Chapter 32: Dominator (1)

When we arrived at the 5th floor, lots of bats were hanging upside down to welcome us. And we're standing on a cliff.

All of our brows quivered upon seeing the scene in front of us. There's nothing here. It's a dark cave, the ceiling is black, full of bats. While the cliff below is full of snakes.

I could feel the chills down my neck and arm. This may be a cave but the moon is visible at the far left of the cave's ceiling, where it served as our light source.

All of us turned to the door, it was Drio and Selek who checked and tried to open it. Of course, it won't open.

"Those bats and snakes…" Theo murmured as he observed the creatures.

The knights didn't say anything. We can't blame him for being angry. He came here to get some treasure but ended up in vain.

"I should've chosen the underground floors. I'm such an idiot!" He punched the wall. Getting angry won't get us the treasure.

I prepared to go back and Selek consoled Theo. Talking to him seriously. Drio followed me looking down and... the fuck. We're stranded here and the only way out is maybe waiting for the raiders team to conquer the dungeon from the underground.

But is this really all for the top floors? If I consider the system notice… There should be a way, right? Only I could see that system notice, and it won't appear without a reason. "There's a riddle." He said.

'Another riddle? Were the two connected?'

Efren read the riddle out loud.

"Kids of this dark home,

We will attack if we are hurt!

Only want to hear a song.

Noise, we dislike!

We'll kill you with a tantrum.

That'll make us leave our home peacefully,

Get us to fly, we won't defy,

"I don't understand." Told Selek who's clueless.

"Of course, you don't. Because it is a riddle." Drio teased and the two bickered.

They can't help with this, haa… Efren was staring intently at the riddle, was he trying to solve it? Nice! He's growing, let's reward him for that later.

He finally smiled. Theo on the other hand, was in deep thoughts. Just like that, his anger subsided. I looked at the riddle…

Though… the sound was really… how should I put it… a mess and funny. There's high pitch, deep voice, monotonous, tone deaf, and shaky. Haa… I'm not one to complain either, mine's pretty shaky.

For the next line, it put some steps on to the song and hand motions. Just like the kids when singing their favorite children's song- later on. I want to look back but I will probably laugh… so no…

I wanna burst out laughing, what the hell! I can hear some off key, low key and normal sounding voices. I want to laugh but it'll ruin the song.

Their faces was indescribably funny, Drio was blushing all face covered, Selek was touching his throat and was like testing his voice but it still off key, Efren was stiff and sweaty, and Theo was sulking at the far end of the platform- he's the one who used his monotonous voice to sing. Hahahaha! All of us are equally funny!

After I finished laughing, I wiped away my tears and calmed down myself. They all fixed their faces and stood up straight. I looked at the place where the bats were resting before, and there, we saw another hole and a safe path towards it.
