A vague sound of flesh being ripped apart could be heard nearby, the trio slowly got as close as possible. Sounds seemed to come from below the small ledge they were on, as they got closer, they looked down, and observed a visceral scene of a deer being eaten. Guts, bones, and blood caked the scene around it, and surrounding the carcass were four small green creatures.
"Goblins baby!" Sam thought to himself and couldn't stop smiling. Knowing full well through the ex body owners memories, goblins plus other magical creatures from any typical fantasy magic world existed.
"Where theirs one gob boy, their will be a group behind it."
One tip that he learned that was different from the game, was mental commands. No verbal communication, just a quick thought. Wayne and Kayne took up their spots, while he stood shaking in anticipation for the brutal fight to come.
3..2..1..GO!
Brandishing the combat knife in his hand, he leapt off the ledge, each one of them already having one target for themselves. Landing on the goblins back, pushed the air out the things lungs, it tried to resist, but felt the immense weight on top of it. A quick stab to the throat immediately made it gurgle blood. Sam felt the goblins body going still.
Looking to his sides, he saw that Wayne caved in his targets head in when he landed. Kayne about the same only that he crushed the spine of his.
"Dammit, this body is way too frail. Even something simple, as jumping off a ledge has me winded."
Standing up and staring at the fourth member of the goblin group. Poor thing was too shell shocked that it started tripping trying to get away.
"Boo!"
It finally had enough and darted off into the foliage. Too bad this was all part of the plan, speaking of plan.

[TIER 1 CORE SHARD FOUND]
"LETSS GOO! And these goblins dropped 200 exp a piece. The core shards are still the same to unlock higher mark machines and mechs"
Opening the mechs/Robots tab, on the black box screens of the Mark 2 row, numbers for core shards finally popped up.
[1/100]
"Drop rate is pretty low, but can't complain. Hopefully the runner leads me to his little goblin camp."
Quickly catching up, but not too close to let it know they were following. Sam was honestly a little annoyed that out of 3 goblins only 1 dropped a core shard, in this world's terms or for anyone who's ever read a magic fantasy novel would call it a "magic core". For now tier 1 core shards will do, but later on, they will become scarcer the higher the tier.
"One step at a time, still need to get this body into shape too. Later find a small plot of land to unlock the building tab."
As they dashed, a clearing was coming into view. Taking cover behind some trees, Sam can only observe, small straw and wooden huts. A wide taller one down the middle of it all, fur skins of who knows what animals, have adorned it. That's where he saw the goblin runner enter, only to see it get sent flying back out. Loud low tone growls of some sort of goblin Language, can be heard coming from the big hut.
"Boss time boys, huddle up!"
Without thinking, Sam used another 1000 exp to summon two more androids. Not caring to name them this time. Mentally commanding Wayne and Kayne, to share a knife from their pair to the new androids. While seeing the goblin village, he concluded that their must be at least 200 or a little more normal gobs, as for variants, its unknown. That big guttural growling already proved one variant to be confirmed.
Sam was somewhat worried, in this world humans were extremely weak compared to the monsters that roamed the land, sea and air. Monsters had a ranking, Class 1 to 10, above that is stepping into calamaity type disasters like dragons, leviathans, demons, and elementals. Humans on the other hand had "awakened", out off every 1000 humans, only 1 would be awakened. To be an awakened, you need to have trained your body and mind, plus have talent to form what's known as a Soul Crystal. After that the stronger you get, the more it changes color. Bronze, silver, gold, Black gold, and finally obsidian. To put them into categories and compare them to what class monster can fight which ranked human.

Bronze rank = Class 1 and 2
Silver rank = Class 3 and 4
Gold rank = Class 5 and 6
Black gold = Class 7 and 8
Obsidian = Class 9 and 10
Now at first you might think humans have higher quality, but out of Obsidian rank humans, you can count them with one palm of your hand. Whilst Class 9 and 10 monsters are numerous. Humanity is only alive and thriving due to nature keeping itself in check, weapon making, numbers, and different methods to kill a monster.
Samuel's own father is a Gold ranked human. Now this is where Sam is worried, Samuel was targeted due to having the lowest rank and talent of the royal children. Thus his king father never did anything to protect him from the family.
Normal gobs are class 1, but the variants might have a couple 2s or maybe even a 3rd class. Androids can handle 1 and 2, as soon as 3rd came into the field, someone was going to die, or worse, wiped out.
Sam looked around and saw a narrow path, smooshed between these two massive boulders. Enough to have two androids side to side walk through.
"Perfect, quickly find strong, flexible and long enough branches to make spears. We're going to re-enact an old Greek story of 300 battle hardened warriors."
Life in the goblin village was going by as usual, until a loud and desperate shriek was heard. All nearby gobs turned and opened their eyes wide to see a strange thin golem. In his right hand a goblin being held up high by the throat with an iron grip.
CRACK
After breaking the neck of the goblin, its as if time stopped for just a second everywhere. Suddenly screeching for the death of their fellow goblin, first five then twenty. It was like a tsunami of green all running towards the golem. Wayne started full sprinting towards the rock chokepoint, after getting their attention. Easily having higher strength than a regular Olympic athlete, he made it just in time to get into position. The two new androids up front being used as shields, while Wayne and Kayne were behind holding sharpened wooden spears. Seeing a small horde quickly approaching, Sam yelled out to brace for impact.
"THIS IS WHERE WE HOLD THEM! THIS IS WHERE THEY DIE!"
Sam felt like he was on cloud nine, even if the androids didn't have the high enough intelligence to understand the reference. He still grinned like a fool, remembering his past life on earth. Seeing their prey stand still for them, all goblins gave a screech of joy. Androids upfront lowered themselves once the horde was 5 meters away, a heavy sound went out as the androids were pushed back. Their metal heels digging into the soft earth, grabbing onto as many goblins as they could. Kayne and Wayne soon got into a stabbing rythem right away, once the horde was blocked. A goblin who was about to break past the golems, got skewered right through the head. Soon more followed their fellow goblins into the afterlife, going after vital areas, they made quick work of them.

Ignoring the notifications, Sam was all smiles. At the rate that they were going, they would be done within half an hour. Obviously not all plans pan out well. It took them long enough with their low intelligence, but they figured out they could just run around the huge boulders. Noticing this from the back, Sam used three thousand exp to summon six more androids, not having enough time to summon knifes. He just commanded them, to intercept the small number that went around. Androids being superior in strength and speed. Every kick, stomp, or punch was an instant death. One goblin jumped onto the chest of an android with its mouth open. Aware of it, the android shoved it's hand into the mouth, clasped the lower jaw, then with its other free hand holding the upper part, split the goblins head open.
Twenty minutes later, about fifty plus goblins still alive. A deep barbaric guttural growl was heard from the goblin camp, with it the small creatures scampered off to join whatever made that noise. Gathering his own forces too, Sam repaired his ten androids. Coming out at a hundred exp per repair, especially the shield golems that badly needed it. All the small bashes the goblins made with their primitive weapons almost scrapped one of them. With it a new wave of summons, thirty glowing figures appeared. This fight was a big harvest for exp, too bad they couldn't finish them off.
"Forty androids, not bad. With this even if their is a class 3, numerical advantage is good too. Move out! Let's finish this before it gets dark."
Sam didn't bother handing out knifes, saving the five thousand exp for instant repairs and to summon ten troops in case. Slowly making their way to the goblin camp, they could hear angry growling, followed by whimpering screeches. In the middle of the group was a two meter tall goblin, well defined muscles, pieces of metal armor covering his vital areas.
"Big head honcho and a class 3 hobgoblin chief, not only that, but four hobgoblin bodyguards all class 2"
Standing around the big boss, each hobgoblin measured at least 1.5 meters in height, had metal weapons with some form of leather armor around their vitals. Looking at Wayne's spear, Sam had another idea. Sending a mental command to gather more branches, and to sharpen them. All forty androids worked as one unit in cohesion, some would gather, others used their knifes to sharpen the branches like school pencils. In less than ten minutes, all forty units had two spears each. Approaching the camp again and seeing that the goblins finally stopped their infighting, the little goblins followed by the bigger ones were leading where they fought the strange golems.
Getting into throwing positions, all units took a pose as if throwing a javelin.
"FIRE!"
The goblins stopped as they looked ahead, only to see a 40 spears cutting through the air towards them. Although not all spears made it, mostly due to the poor irregular wooden frame. At least more than half managed to Pierce and kill a large number of goblins. One spear headed towards the chief, before it reached, grabbing a goblin by the head it used it as a meat shield. It snarled as it gave Sam a deadly glare.
"Of course, why would it be that easy. Throw the second wave! Target the guys in the back more!"
Getting his 2nd spear out too, all units released the second wave. Hobgoblins formed up in front of their chief, one even had a round shield with a logo of a snake at the front. They used theirs swords and metal spears to deflect the majority with some grazing or taking a chunk of meat off their bodies. At this point the remaining 50 plus small goblins turned into 6 left alive. A hobgoblin fell over after getting pierced in multiple parts of its body.
Sam gave the order to charge at the remaining surviviors. With the number advantage flipped, the goblins died almost instantly. All hobgoblins actually proved to put up a decent fight, even managing to cut off an androids arm or leg off. In the end they were teamed up on 1 vs 5 or 1 vs 10. The goblin chief was attacked by ten androids at the same time. It swung its giant claymore sword in a complete 180 degree, like a hot knife through butter. Five units immediately scrapped and turning into particles of light. Momentarily distracted by the light particles, the remaining five sent heavy hits in. A knife to the abdomen, several kicks and punches that hardly had an effect. Pissed off the chief grabbed the unit with the knife by the head, and crushed it like a can of soda. Six down already in the span of just a minute made Sam sweat a little.
"Focus the chief!, try to restrict his movements!"
A group of androids piled on top of its back, before it could swing its sword again. Six androids held its arms. Feeling the combined strength of multiple androids holding it down, it yelled in anger. Instantly the Goblin chief started emanating a red aura visible to the eye, Sam felt the air suddenly shift, knowing what was about to happen. He threw his combat knife, hitting it right in its left eye, getting it half buried deep. Momentarily stopping the skills activation, and using the pause to dash up to it. The chief looked at Sam running up to it unwillingly, but it didn't change anything. As soon as Sam got close he jump kicked, aiming for the knife and plunged it deeper, piercing deep into the brain. As if on puppet strings, the chiefs body collapsed along with all the units on top of it.

Waiting for an extra notification, he looked dejected at the ground.
"Ugh! of course no tier 2 cores, search the camp and bring whatever you can find that's useful."
Taking a seat on the ground, Sam swept through all the gains of the battle.
