Wah! My baby brother is so cute! He looks exactly like dad! Though...I can already tell he's a little weird.

"Mom! Mom! What's his name?!"

I'm so excited to have a brother!

"Name?...Whatever it is it needs to have mir at the end of it. It's a male tradition from our ancestors in this family HaHaHa!" (Epimir)

"Yes yes honey. Then let's call him Dij in memory of your father." (Enni)

"Dij huh? Yeah...Yeah! That's a good name! Dijmir! From now on you are named Dijmir, my son!" (Epimir)

Dad scooped Dijmir into his arms from my mother and began swinging him.

"Epimir! I know your excited but your child was just born. He's in no state to be swung around!" (Enni)

Hehehe, mothers lovely when she's angry.

"Daddy what's that on brothers back?"

"His back?" (Epimir)

Father turns brother in his hands and looks at his back. Father looks confused and worried.

"Honey, what do you make of this?" (Epimir)

Father lowers brother down and shows mom. I could also see it more clearly now.

"A circle?" (Enni)

That's right it looks just like a black circle.

"Could it possibly be a birthmark?" (Enni)

"A birthmark? No one from our tribe has ever gotten a birthmark." (Epimir)

That's true. I may be young but I've read enough of our history to know that Blood Demons don't receive birthmarks.

"We'll leave it alone for know and see if there are any changes later." (Epimir)

"Yes, we'll make sure our child is healthy first." (Enni)

"Mom! Can I hold him?"

"Here dear, be careful now." (Enni)

"Yes mom!"

I give me mother a big smile. Finally! I get to hold you! Don't worry brother, big sister will always be there to protect you!

Awwe, he's sleeping so soundly.

It hasn't been that long since brother was born but father has been reading him history books and trying to tell him about general knowledge of the world. We Blood Demons love reading and history. Many other species think we are muscle brained, but just because we like to fight doesn't mean we're not educated hmm!

A-Anyway, the rest of the time mom is either singing to him or feeding him.

You could tell that he inherited dads spirit. He's constantly flailing around unless he's eating or sleeping.

He's such a good boy too! He doesn't even cry! I've only heard him cry when he was born.

The weeks pass by so fast.

Brother is already able to keep his eyes open. The only bad thing is that he stays up all day just looking around. I remember the time when he just starred at us for a good hour. That is until dad showed up and it looked like brother was surprised to see him. Hehe, his eyes grew wide and he looked away and back a few times. My brother is so cute!

He also inherited the eyes of Teymir. Teymir is our ancestor, said to be the first of our kind. Teymirs distinctive trait is his crimson glowing pupils and pitch black sclera. The eyes only show up on Blood Demons blessed by Teymir, who happens to be the God of Destruction.

This also confirmed that the tattoo on brothers back is probably a gods blessing. Those without God's blessing can't have Teymir's eyes.

If he's anything like dad then he's destined to change the world somehow.

Dad was actually the demon king for some time while mom reigned as his queen. They did that for some time and never once lost a battle. They eventually grew tired and stepped down.

It's my ambition to reign as the demon queen! When it's my time to set off that's what I'll be going for. If brother also wants to join me later then I'll be sure to keep a seat open for him.

Yeah! I need to become a great demon king to show brother just how awesome I am!

In these few months it seems that brother has become more attentive. Whenever we read books or tell him anything he perks up and listens without blinking sometimes. Very strange for a baby as my mom says, but I'm thinking that it's just because he's just as interested in history as the rest of us.

Also he looked to be brooding over something that mother told him. Can a baby even brood?

As soon as my brother turned one he was already properly walking on his own. Not only that, he was also able to speak even though he did have a little lisp which just made it cute! But to walk and talk at the same time! He really was blessed by Teymir!

Mom and dad say that it's the first time they've seen something like this. Not only that, he even speaks politely, going so far as to sometimes say sir or mam to dad and mom. He ends up correcting it back to mother and father though.

Brother quickly wanted to move around because he would ask dad if he needed any help with anything. Dad being dad, he always took brother with him no matter how dangerous it might be. Dad always tells us how brother is very good out in the wilderness. From setting traps, harvesting, cooking, setting up camp, even building makeshift weapons. The most surprising thing about all this is that dad didn't teach any of this to him! He's a genuius! Brothers a prodigy!

Recently brother has been making weird signs with his hands and says sir whenever we say hi to him. He always quickly lowers his hand back down with an embarrassed look. I wonder if he's trying to practice how to use magic? The only ones who can use magic with their hands alone are the elves. Everyone else needs to use some type of magic transducer and a chant. The transducers come in all types and shapes but they all have the same principle behind them. Which is to give form to the users magic. Mine happens to be the skull of a magma half-orc. Blood Demons receive their transducers on the day of the coming of age ceremony, and are also able to use blood magic with direct contact as well as a transducer. When the ceremony starts, the mana within us is awoken and a beast of some kind makes it's way out of the ritual circle after being summoned. It's the job of the child to take down the beast and the part of the beast that will be most compatible with the child will glow letting them know what they need to keep. In my case the skull was glowing, so that became my transducer, or as humans call it, my wand.

Not only does our ability to use magic activate but Blood Demons can use a specialized type of magic that let's us control blood. Like if I were to say [Explode] and thought of the opponents blood when I said it then it would have caused the blood vessels to explode. Luckily we have a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to how blood works in the bodies of other species. On that note we have black blood. We do get a lot of hate from other species including some other demon tribes but I guess we do look a little evil compared to other races on this planet....

Wahh, I got a little side tracked there. Oh yeah! I was going to teach brother that Blood Demons could only learn magic once they've completed the right of passage at the age of five.
