Chapter 2: My Unexpected Day (2)

Bruce looked nervous, but kept his composure as he awkwardly smiled. While the crowd was also looking confused on why he gifted a knife.

"I thought about it, you need it for self-defense. And it was confirmed when we saw how you reacted on the set-up earlier. You obeyed the demand in the letter and went straight to the bank, you didn't even bother to contact the police for help and just went straight to the location. What if a similar situation happened in the near future? And it is serious, what will you do?" Bruce explained, every word coming out of his mouth made sense and the crowd agreed on his idea. Seeing him worry about the future and worry about me, made my heart melt.

"You really are a weirdo, if it's self-defense, why not a taser? Anyways, thanks." I accepted his gift and smiled warmly.

Several gifts were opened. If not luxurious, then unique, then antique. Haysss, the life of a rich man is really… nevermind.

After the party, the guests left and so my family. I stayed behind with Sunny and my secretary, Ms. Nancy.

"Ms. Nancy, could you bring these gifts to my house in Lancent subdivision, after the project I plan to take 2 weeks off for my vacation. Cancel all the appointments scheduled that time. You can go." She nodded then exited.

"My, my. Aren't you worried about your secretary? Command here and order there. Give her a break, Ran. Her work must be harder than it's supposed to, because of you." Sunny stated, while I just listened.

"I always do that, it's just been hectic these past few months. But I plan to give a week of vacation to the only ones involved in this project. And in addition, every time the project succeeded, their wages increased too. I'm not the unreasonable boss like you imagined me to be." I countered, Sunny is my best friend since birth, we grew up together because both our parents are in the same group of friends and stay the same as of now.

"Yeah yeah, as is I don't know your personality at all. Anyway wanna go to the club? It's your birthday so we should, right? No, we MUST." Then she wrapped her arms around mine. Sigh… As always, she's a party girl. Happy go lucky to be exact.

CLUB

As we enter, we're greeted by loud and ear-wracking music. As expected, Sunny is as wild as an animal when it comes to clubbing, for me on their hand, will serve as her bodyguard when someone attempts to hit on her.

"Let's drink, Ran! We haven't come here lately and I miss it! Hahaha~" She shouted because of the music

"Don't wanna. You know I have a low tolerance of alcohol and I will also drive later. Drink for yourself, I'll watch you." I said and sat beside her, as she ordered a glass of tequila.

"What?! But it's your birthday, you have to drink with me too~ whaaaaa~ your breaking my heart, I hate you!" She ranted, and crossed her arms. I know I'm inconsiderate but I have many reasons… though I also know that she will eventually give up later.

After drinking her glass, she stood up and went to the dance floor. The crowd gave her space as she danced to her heart's content, while I watched her from over here. It's alright, I'm satisfied that she's happy. I ordered a glass of juice without any alcohol, and watched the bartender do his tricks of mixing.

"Nice." I complimented.

"Weren't you going to follow your friend, miss?" The bartender asked, he may look trustworthy because of his appearance and way of conversing, but I know this type of person… definitely a flirt.

"Nope." I casually answered, ahh~ I know I am boring but please... I am born serious in this life, I don't fool around like Sunny, not childish like Alice and definitely not a weirdo like Bruce.

"Oh, look at your friend miss, wow! Wild, she must be good in bed." The bartender showed a smug and lustful look that made my blood boil.

I stood up and grabbed his collar, which made him dumbfounded and the people who saw what I did.

"Say it again." I glared, "I dare you to say it again and I'll pull your tongue out of your mouth." The evil aura surges from me, even I feel it. It's my talent.

"I-I'm sorry, I won't s-say it again." He looked scared at the sight of me. As I let go of him, he immediately went to the back and asked someone to shift for him.

"Oh my, who let a wild dog enter here? They must be blind for not noticing"

I looked back and spotted Agnes Wilbur, my sworn competitor. She always targets our company as if we're exchanging blows at war. She once planted a spy that almost caused our company to go bankrupt a year ago. And that made me take over the company and got stuck from there, working my ass off.

"Mmm... Agnes the menace, what are you doing here? Don't you know that this is our territory? You must be the one who's lost." I smirk. "How does it feel to be on the verge of collapsing after I got the project from the Rassles? Does it hurt? Ahh... right, it must be. Even your mighty father neglected you after that." I snickered.

Well, talking shit is also one of my talents, I have a very very rude mouth that makes anyone cry.

This is my other personality, it was always activated when I met Agnes, by chance or not. She likes to criticize and embarrass me, and for me I love to see her irritated and devastated face, I love to see her suffer HAHAHA! Given all the things she'd done to me. I love to see her explode in anger and later on, weep to her core.

"Satisfied? If so then shut your trap!" Agnes warned me, I can see her irritated face hahaha! Not enough, more… I want more!

"Not yet, Lovely. I will not be satisfied until I see you beg for me to stop. Good luck~" I teased. Her face gradually turned red and attempted to grab my hair. But I swiftly dodged and pulled the guy beside her to me, it's her boyfriend, he was shocked but then pushed him to her and they both landed on the flat floor.

"Hey, get a room guys! Don't do it here, there are so many people!" I yelled innocently. The busy crowd then turned to see them and they were showered with laughter, criticism, judgments and eyes full of disgust.

They both stood and glared at me, but that didn't scare me at all, in fact I sent them my sweetest and most innocent smile.

It was simple but for me, it's PRICELESS. Hahahaha~ I walked away from them and I can tell how miserable Agnes is. If stares can kill, I would probably drop dead right now, but it's a pity it can't Hahahaha.

Several hours passed, Agnes and her boyfriend were nowhere to be found so I focused on thinking about the project I'm working on, when I noticed someone was trying to grope Sunny while she's dancing. I can tell she's already drunk. Who the heck is he?! Striding to where they are, before he touches Sunny, but then someone stops in front of me.

I’m trying to pass him but then I saw someone grab the gropper’s evil hands and twisted them as he groaned in pain. I was so focused on what was going on since another person caught the evil hand that was about to touch my friend so I was relieved. I glared at the person who purposely blocked me, he was a strange person in a black coat, almost looking like a military uniform. His face was pale, unknowingly had red eyes… contact lenses?

"So you were here… I've been wondering what type of dimension you've been all this time. Haa… as expected, you always wanted to be normal, huh. Anyways, I'm just here to tell you that Lord Angus was about to get you back… be prepared." The man slid his hand across his face like he was frustrated. "Just why… Did he have to send me for a selfish man like you? Tch. What a waste of time." He then put his index finger on my forehead, I saw a light flashed and a warm sensation flowed on my body… like I was in a hot tub.

"What? Hey, you must have the wrong person, unless you're crazy, move away weirdo…" I slapped his hand after I realized what happened, and pushed myself to shove him on the side to get to Sunny as fast as possible.

The guy who saved Sunny was arguing with the guy who was about to grope Sunny. My blood boiled as I grabbed the evil hand of the guy…

"You dared to grope my friend on my watch?" My view darkened. The evil aura was released, "Are you tired of living?" The most evil smirk was presented, that made him tremble in fear.

"N-No..." he started to run with his tail between his legs. Lucky you, I'm not born as a man or else I already killed you with just a flick of my fingers.

I dragged the drunk Sunny outside and tossed her on the back seat. This girl really can cause me death. Next time, I'll make sure she's aware of her surroundings. I sent Sunny to her condominium but before I leave, I tend to her first. She is really drunk and can't wake, sigh… how would it be if I was not here? She's always put herself in danger.

1 week had passed... and Relens project had launch. As expected, it was a success with the total earning of 8.7 billion. Gosh! Thankfully nothing went wrong.

*sigh*

"I can now relax!" I exclaimed in relief, 2 weeks starting right now is my vacation, no work allowed. My dad will take over for me temporarily to manage the company.

"What do you plan on your vacation, dear?" My mom asked before sipping her tea.

"I just want to rest, eat, and travel. I'm tired of just sitting at work. Anyway, what kind of tea is this? It's quite refreshing and delicious." I said after I tasted the tea.

"I modified it. You can't find it in any stores." She answered. I know my mother likes to brew tea as a hobby, but this is the first time I learned she modified one. She practically owned it.

"Really? Then teach me, mom. It's nice to learn something new, it's interesting." I grab a notebook to write the procedure.

"Alright then." She happily answered. This is also the first time I saw her enthusiastically teaching something to me. In the first place, none of us siblings are interested in brewing tea or coffee which was mom's hobby, until today.

After brewing for hours, we then visited her restaurant. Mom owns and runs a restaurant, independent from our company. Bruce got her talent in cooking so he's taking up a culinary arts course for college, and she wishes him to inherit the restaurant in the future.

"Mom, I planned to go to London next week, wanna join me?" I ask, I've been wanting to travel and now that I got the chance, I should grab it.

"Oh? Sorry hon, we are scheduled next to open a new branch in City B, I cannot miss it. Why not ask Sunny? Alice and Bruce can't do it because they still attend school, and your father on the other hand has to manage the company in your place. It's a busy week for us, you know what I mean, right?" Mom sadly replied, yeah, I already got my busy days and so they have.

"Well, it's fine. I understand, but Sunny can't also go because she has to deal with the issue regarding her fiancè, set by their family. I really can't understand the concept of arranged marriage, thank god, our company doesn't need it." Mom looked sad after hearing the topic.

Mom's family respects the idea of marriage and doesn't like loveless marriage. Mom and Dad are friends with Sunny's parents so she really is bothered by Sunny's arranged marriage. After all, Sunny's family is already part of our family.

"Okay, I'll talk to your Auntie about it. Let's prepare for dinner then."
