After half an hour of healing and rest, Kelsey sat up, feeling much better now that her stab wounds were closed. She found that her internals rearranging themselves during the healing process was not pleasant. I think I’m going to try to avoid getting stabbed next time.
She pulled the rabbit back out of storage and began inspecting it, starting with the horn.
[Rabbit’s Horn] - Can be used in some alchemical recipes
I don’t know what I expected, she thought grumpily. I wish Identify would tell something a bit more useful.
She then noticed with her Manasight that there was a small pool of mana forming in the rabbit’s chest. Creating a small telekinetic blade, she opened the rabbit’s chest. Inside was a small white core that was giving off a constant stream of gray wind mana.
[Horned Rabbit Core] - Can be used to make wind based magical tools.
Fascinating. Not that I know what to do with it.
Letting out an exasperated sigh, Kelsey moved the rabbit and core into her dimensional storage and began looking for a nice spot to go through her notifications. Eventually she found a rock outcropping at the edge of the river that looked like the perfect place to sit down and enjoy the scenery. She took off her shoes, transferring them to her storage and walked out to the stone ledge, and let her feet dangle in the water. Then, she opened her notifications.
*ding* You have defeated a [Horned Rabbit - lvl 12]. For defeating an enemy at a higher
level than your own, additional experience is given.

*ding* Spatial Mage has reached level 4 - 10 free stat points have been awarded

The moment she accepted her notifications, Kelsey felt an incredible rush of power unlike anything she had felt before as her stats all nearly tripled. She felt her muscles flex and contract, the world around her became clearer, and the information from her sphere became easier to process.
I could easily get addicted to this feeling… She thought as she looked down her body that was now filled with energy. It took all of her effort just to settle down and read through the rest of her messages. She decided it was probably best to activate Mediation in order to calm herself. She found that since leveling the skill up, Meditation was significantly easier to activate, she could even move around slightly with it activated.

Okay, yeah, this is definitely addicting. I guess this also means that using my skills in dangerous situations improves them more quickly. I only used my teleport twice and it leveled up. Looking through her attributes she quickly decided how to distribute her free points. She wanted to keep her Intelligence and Wisdom as her highest attributes, but figured health and stamina were nearly as important, so she put points into both Vitality and Endurance. Strength and Dexterity were nice to have, but she saw herself as a mage first and foremost. Not that she was going to be willing to let them fall too far behind. No matter how good her magic was, these monsters were fast, and her body needed to be able to keep up.

She gaped at her new stats. Gaining +5 to every stat for a total of 30 points from my Mageblood body, and then another 50 stat points per level from my class means that I gained 320 stat points from that single fight. I wish I knew what the Mageblood Body was; I know that whatever system this is said that it remade my body but it still feels normal, other than the superhuman strength of course. Are there other bodies out there? Do most people have their bodies remade? It was a pretty painful process; I can’t imagine people clamoring to experience it. The rewards certainly seem worth it, though, not that I would want my child or loved one going through pain like that, even if it gave them extra attributes.
She sat by the river for several more minutes, enjoying the beautiful landscape around her before deciding it was time to move along. As she stood up, she immediately felt the difference in her new attributes. She felt stronger, faster, more nimble, and, perhaps most importantly, her mind was sharper. It seems that increasing mental stats really does have an effect on my mind. I don’t feel like a different person or anything but I’m definitely thinking faster. She eyed her surroundings, searching for anything out of the ordinary. Though she had been sitting by the river for only half an hour, animals and monsters alike needed water, so staying right next to a water source made her wary. She summoned her shoes and put them on before following the river south, away from the mountain.
Kelsey traveled for several days, continually following the river south. She reasoned that people tend to build near water and maybe she would be able to find civilization by following its path. During her journey, she stopped to cook the rabbit over a makeshift fire, using her Telekinesis to skin and butcher the animal. Each night, she slept in a Mageblood tree, her enhanced attributes and skills making both the climb and general traversal through the forest much easier than before. Along the way, she encountered more horned rabbits and thorn wolves, which seemed to dominate the local monster ecosystem. She also spotted other creatures such as a [Flame Fox] and a [Stonetusk Boar], alongside normal, non elemental animals like deer, fish, boars, wolves, foxes, and various insects. She discovered that the regular creatures were level zero and offered no experience, though they served well as a source of food.

At one point, she noticed a pack of the thorn wolves chasing down one of the horned rabbits. Despite her new skills, she didn’t feel confident enough to confront one of the wolves, as merely looking at them still sent a chill down her spine.
During her journey, she leveled up a few more times by hunting every horned rabbit she could find, with their levels ranging from 10 to 20, they continued to get easier as Kelsey increased her own level. She also dedicated time to practicing her skills. Her class skills progressed quickly, though they mostly stalled around level 6. The only skills she managed to advance beyond this barrier were Lesser Telekinesis and Spatial Perception, thanks to their frequent use.
She didn’t feel like she understood the other skills well enough to improve them yet, which is why they had stopped progressing after every fight. She looked through the notifications she had received over the past few days as she sat high up in a Mageblood tree on the fourth morning after her fight with the [Horned Rabbit] and she felt proud of all that she had accomplished. She was getting much stronger and it was no longer nearly as terrifying to see one of the Thorn Wolves in her path. She wasn’t quite ready yet, but she was becoming more confident in her ability to fight one soon.

Spatial Perception quickly became her favorite class skill, even over her other abilities. At level 7, she could perceive everything in her surroundings within a 70-meter sphere, inundating her with an astonishing amount of information. Each time the skill leveled up, she found a safe spot to meditate while she became accustomed to the new range of her perception, which also expedited the leveling of her Meditation skill. Another pleasant surprise was her Transfer skill; time within her spatial dimension didn't freeze, but she noticed that it moved more slowly for items inside. Based on how long it took for food to cool, she estimated that time moved roughly two times slower inside her Transfer skill.
Short Range Teleport was another skill whose usefulness didn't surprise her, but the synergy with her sphere of perception certainly did. She could use the information from her sphere to choose a target location, and now, with the skill at level 6, she was able to instantly teleport to any location within 60 meters. It seemed that both her sphere and her teleport gained a distance of 10 meters per skill level, the implications of which were staggering to her, depending on how high the skill levels could go. When these skills get to level 10, I’ll be able to travel the length of a football field instantly.
One thing of note was that she hadn't been offered any new skills since taking the class. She knew she had 7 skills currently and could have a maximum of 10 at any given time. She had expected one at level 10 for some reason but was left slightly disappointed when nothing happened.
As she finished her breakfast of lukewarm rabbit and a hearty helping of fresh morning air for dessert, she stood up and wiped her hands on her tattered shirt as she scanned the surrounding area. Last night, when she climbed into her tree and gazed down south, she finally saw her first change of scenery since arriving in this world—a thinning tree line and some grass plains off in the distance. Seeing nothing amiss she stepped off the Mageblood branch and let herself fall towards the ground. When she was within 60 meters of the ground she used her teleport to reach the ground and began making her way through the forest heading south.
It was a couple of hours past dawn when she noticed something new within her sphere—a small wooden log cabin about 10 meters off the river bank. Her heart began thumping in her chest as she slowed down and stealthily moved towards the cabin. Civilization! There are actually other people here! God I hope they have a bed and are willing to let me stay for the night. Maybe they’ll even be able to answer some of my many, many questions.
As she moved towards the house her sphere of perception was able to pierce inside and her excitement deflated. With more confidence she stopped moving slowly and walked normally up to the cabin. It was a simple box-like structure made entirely of wooden logs, with two wooden shutters for windows and a door in the front leading down to the river. The back door opened to what was likely once a garden, now overrun by weeds and small trees.
Opening the door, she found the cabin completely abandoned, seemingly for many years, judging by the thick layer of dust covering every surface. The construction was hasty, with little effort to make it habitable by her Earth standards. Inside the single-room dwelling, there were only a few items: a small stone dagger, a crudely made bow with processed fibers for the string, and a mattress made of giant Mageblood tree leaves filled with various plant byproducts. Despite its lumpy appearance, it was a significant improvement over sleeping on the bare branches of a Mageblood tree. There was also a small dirt pit in the center of the floor, with rotted wooden stakes for use as a roasting pit and ventilation holes in the roof for smoke.
Lying on the bed, Kelsey felt comfortable for the first time in what seemed like forever. She considered what this cabin meant for her while figuring out her next steps. I guess someone else was forced to survive out here before me. It must have been at least a few years ago though, so it couldn’t have been Thadius. Plus, how would he have even managed to build a cabin in the first place given his condition. Shifting her thoughts away from her missing brother, she considered how to use the place to her advantage.
It has a bed, it has a roof. I haven’t seen rain since I arrived here, but I’m not foolish enough to think it just doesn’t rain here. Also, there's a chance that this planet has acid rain or something terrifying like that. Before I leave the forest I’d like to hunt some of those Thorn Wolves. One of them poisoned me and I need to get some sort of revenge. One other benefit is this would be a safe place to practice with my magic for a time. My skills definitely get stronger when they level up or when I gain intelligence or willpower, but It seems like the biggest benefits come from practice and understanding. With her mind made up, she decided to stay and train until she felt strong enough to take on a Thorn Wolf.
Weeks passed as Kelsey hunted horned rabbits and other animals for food, practiced her magic, ate, and slept. During this period, she gained another class level, bringing her to 13, and a few general skill levels—elevating Meditation to level 9, Identify to level 7, and Pain Tolerance to level 9. However, her class skills showed significant improvement, with all reaching at least level 7, and Lesser Telekinesis and Spatial Perception both advancing to level 9, while Spatial Sight hit its maximum level of 10. She almost constantly had both Spatial Perception and Spatial Sight activated during her training, which greatly enhanced her understanding of the way spatial magics functioned. She was now capable of creating somewhat stable weapons with her Lesser Telekinetic Creation, using them as real weapons for brief periods. Although these were not as effective as actual swords or staves, they suited her needs. The primary limitation was that any loss of concentration would cause these creations to unravel back into raw spatial mana. On the upside, her accuracy with magic had dramatically increased, enabling her to hit moving targets with relative ease.
During this time she also found time to confirm that regeneration rates worked as she expected them to. Confirming the Mana and Stamina regeneration rates was quite easy. She simply transferred the bed she slept on, in and out of her storage dimension until she ran out of mana. For Stamina, she simply went on a short run and came back. Health was also easy, but quite painful. That particular testing was actually how she leveled up her Pain Tolerance during her training. She confirmed that health regenerated 0.5 percent of its total per minute, while mana and stamina both regenerated the expected amount as well. That meant that Kelsey’s mana regeneration was 1.5 percent per second, which meant that she could go from an empty mana pool to full within 1 minute and 7 seconds. This meant that in practice she also regenerated a bit more than 1.5 percent of her health each second due to her Mageblood Regeneration skill. As rare an occurrence as it was during her training, each time she was injured during a fight with one of the rabbits, she made sure to practice using her regeneration in combat. It completely negated her mana regeneration while it was activated, but it was better than dying.
Sometime during her third week, a thunderstorm raged overhead and she was eternally grateful to whoever built the little cabin as she was able to stay completely dry during the whole ordeal. After 5 weeks, she reached what she felt was the end of her training. She could certainly get stronger and learn more, but she was feeling restless and wanted to go hunt one of those wolves. She heard their howls every day and night, seemingly taunting her.
She transferred her new bed into storage and left through the front door.
