I head out the door and make my way over to the plaza. Everybody's already there but they told me to come later so they could set everything up. During the ceremony, a ritual is performed and that's when my ability to use mana will activate while a beast is summoned. The summoned beast is something I have to defeat and the part of it that glows after, is what will act as my wand. Ceri kept calling it transducer but it's a wand in every sense of the word so I'll stick with wand since it sounds fantasy like.
I've enjoyed living in this planet, what was it called again? Right, it was Aipa. I'm used to saying earth, so I have to remember phrases like what on aipa? That doesn't sound right. I just noticed that it's getting dark as well. So the ceremony starts at dusk huh? The party lasts all night then? That's one hell of a party, considering nights on this planet last 12 hours and the days are 28 hours, making a total of 40 hour days. It may seem like a lot but I gotta say, that's completely right. Everyday feels like it's two for me! Oh, I could see some light. I never did get out of the habit of talking to myself. I'll just hurry on over. Being able to use magic seems like it will be fun.
***
Looks like the entire tribe is here. Since we have an S class barrier set up we don't really need guards in this tribe. The local militia is setup for hunting purposes since we happen to live in the Nahe Forest, where SSS class monsters are abundant.
As soon as father saw me he smiled and pointed me towards a seat near the center of the plaza.
"Everyone! Please quite down now! All children are now present for the awakening ceremony." (Epimir)
All children? So it's not just me then huh. Well, I never really hung out with anybody outside my family these five years. Not that I didn't want too, it's just that father and Ceri would always take up much of my time. I'll see to it that I get to know them after. I'll be a little lonely now that Ceri is leaving anyway.
"Now children, you are all here to awaken the latent mana that has been cultivating inside your bodies over the past five years. After today you will be able to use that mana to invoke magic and you will also learn how to use blood magic! Our tribes blood born skill passed down from Teymir himself! When I call your name I want you to come over and place your hand on this crystal." (Epimir)
That crystal is massive! I would say it's around a meter tall and It's smooth green glowing edges are reminiscent of a finely cut emerald. Truly a work of art. That reminds me, I wonder what my family did with my rock collection back on earth...I would collect different types of rocks that caught my interest as I traveled around the world on my tours. Whether they were rocks, minerals or gems, I would collect them all. I was a hoarder wasn't I? Ha, well that's past me now. I haven't even collected anything up to now. Should I take up a hobby?

"Now that I've explained everything we will now begin!" (Epimir)
Ah, I forgot to listen. Hopefully I'm not first.
"Pedec! If you would start us off" (Epimir)
Thank the gods!
Pedec stood up and walked over to the crystal. He's fairly tall, taller then myself by about 20 cm, I had regarded myself as tall since I stand at 60 cm as a five year old. Although he doesn't have the same eyes as me and father. They're a classic shade of brown. I'm kind of jealous, I know for sure that I'm going to face hardships in the future because of my eyes.
After placing his right hand on the crystal it began to glow white and the light encompassed his entire body for a brief moment. When the light subsided there stood Pedec, same as ever but he now was covered with a kind of reddish glow. Looks like an aura of some kind. I've never seen anyone use magic before since all our tribe can take down a monster with our bodies strength alone.
After he finished examining himself, Pedec made his way over to the summoning circle. The moment he stepped into the circle a bluish light poured out and with it a Grimoire White Buffalo. It looks like a regular albino buffalo only, It's entire body is inscribed with spells which allow it to use up to S class magic. Combined with it's agility this beast ranks SS on the charts.
That's one hell of a monster to have to solo fight for a five year old...I wonder if he'll be alright. I'm sure someone will jump in if it gets too dangerous.
Pedec, without even tensing up, crouched on all fours and seemed to be sizing up the buffalo. The buffalo immediately let out a beam of red light from its horns towards Pedec. Luckily Pedec had seen it coming and dodged to the left in a flash.
Looks like he specializes in speed. I wouldn't have seen it if I wasn't already looking at him.
Pedec quickly made his way towards the buffalo while it was still scorching the ground where Pedec once was. Doesn't look like the buffalo noticed him move.
"Bloody Shockwave!" (Pedec)
Pedec screamed out while he ran full speed and rammed straight into the unsuspecting buffalos side.
Along with the crunching of bones and splatter of blood a hole ripped through the buffalos stomach when it finally collapsed.
Heh, it really was just a bloody shockwave. Blood magic is fearsome.
Pedec stared at the buffalo for a moment before pulling out one of it's ribs.
So that rib is his wand now? It even looks like a wand unlike Ceri's. Wait, I don't think I've even seen my parents wands. I'll ask them about it later.
That Pedec is pretty strong. Instead of getting fazed by the top class monster, he just went for the kill straight away. Which is arguably the best method of attack against, well, pretty much all wanting to use magic. Close range is a killer for magic.
"Hahaha! Well done young one! No, I should call you by your name now. Pedec! You are now a true Blood Demon!" (Epimir)
That look on fathers face...I remember it. That's the face of respect. Something I saw much of in the now lost past of mine.
I get it now. That's the reason I joined. That's the reason I stayed all those years in the military even if it went against who I really am. Pride. That intoxicating feeling of pride you feel when your pupil has achieved a feat. Hahahaha! I finally understand myself now. Well, that's a mystery solved. Maybe....I should get my own pupils to teach? Ah, I'm still five. I'll think about that later. Looks like the girl sitting next to me is next.
