mana usage.

While her friends were training, Kelsey spent most of her time down in the dungeon practicing with her destruction magic. The results were mixed. There was no doubt that the skill was useful, but it was extremely costly. Kelsey found that destroying matter or energy took roughly double as much mana as it would take to create the material. If she spent 5,000 mana making a steel lance, and then 2,000 mana launching it. It would take over 10,000 mana to destroy that same lance. There was some additional cost due to the relative velocity of the object, but Kelsey wasn’t sure of the specifics.

On the third day after the fight with Kaydeth, Kelsey and Gwen were standing by the exit of the tent saying their goodbyes.

“I’ll be back in a few weeks. Get as close to Gold without going over as you can, spend the rest of the time focusing all your energy on learning every single manipulation and creation skill you can. When I get back, we’re going to try something that has the potential to make you much stronger if it works out.” Kelsey said as she was leaving.

“It was really awesome getting to know you guys. I hope to see you again soon, come visit me in the Mageblood forest when you guys get some time. I plan on having a whole headquarters built so you’ll always have a place to stay.” Gwen said as she smiled and hugged Owen, Lisa, and Gregory.

“Absolutely, we’ll come visit as soon as we cross over to Gold. Owen and I want to take a week or two off after all this training we’ve been doing, and it would be nice to explore the forest. I’ve heard it’s quite gorgeous.” Lisa said.

“Aye, I be interested in visiting as well. Two Immortals working together to create a brand-new settlement is something I be very excited to see.” Gregory said, smiling broadly at them.

“Now get out of here, and get everything done as soon as you can, we’re itching to hit Gold nearly as much as the two of you are itching to jump each other’s bones the moment you walk out of here.” Lisa said teasingly.

Kelsey and Gwen looked at each other and grinned. “See you in a few weeks!” Kelsey said to her friends as she started climbing the ladder.

Guess it's time to do some sightseeing in Saldeya.
