Mythical Race Selection

Unlike the short-lived Mortals or their younger Ancient cousins, not many races have legends written about them in stories or oral fables. Either through abhorrent fear or hushed whispers in the back of scholars’ minds, these races are mythical in nature and not much is known. *Each race listed here has different abilities and legends.

Race Selected: Nyxian

---

Legends circulated eons ago across the Multiverse-through the Eternal System-of a mysterious race of technologically and magically adept people who have mastered utilizing magical forces in technology. They were among the first people to pioneer the field of Magitech-or Hextech in some circles-by inventing entire arsenals and ships that moved across various dimensions which caught the attention of the Crux Court. This led to a golden age for the Nyxian Empire, but after three thousand years of suffering during the God War, their Empire had been completely destroyed-leaving pieces of magitech across various worlds that used to be part of the Empire or left in their warsites. No historical accounts are left in a majority of System-controlled space of these people or their accomplishments, but no one knows of the Nyxians’ true fate after the War…

When I chose the “Nyxian” race for my physical vessel’s appearance, I saw their whole racial profile under the System. Their general appearance seemed to be humanoid with a few bits of other races involved like the slightly pointed ears of elves and muscle mass of dragonkin. Using the chargen-aka Character Generator-function, I started designing the body how I desired. Since this vessel will take up a slot, I had to be very careful to choose how it’ll look.

First, the gender defaulted to “male” for obvious reasons. Despite being an Elder God and truly agender-no actual physical gender identification-I heavily identified as a man.

Second, I set the height of my vessel to be around six and a half feet-or about two meters-tall. That is about eleven inches taller than Cel before he died, but I figured to somewhat recreate his general appearance with this new body as a testament to him.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Third, the default body build of the Nyxians presented itself as an athletic build with very little muscle definition and subpar body fat. I fixed that by increasing the body build to a similar type as a hardworking individual with a considerably higher muscle definition-around a “ripped” body build-and slightly increased body fat though not towards a chubby appearance. Once I finished confirming the changes to the body build, it definitely looked attractive from an outside perspective to such an extent someone might point out the charms are a blessing and a curse.

Lastly, I started to fiddle with the rest of the settings. I changed the hair color to a deep dark raven color, set the hair length to just below my shoulder blades, designed the eye color to be a deep emerald green hue, rounded out the sharp cheekbones and jawline, placed the skin tone to be a tan white color, settled on a voice that had a neutral accent similar to those living in the Pacific Northwest of Earth, and adjusted the appearance to look around twenty or twenty-five so I’d look relatively young. Once I finished all of that, I confirmed my choices and mentally hit the “create character” button.

The sight of a body being forged for me by the System and ambient energy gained for centuries-refined over time-was absolutely awe inspiring. Bone appeared first then came the muscles and organs like it was being printed out through some kind of biological 3D printer-weaving together a complex puzzle of cells to make up a whole body. Ambient magical energy being drawn into the process as if being sucked through a vortex to act as a stabilizing force, but I knew once this finished, that energy quality would drop immensely. That would attract attention from the trio outside of my chambers, but I did not care in the slightest. People are not naturally inept about events or concepts seemingly unfamiliar in nature and they can suspect things all they wish.

As for the name of “Zac Ghost” instead of “Cel Davron,” I wanted to keep my real identity a secret from everyone on this planet unless they got in my way. No one would believe that a deity more powerful than spirits or demigods existed-let alone walk among them in physical form. This might not work as well on Eri though considering her soul has felt my power before, but it may have to prove sufficient…

Wait a minute…

I gave myself a mental facepalm. “That’s how they found this place! Eri fucking became drawn to this place through my remnant power still left after casting that spell!”

After learning that tidbit of information, I called up Eri’s Quest Log and saw proof.

I was shocked at the quest-the backstory, objectives, and insane rewards that can make anyone green with envy-Eri had in her Quest Log. It must have been System-generated after I sent her back in time-making her take all that time to acquire those levels and tiers. The rewards could easily make up for it, but I cannot help but wonder what Eri will do after she completes this quest. Perhaps there will be more to her life after that considering elves live a very long time and not a lot of them have reached her level yet or maybe the System has other ideas since Eri has that sub-requirement of discovering my identity.

Either way, I’ll make sure Eri completes this quest. Then a red System prompt appeared in my vision.
