1: The first mistake?

*Chapter 1: A Stray Dog *

Kagami's life was the very definition of ordinary. A high school student with an affinity for blending into the background, he considered himself the epitome of a regular guy. His days were a monotonous cycle of classes, homework, and the occasional hangout with friends. It was a life of comforting predictability. It wasn't much, And he wasn't really happy about it. But it was kinda enough.

On a sunny afternoon, Kagami walked home from school, his backpack slung over one shoulder, and his mind occupied with thoughts of his upcoming days. He hardly paid any attention to the world around him, until he saw something that made him stop in his tracks.

A stray dog, a scruffy mix of breeds with soulful brown eyes, was sitting on the sidewalk, regarding Kagami with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation. Its tail wagged in a friendly greeting, and it looked like the embodiment of canine charm. Kagami for some reason couldn't resist the pull of those expressive eyes.

It was like the time stopped and he was walking in slow motion, he felt happy.

"Hey there, buddy," Kagami cooed, crouching down to the dog's level. "You look like you could use a friend and some belly rubs."

The dog responded with a joyful bark and bounded toward Kagami, tail still wagging. Kagami's heart melted as he reached out to pet the dog's head.

It felt surreal.

Little did Kagami know that his act of kindness May end up setting off a chain of events that would take his life from ordinary to extraordinarily bizarre.

As Kagami lost himself in this unexpected canine encounter, playing and petting to his heat content. he remained oblivious to the cosmic disruption that was about to occur.

A shimmering light, radiant and surreal, descended upon the sidewalk. Kagami blinked, shielding his eyes from the brilliance, as the light coalesced into the form of a stunning woman. She had long, flowing golden hair that seemed to shimmer like spun gold, and her attire was an elegant, ethereal robe that exuded an otherworldly aura. An enigmatic presence surrounded her, making her look like a character from a dream. Or a Goddess descended onto the world.

Kagami could only stare, his mouth slightly ajar. He had no idea whether this was an elaborate prank, a hallucination, or something far stranger.

The dog, however, seemed unfazed by the arrival of the ethereal woman. It wagged its tail and nuzzled Kagami's hand, clearly more interested in the petting session.

It in fact didn't care about the woman whatsoever.

The enigmatic woman cleared her throat melodramatically, her cerulean eyes fixed on Kagami. "Mortal," she intoned with a voice that carried the weight of the cosmos. And seemed to wrap reality itself.

Kagami, still petting the dog, responded with an absentminded, "Yeah, what's up?"

The woman blinked, taken aback by Kagami's casual demeanor. "I am Astaria, the Goddess of Light and Protector of the Multiverse."

Kagami glanced at her with mild interest. "Nice to meet you, Astaria. I'm Kagami. And this here is my new friend. Mind like moving away or something? Your light kinda blinding" He scratched the dog behind the ears, causing it to let out a contented sigh.

Astaria's couldn't understand nor believe what happening, Her patience was already fraying, and she decided to assert her divine importance. "Mortal, do you not realize the gravity of this situation? I have chosen you as the Chosen One, destined to save my world from impending darkness!"

Kagami paused, blinked, and then returned his attention to the dog. "You serious? Please leave I am not interested."

Before Astaria could react, Kagami's world shifted once more. This time, he found himself sprawled on the ground in an entirely new and surreal world and place, his backpack replaced by unfamiliar clothing, and the dog still by his side although he Shimmered a bit.

He looked around at the fantastical landscape that he was suddenly transported to, then back at Astaria, who was floating above him with a smug expression.

"Okay," Kagami said with a resigned sigh, "I guess this is happening... Actually what in the not interested part you didn't understand?"

Little did Kagami know that his act of befriending and playing with stray dog could lead to a series of hilarious misadventures in a world beyond his wildest dreams.

(Was that a trap? If it was he was already in it).
