Two days passed in a blur. I informed my school about my awakening and my admission into the academy. This surprised them due to my age but they approve my early graduation anyway.
I woke up early on D-Day a bit nervous but a lot more excited.
(So author, what adventures await me at the academy?)
{No spoilers}
I didn't mind anyway, life was more fun with surprises. Packing up my clothes and a few necessities, I was ready to say goodbye to my apartment, since I moved out of the orphanage 4 years ago (for personal reasons) I've been living in this place.
Although it was cramped, it felt better than living in the orphanage. I closed the door and booked a taxi to the academy.
Gods damn was the ride fast. It turned out that the driver was a Hermes Chosen who had the ability to open portals across long distances. He made an 8 hour journey into a 30 minute one using his portals.
I asked why he didn't become a hero instead, since his ability would have been very useful in the field but he replied that he wasn't meant for hero work.
I understood his decision. Being a hero is a dangerous Job and it's not meant for everyone.
I was dropped at the gate of the academy and once again, I was surprised. The architecture of the academy was breathtaking.
Instead of a modern building I was used to, the Academy was a massive ancient looking stone structure with statues of gods from different pantheons.
(Another cliche author?)
{I thought you were fascinated by the building}
(That doesn't mean it's not cliche)
{You're lucky I didn't put you in a tower with dragons flying overhead. Now go get registered}
----
I'm lost... I should've known walking around this massive building without asking for directions was a big mistake.
(Umm author? A little help here)
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
{Nope, I'm busy enjoying your misery}
(F*ck you author)
"Excuse me, are you lost?" Someone asked. I turned to find a girl with blue hair and green eyes, who was a student (if the uniform is anything to go by) moving towards me.
"Yes, I was looking for the administration office, can you please point me in the right direction?" I replied, feeling thankful
"Sure, just follow me" she said and I complied.
"Thank you, It was getting embarrassing just roaming around the academy with my luggage. I'm Alex by the way" I spoke and introduced myself.
"Nice to meet you Alex, I'm Mia." She replied and before I could speak again, she stopped in front of an office door.
"We're here. Also welcome to the Academy Alex" she said and turned to leave.
"Thanks Mia" I replied before I knocked on the door.
"Come in" a voice answered from inside and I opened the door.
Inside was a woman sitting behind a desk. She had black hair and eyes, she also had a pale skin that made me doubt if she was actually alive.
Despite all that, she looked incredibly beautiful.
(Maybe secretly a vampire??)
{Not that type of story bud}.
"Ah Mr. Alex. Have a seat, Michael told me you'd be coming" she spoke gesturing towards the seat in front of her.
I sat down and handed her the form Michael gave me.
"I see, so Michael wanted you in his class maybe it's because you were blessed by Thanatos—." She spoke but immediately paused.
The room suddenly became cold (almost compared to the sensation I felt when I met Thanatos if not more), causing me to freeze in my seat. What the f*ck was this feeling?
"How the hell are you blessed by him? We're you one of the people responsible?" She asked, her cold starry eyes (when did they become stars) narrowed on me.
By some miracle (I've been experiencing those a lot lately), I was able to open my mouth and speak.
"What do you mean ma'am?" I asked while shivering due to the pressure.
"Don't play dumb with me boy, you and I know it's impossible to be blessed by Thanatos since he's dead. " she said increasing the pressure in the room.
But before I could pass out, Chibi Thanatos appeared again.
"That's enough mom" he said.
Mom? Mortals were capable of giving birth to primordials now. Have I been living under a rock all this while ?...
"T-Thanatos? Is that you?" She asked, sounding hopeful.
"Not quite. I'm more like a memory chip he left behind to assist his successor" Chibi replied.
"I see" She said, I could've sworn I saw tears in he eyes.
"The kids not responsible for my death, he's just someone I chose to pass on my powers to" Chibi explained.
The pressure in the room finally receded and I could finally breathe again. Thank you Chibi..
"Then who's responsible? " She asked again after calming down.
"My memory of the person is locked until he (he pointed at me) becomes strong enough" he answered.
"I see. Then for my previous actions against you young Alex, I shall grant you a gift as an apology" she turned to me and I felt like she was staring at my soul.
[System notification: You have received a gift from the primordial Nyx.
Do you want to view??]
I dismissed the system notification for now. Now was not the time, and the primordial Nyx?? What is she doing as a human.
"Don't you think it's time to give back control to the mortal ? The longer you stay the more more you burden her soul" Chibi said.
"You're right son, I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you " She said looking sad.
"Although I'm not really your son, but I can tell you that he or I don't blame you " Chibi replied.
"Thank you. I'll be watching your journey young Alex, use my gift well " with that her eyes went back to their normal black and chibi disappeared again.
"Damn it Nyx, a warning next time before you take over my body" she grumbled with her fingers massaging her temple.
"I'm really sorry for what happened Alex. That could've gone better" she turned to me and apologised.
"It's fine ma'am, besides she already apologised" I said—although I had a lot of questions about what just happened, I wanted to get some rest even more.
"I'm Kyra, the principal, and I hope what happened here today remains a secret " she said looking me straight in the eye.
"Yes ma'am" I answered.
"Good, I'll call someone to escort you to your apartment in the Academy. Welcome to the Academy of Chosen Alex" she said with a smile and the turned to her phone .
"Thank you" I replied, waiting for the person who's supposed to escort me.
{That was intense huh?}
(Yeah, I'm glad I didn't die again)
{I could've sworn making you meet a primordial will make you at least faint. Guess I underestimated you}
(What??)
{Nothing. The chapters already over}
(No, what was that about making me faint?)
{Bye}
(F*ck you!!)
