Chapter 11 - A Lot of Questions

Chapter 11 - A Lot of Questions

They wordlessly agreed to meet in Hanna's room since they’d done a number on Kyle’s. After they entered, her alien brother fiddled with the lock, likely double-checking that the door was locked.

Hanna sat on her bed while Kyle turned her office chair around to faced her then took his own seat.

“You must have a lot of questions…”

She nodded.

“You’re taking this a lot better than I thought you would. Especially after...”

“Well, you’re not wrong.” She grinned. “I think you should start by telling me what happened to the real Kyle.”

He bit his lip and hesitated. “Right now? He’s injured but safe.”

“What happened?” She steepled her hands and focused on every nuance she could pick up from this alien.

“Kyle was in a horrible car wreck. He was about to die. He actually would have died, given the level of your medical technology. Since I needed a live person to grab memories from, I was planning to choose the other person in the accident, but your call made me try to save him. And it worked.”

Kyle was alive! Thank fuck! She had been half worried that he’d died in that accident and his pure little soul had left the world too soon. She let out a relieved breath. “In that case, I’m glad you’re here.” After licking her lips, she continued, “But here’s the question, why are you here?”

“Crash landed.”

She grimaced. “I mean, I kind of expected that. What I want is information. Who you are, who your people are. What your plans are now that you’re here.”

He hesitated.

She smiled. “Come on. Gimme the information. I’m not your enemy and as long as you’re not doing anything immoral, I won’t try to stop you... not that I could.”

His Adam’s apple bobbed. Maybe just one more push would do. She stuck out her lower lip and silently pleaded with him with her wide-open eyes. This usually worked on Kyle, but she didn’t know if it would have the same effect on an alien who might not understand human beauty.

He turned away from her for a moment before kneeling in front of her and staring into her green eyes with ones of a similar color.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“I’ll tell you, but you have to promise that you won’t be afraid of me.”

“Isn’t it a little late to ask me to not be afraid after you’ve already had your tentacles up my—“

“Hanna!”

“Are you planning on hurting me or my family?”

He shook his head.

“Then why would I be afraid?”

He swallowed. “My species are the Tov. We naturally live for hundreds of years and are part of an alliance of races we call the Federation Alliance. The Federation is currently at war with a race known as the Lusandai.”

She frowned but waited for him to explain.

“They are a race of shape-shifting beings that many species find beautiful. Perhaps because of this, they believe their genetic makeup is perfect. Especially since most all races except mine can be impregnated by them. Of course, those races then birth a shape-shifted Lusundai. One with genetic memories and an engrained mission to continue to spread their genetics throughout the planet.”

She quickly connected the dots. “Hold up there, alien Kyle. You’re telling me that these guys are essentially committing the slowest, weirdest genocide in history on a galactic or universal scale?”

After looking like he was thinking with his mouth hanging open for a second, he then said. ”Essentially.”

“Alright, continue.”

“I’m not the only being that crash-landed here.”

Looking horrified, Hana quickly stood up. “You’re telling me that one of those impregnating alien douchebags is on my planet, possibly sowing the seeds to my species’ destruction right now?!”

He nodded.

“You’re here to stop him then?”

“Of course... At least that’s the plan.”

She sat back down. “Then why did you think I would be scared of you?”

“I’m not here on a journey of friendship, Hanna. My goal is to kill a living, sentient being. Technically, this particular Lusandai hasn’t even done anything wrong yet (probably), but I still need to kill him, in cold blood. And I will do it... If I were you, Hanna, I’d be scared of me.”

She grinned and took his handsome face in her hands and kissed his forehead. “I’m sorry, that you have to go through this, Kyle. It sounds horrible. But, also, thank you. This is a very complicated moral issue. While I’m not okay with killing someone who hasn’t done anything bad yet, I do think that, together, we need to find this guy and cockblock him like my species depends on it.”

“Your species does kinda depend on it.” He waved his hand away and sat down next to her. ”I’m not sure how you can help, though. No offense, but you’re not a warrior. As far as I know, you don’t know any self-defensive moves either or you might have been able to evade my ten drills for a few seconds.”

She sent him a glare for that sly insult. “I’m not trying to fight anything. But what I am, is hypersensitive to... discovering people getting busy. I’m very aware of it, to the point where it’s distracting. If anyone can find a jerk just before he’s about to fuck and cockblock him, it would be me.”

“...”

“What?” She thought she’d been very clear.

“You’re hypersensitive?”

"When it comes to those types of incidents, yes.”

“Prove it.”

She checked the time to make sure the shopping center would still be open then stretched to see how her body felt. While a little sore, she felt amazing! Maybe having an animated body had some advantages.

“Okay, let’s go to the shopping center. We’ll probably find something there. I’ve also been meaning to pick up a few things. But when I come back, you need to help me study!”

“Alright.”
