Chapter eighteen Shinso

I’m worried about Y/N, I wonder if there’s a way I can help her stay out of these stressful situations. That’ll be really hard through, especially with how stubborn she is. She always wants to be in the middle of battle. I sighed as I laid down, trying to think of a way to help her, when an idea came to mind. Maybe if I can talk dad into letting her go to Kirisima’s again, she won’t be stressed! She’s always really happy when she’s around him! Grinning to myself on the inside, not letting myself show emotion, I laid there, wishing I could fall asleep. I’ve always had trouble falling asleep, but I’m not sure why. I’m always tired, and it’s really annoying. I never actually enjoy myself, always being tired, well except for a few times. The few times I enjoy myself, even if I’m sleep deprived, is when I’m around Denki, no matter how tired I am, he makes me happy. I let thoughts and happy memories of Denki fill my mind, and I find myself smiling, which is something I didn’t normally do. After a good few hours, I find myself drifting off to sleep.

What felt like a few minutes but was actually a few hours, I woke up for the day. I didn’t want to get up, but I knew I had to, so I got up and got dressed for the day. After going downstairs, I saw dad and papa getting breakfast ready, Y/N and Eri weren't down here yet, so I walked over to them. “Dad, papa, I talked to Y/N last night, and I have an idea of how to help her.”

“Go on,” dad says, not sparing me a glance.

“Well she seems the happiest when she’s around Kirishima, so maybe if she spent more time with him, she wouldn’t be as stressed,” I suggest.

“That makes sense, but are you sure you aren’t just saying that so you can see Karminari?” Papa asks, smirking.

“No, that thought didn’t even cross my mind,” I replied.

“Oh, well anyways, Shota, what do you think of this idea?”

“I don’t know if I want Y/N going off on her own to a castle in the woods, especially if she can’t use her quirk, she isn’t great with hand-to-hand combat.” Dad says, still not looking up.

“What if Hitoshi went with her?” Papa suggests.

“I would feel more comfortable with it, but Eri would miss them both terribly,” dad says, causing me to sign internally, I’m starting to think he’s making up random excuses so that Y/N and I don’t leave.

“Shota, we need to do what’s best for Y/N, what if she went up there for a few days and came back?”

“We aren’t letting her spend the night at a boy’s house, I don’t care if Hitoshi is there or not.”

Papa sighs, “you really think they’d do something with all the people-er objects, or whatever they are, living there?”

“You never know,” dad shrugs.

“You’re hopeless.” Papa says.

This caused dad to roll his eyes, and turn to me, “Go get your sisters, it’s time for breakfast.”

I sigh and nod, walking upstairs to Eri’s room first. I announced I was coming in, just in case she was already awake, and waited a few seconds before opening the door, and over to her bed. ‘Eri,” he says, going to shake her awake, frowning when he doesn't feel anything. “Eri?” He calls out, in a panic, she normally stayed in bed until someone came and got her! There was no answer, as he ran downstairs, “dad, papa, Eri’s gone!”

“What?” Dad asks, his head snapping in Shinso’s direction.

“Eri’s not in her room, and she isn’t answering when I call for her.”

Dad growls, and papa looks at me, “go wake up Y/N, then get ready, we’re going to find her,” he says, as they go and get ready.

I nod, walking up to Y/N’s room, and knock, “coming in,” I call out, opening the door. Y/N was curled up in her bed, clutching her cover tightly. “Y/N,” I whisper-shout, uncovering her. She was still asleep and looked like she was having a bad dream. I gently shook her awake and heard her grunt. Sighing, I shook her harder, “Y/N, you need to get up, Eri’s in trouble.”

Y/N instantly shot up, “Eri’s in trouble?” She asks, her eyes wide, “Where is she?”

“No one knows, she’s missing actually.”

“Missing!?” Y/N screams out, standing up, I’m glad she was fully dressed.

I nod, “you should probably get ready, we’re going out to look for her.” Y/N nods, and goes to get her hero costume. Even though she can’t use her quirk, she still has a hero costume. I leave the room to go get ready as well, “dad, where’s my scarf?”

“I don’t know, check Eri’s room, you know she likes to pretend to be like you,” dad calls back. I nodded and headed to Eri’s room. Looking around, I spotted my scarf on her desk chair. Chuckling to myself, I grabbed the scarf and headed to the living room to wait for the others. Once I got to the living room, everyone was already there. “Y/N, before we leave I want you to be careful, don’t use your quirk if you can avoid it.”

Y/N rolls her eyes and crosses her arms, “yeah I know,” she grumbles, she probably didn’t plan on listening to that advice to be honest. “Let’s just go, we need to find Eri,” she says, walking out, with dad, papa, and I followed her out.

“Any ideas on where we should start?” I ask, looking up at dad and papa.

“No idea, but maybe she’s somewhere in the woods?” Papa suggests.

“Either that or…” Y/N trails off, her eyes widening in terror, “Dabi’s house! He could have kidnapped her to lure me in!”

As soon as Y/N stopped talking dad growled and narrowed his eyes, “if he hurts her at all then he's gonna pay…” He then takes off towards Dabi’s house, the three of us following behind.

“Y/N!” I call out, grabbing her by the wrist, “you sholdn;t follow us to his house.”

“What? Why not?” Y/N asks, annoyed.

“Because, knowing Dabi he’ll target you, it’s too dangerous!”

Y/N scoffs, “who cares about danger? If there’s any chance Eri could be there, I have to help!”

I sighed, “no you don’t, I’m sorry about this.” I mutter, pressing on the pressure point in her neck, causing her to fall unconscious. I gently laid her against the fountain and ran off after dad and papa, not wanting her to get hurt.

“Where’s Y/N?” Dad asks, once I caught back up.

“I convinced her to stay back so she’d be safer,” I lied.

Dad looks at me skeptical, “she’s too stubborn for that, where is she?”

I sigh, “I knocked her out against the fountain so she’d be safer.”

“You do realize she can’t protect herself now, right?” Dad asks, raising a brow.

“I uh, didn’t think about it that way,” I chuckle nervously.

“I want you to go back and look after her, Hizashi and I will handle this,” dad demands. My eyes widen in surprise but nonetheless, I do as he says and turn my direction towards the fountain. When I got back to the fountain, I was surprised to see that she wasn’t there, I could have sworn I knocked her out so where is she? I sigh and start searching for her, hoping she hadn’t gone too far, when a thought comes to mind, she probably went towards Dabi’s house! Hoping she was safe, I ran towards the direction I came from.
