''Ready to go?'' Kyane asked as he looked over the party and the site where they just slept. The party hearing Kyane's voice answered positively indicating that they were ready.
With their bags on their shoulders, they started to move, and Aella was with them, following closely. She had managed to convince June to let her stay, although it didn't take much convincing, she just asked the elf and she got back a simple yes. Aella later asked again because when she asked the first time June had just woken up, and looked somewhat half-dead, and after getting another 'yes' she was ready to follow the party.
She understood that they had some way to make it until they got to the village, but they would make it before sunset if nothing major happened. So with that in mind, they started making their way to the village. The path was interesting from Aella's perspective, they were going through something like a forest but from time to time they would find themselves in a clearing without trees, so Aella imagined that from the bird's point of view, it looked like a forest with multiple bald patches around it.
From time to time they would stop to either look where they were, or take a short break, but besides that nothing too interesting happened. They did run into a few goblins, but they were quickly taken care of, they took a short rest after and then continued on their way.
When the sun was 3/5 on its way to the horizon, the party entered another clearing and saw some structures in the distance, it looked like they had finally arrived at their destination. With Kayne leading, the party made their way to the village.
While walking Aella could see some people working in the fields and it didn't take long before some of the villagers noticed them. The people living here mostly gave them a look or two, with some children taking a moment to stare at them, but none of them approached them, so the party continued to make their way to the village's center.
The village itself wasn't protected much, there was a stone wall around it, but it didn't look as big or as impressive as a city wall, but although it wasn't as sturdy as the walls of some cities it looked like it was good enough for its intended purpose, as the villagers were still living here.
Looking more closely Aella could see that although the walls didn't look that impressive the villagers and guards on the other hand looked to some level of battle-worn, not everyone but a large part of them looked like they were ready to fight some monsters if need be. While Aella was looking around the party smoothly got to the village center, with the only stop being the entrance where guards checked them.
This village didn't have an adventure guild in it so they went straight for the chief's house. It was practically in the middle of the village so it wasn't hard to find.
''Welcome!'' But they didn't even have to come close to the house before someone greeted them. Taking a look Aella saw that the one who welcomed them was a man with simple brown hair and eyes, he looked like he was pushing 50 but even then he had an impressive physique, even his somewhat loose, simple clothes couldn't hide his muscles.
''I'm guessing you're the chief of this village, were adventurers here to look into the demon problem.'' As the party leader, Kayne was the one who introduced them and gave the explanation as to why they were here. The man who greeted them gave Kayne a nod before he stretched out his hand for a handshake, which Kayne gladly shook.

''That I am and we are glad that the guild has this quickly responded.'' The village chief didn't allow them to stand in one place, instead, he started to lead them somewhere. ''This village might not be much, but we will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.'' They walked right behind the chief as he talked to them.
''Thanks for the warm welcome but I would like to ask some questions regarding out quest.'' Kayne was the only one who was walking right beside the village chief and keeping up the same pace.
''This is the least we can do, after all, you will be dealing with a demon, and you can ask anything, I will try to answer the best of my abilities.'' The village chief gave Kyane a friendly slap on the back as he smiled.
''Great, then could you tell me when was the demon spotted, do we know for sure it is a demon, and where it was spotted?'' Kayne started with some simple questions, when, where, and is it really a demon.
''Well, first off its a high chance it is a demon, because the people who had spotted it, all say that the creature looked like a demon.'' The friendly smile of the village chief despaired and in its place came a serious expression. ''Now, it might be some weird beast but there is a really high chance it is a demon.''
''The demon usually is spotted near the tree line where the forest starts, as it lurks between the trees and is usually seen watching the village, and the only times it had been spotted by one of us is in the middle of the day.'' As he said the the village chief looked at the sky, but soon after looked back at Kayne. ''Another thing is that a few days back it started to kill our farm animals, they aren't protected by the wall, so the far off barns get broken in at night, and the next day we see gutted and bloodied corpses of one or two animals.''
''It's starting to affect people, there are some that are afraid to leave the walls even in broad daylight, so I and the rest of the village are really glad you came this soon.'' As the chief talked about it Aella looked around and saw many villagers giving them looks, either with interest or hope. ''This village had fought its fair of monsters but a demon is on a whole different level.'' Hearing this Kayne nodded, because it was common knowledge that even a low-level demon is still a force to be reckoned with.
''Well, enough about the demon, for now, you all are probably tired so you should get some rest.'' While saying that the chief went into one of the buildings, it was a two-story building made out of wood, and by the looks of it, it was an inn. The inn wasn't anything out of the ordinary so the group gave it a quick look before they went inside right behind the chief.
''Hi, Anny.'' Chief greeted the receptionist who was cleaning down the counter. ''Can you get these guests settled they're here to take care of the demon problem.'' The brown-haired receptionist hearing this stopped what she was doing and took a look at the party, who was just standing there.
''Of course right this way.'' Seeing that they looked decent for adventurers Anny didn't hesitate and started to lead the upstairs.
''Well have a nice rest, I will see you tomorrow!'' The chief gave them a smile and a wave and left the inn. The party gave their goodbye to the chief and started following Anny with Kayne in the lead.
''So how many rooms would you like?'' While slowly making their way upstairs the brunet asked them about their accommodations. Kayne took a quick glance over the party and then answered with, ''Three will be enough.''
Anny registered his answer with a nod and then led them through the second-floor corridor. She only stopped when they were almost at the very end of it. ''Here are the rooms, please get comfortable and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.'' With a gentle smile, Anny showed them their rooms and then went back to doing her own thing.
''Well, you heard her, let's get settled.'' With that, the group split up, with Aella and June in one room, Hubert and Kayne in another room, and the last room got occupied by the lovebirds.
