Chapter Twenty Two: New Realm

The carriage rocked back and forth as it drove across the rocky path to a small mountain village. Here he was, after days of riding and walking with Kyra, who had refused to wake up, on his back. It was tedious, tiring, and painful, but Gabriel moved forward.

Wavering was not an option. They had finally reached the opening of the Longforn realm. A realm that was known for its massive landscape and endless number of kingdoms, towns, cities, and villages. He also knew that it was far more advanced than Alderon, both in magic and technology.

His late mother once joked that it would take thirty long years before anyone finished their exploration of Longforn. Alderon was definitely minuscule compared to the other two.

He hadn’t learned much about Oveadale, but that wasn’t his fault. History books barely existed in that realm. Gabriel shook his head before his mind took him down a path of unanswered questions and intriguing mysteries.

His eyes then moved down on the unconscious girl, and he slowly moved her bangs from her face. She looked better, but still horrible. Cilia had told him that he would need to force feed her nutritious foods and force her to rest when she woke up.

The first part was something Kyra would do in a heartbeat. The young warrior could eat. However, if Kyra wasn’t cutting and slicing into something, he knew she could go insane.

Kyra was an angry person. He knew her family life was the cause of it, but now that Kyra had practically slaughtered the last of her immediate family, he thought she’d calm down.

However, he could see that she was simply getting angrier as each day passed. Gabriel wanted to travel with someone who was level-headed and respected his way of dealing with things. So he knew what he needed to do.

The prince had to get to the root of Kyra’s problem and help her deal with it. That was the only way he could get through to her.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Gabriel’s eyes moved away from the girl and towards the carriage’s windows. The scenery was bleak, with heavy snow coating every piece of land.

The trees were withered and bare, with cottages spaced out across the land. In the far distance, he could see the large grey mountain looking over the cottages, kind of like a protector. Its icy tops were light blue with a hint of white. Unique.

However, what caught the prince's attention were the small railway tracks attached to mountain sides.

“How interesting.” He commented.

“What is?” Kyra’s groggy voice reached him. The golden-haired prince’s attention snapped towards her, and he smiled. I grinned more like a cheshire.

“You’re awake!” He spoke a little excitedly. His loud voice reached her ears like a sting, and she hissed.

“Too loud.” She murmured. Gabriel apologised before grabbing her shoulder and propping her up. The young girl’s world was spinning for a bit; however, it went back to normal just as quickly.

“Where are we?” She then asked, rubbing her eyes.

“Lomia Village is on the outskirts of Hylia Kingdom. We’re in the Longforn Realm.” He replied.

Kyra’s eyes widened.

“How long have I been knocked out?” She then asked.

“About a week.” He answered, his grin wavering as a look of shock coated Kyra’s face.

“Why would you let me knocked out for that long!?” She yelled just as the carriage came to a stop.

“I don’t know. You can’t just whizz an unconscious person awake now, can you?” He threw back at her.

Kyra let out a groan before slowly getting out of the carriage. Gabriel did the same, paid the coachman, and watched as the carriage rode off into the distance.

Kyra broke out in shivers, her teeth chattering as her feet froze. She wasn’t in the right attire to walk around in the weather.

Being out of the carriage allowed Gabriel to get a better look at the area. The mountain tops weren’t icy like he thought they were. Rather, it was two massive pale blue castles built at the very top. There was also a deep valley between the mountains with more buildings.

The prince looked away, opened up his inventory, changed into a winter white fur cloak, and got one out for Kyra too, in black, however.

“This should keep us warm until we book a two-bed inn.” He spoke, handing the coat cloak over to the young girl. It covered her body, and some of it dragged across the ground, once again putting into perspective just how big Gabriel was.

“Lord, don’t you have any smaller clothes?” She joked. Gabriel chuckled, and the two continued down the muddy and rocky road.

They finally reached the valley town, and Kyra gasped at how beautiful it was. The duo stood on top of the cliff and walked down the steps that lead down to the village. Children played, and adults watched on happily as they did. Rows of restaurants, bakeries, taverns, and inns stood side by side. The crunchy sound of snow as they walked became soothing for the prince.

All Gabriel could think was,This would be the place where he would break through to Kyra.

And all Kyra could think of was stuffing her stomach with a large amount of food.
