Chapter five Shinso

Denkis still alive? Y/N said he wasn’t able to write anymore, what did that mean? Did he even still like me? Did he even remember me? So many thoughts ran through my mind as I sat there, staring at the tv, not really paying attention to it though. As I sat there with Y/N and Eri, I got a bad feeling in my gut, but I wasn’t sure what it was, so I just ignored it for now.

I missed Denki...a lot. Even if I was only six, I still fell for him...hard. I started to hum softly which was something I didn’t do very often.

“You have a really pretty voice!” Eri exclaims, giggling.

“Huh?” I ask, getting pulled out of my thoughts.

“Your voice, when you hum, it’s really pretty!” She explains.

“Thanks Eri,” I say, glancing over at her. I then caught a glimpse of Y/N and frowned, she looked exhausted which worried me. She never wanted to let her illness get in the way of her fighting, but the fighting took so much energy out of her. Our parents, Eri, and I always tried to talk some sense into her, but she was too stubborn to listen. “Y/N, you should go lay down, you look exhausted.”

“I’m fine,” Y/N says, waving me off, and I sigh. I could tell she was lying, I wasn’t that stupid.

“Y/N, if you don’t go lay down, I won't talk to papa about letting you go into the woods.” She looked at me, disbelief on her face as she stood up, pouting a bit, as she headed to her room.

I turned my attention back to Eri who was frowning, “will Y/N be ok?” She asks, softly.

“She’ll be fine,” I say softly, hoping to reassure Eri, even if I didn’t know myself. Eri and I continued to watch TV for a few hours, until I felt her body fall on top of me. I looked down and chuckled softly, she had fallen asleep. I gave a small smile since no one was around, and picked her up, carrying her to her room. I laid her down, covering her up, giving her; her stuffy, turning out the lights, I left the room, leaving the door cracked.

I then made my way to Y/N’s room and knocked, wanting to check on her. “Come in,” she says, sleepily. I open the door, walking into her room, sitting down on her bed.

“How ya feeling?” I ask, quietly.

“Fine, I guess,” she shrugs, but I knew she wasn’t telling the whole truth.

“Eri’s worried about you, and so am I.”

“Don’t waste your time worrying abo-.” Y/N stops mid-sentence and begins to cough violently.

“Y/N!” I exclaim, putting an arm around her, I laid her down gently. She was shivering, even though she was covered up, which wasn’t a good sign. I felt her forehead and she was burning up! I cursed under my breath, and quickly ran to the bathroom, getting a cold, wet rag, heading back to her room, I placed the rag gently on her forehead.

I then ran out of her room, and knocked on my parent’s door. “Come in,” I hear my father say, so I open the door, walking inside.

“Y/N’s running a fever again,” I explain, not wanting to waste any time.

“Damnit,” My dad mutters, as he goes to stand up, but my father pushes him down.

“You need rest, I’ll take care of Y/N.” papa says.

“What about Eri? Someone needs to keep her away from Y/N so she doesn’t freak out!” My dad argues, and I decide to chime in.

“She fell asleep while watching TV with me, so I put her to bed, she’s fine.”

“Now that you have that information, will you please rest?” papa asks my dad.

“Rest is for the weak,” my dad says, sighing.

“Shota please, just rest, you need and deserve it!” Papa pleads.

My dad sighs, sitting back down on the bed, “fine.” Papa sighs in relief, and pecks my dad on the forehead, before walking out, gesturing for me to follow.

I followed him out knowing he would most likely need help with Y/N, who likes to be stubborn. We got to Y/N’s room and walked inside. Seeing she had gotten herself more covers, papa sighs, taking all but one off of her, causing her to pout.

“I’m so co-” She gets cut off with a violent cough before groaning and finishing her sentence, “cold.”

“Y/N, you need to fight the fever and I’m being nice to let you have one cover.” Papa says, and Y/N pouts. Y/N layed there, groaning and I was really worried about her. This once was worse than usual.

A few hours later, Y/N fell asleep, so papa and I left the room, went to our rooms, and went to sleep as well, since it was pretty late.
