The city was quite festive. People are everywhere and stalls on the sides of roads. Everyone around you, you could hear people chatting.
"This is where we part ways," Flora said as we came to the Tamer's Guild. You could borrow Tamed breasts from the Guild to travel and give them back to the Guild in another city. "If you wish to find me, please ask for me at the Adventurer's Guild."
After parting with Flora, I started eating at every other stall. For a foodie like me, this was the best place. So many stalls and all kinds of food. I even bought a Spirit Fruit, these are fruits that grow on trees in which a Dryad resides. Just a single fruit cost one Gold. However, after I ate it I knew it was worth it. Not only was it extremely tasty but it also
{A Spirit Fruit (Chora) was consumed: 10,000Exp ( 1000Exp × 10) received}
I asked the store owner about it and he chuckled. "That's the reason these sprit fruits are so famous and expensive. You think it's just the taste? Nah. While they taste great, the main reason to eat them is the Exp you get when you eat it the first time."
"Wait I'll only get it once?" I asked.
"Well you'll get more Exp if you eat another but the more you eat sane fruit the less you'll get. You should eat different ones when you have a chance. You'll get good experience then. But as you can see I only have Chora's here's. Even those only 3 left."
I thought about it and didn't buy the rest. While I could still get Exp and had enough money. I could get exp by doing Guild tasks and Monster hunting as well. And it's not like I'll get another 10,000 Exp.
Thus I asked the store owner if he could recommend any decent inn to me. He pointed opposite the road. Just across his store seemed to be an Inn. I probably haven't seen it because my brain was only thinking about food. There was a large sign there "Kheeba's Inn".
The inn wasn't a poor one nor the expensive one. Perfect for me, 5 silver a day with meals included. They also had a bath. While running water wasn't hard here due to Magic Items, which you could use to simply create Water. Baths were hard to find in small inns because you could just use water in the bathroom to wash. While I say bathroom, it was usually just a western toilet with a water basin.
As I've been studying Magic Items at the magic guild for a few days I knew how the water system worked. These items were very simple and cheap. They only needed a simple magic circle and a water element stone.
Element Stones were called stones but were more jelly-like things. These can naturally be born at a place where an element is in abundance. They are just more solid for an element.
While it was true that you could find them at these places. Most of the supply actually came from Dungeons. You see in a dungeon when monsters die they leave rewards for defeating them. While their body is eaten up by the dungeon. Element Stones were quite common drops in Dungeon.
One of the reasons that Runburg is flourishing for Adventures is actually a Dungeon. Around 6 Km far from the city is the Nemrtvy Dungeon. It's an undead-type dungeon and usually filled with Adventures.
I wanted to know more about dungeons however I didn't find any book that tells what exactly a dungeon is. Some described the different types of dungeons but none on how they are made and things like that.
I hope I find some in Runburg. For now, I went to have a long sleep.
The next morning I received a Summon from Marquis Nathaniel de Vangulis. The lord of this city and well also all other cities I've been in. And I think also Flora's Dad. She did mention I'd be rewarded so I went ahead to the Lord's Residence in the Inner district of the city. Of course, I had first taken a bath and gotten ready.
The noble district had a lot of houses. You needed permission just to get inside this district, however with the person who came to pick me up. I was allowed entry quite easily. In the Lord's Mansion, I was led to a room after they checked me for weapons and such. In the room was a young man, at most 30 years old. However, according to the guy who had led me here, he was the Marquis. I didn't think Flora's father was so young so just out of curiosity I used Appraisal on him.
{Appraisal of the individual was blocked due to the influence of a higher level skill}
{Due to the influence of Demon King (Hidden Class) some of the information was forcefully acquired}

{(Individual Nathaniel de Vangulis has forcefully blocked specific information from being shown}
Name: Nathaniel de Vangulis
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Title(s): [Noble of Makkara Kingdom]
[Shield of Makkara]
This was all the information I could find. I had used the skill while I greeted him thus he started laughing. "Good, good. You should always be cautious about these things. But to think you were able to get some information even though the Level difference is this much. You truly are worthy of Flora's praise." He seemed to find it funny. I was actually quite nervous. I should think before using Appraisal nowadays. What if someone gets offended.
"Come sit, have some Tea," he said and looked at a maid behind him. Who came with two tea cups immediately. While I had seen Tea in this world, I had not tasted it yet. The reason was simple. As an Indian, the tea we drink is Masala Tea, while the one that this world had was made in European style. Just boiling tea leaves and putting some homey in it. While some might like it, those who had had Masala tea would always think of it as leaf juice.
Thus I drank the tea while feeling disappointed. This did not go unnoticed by the Marquis. "You seen to not like tea? Would you like something else? " He asked politely.
I had not thought that Nobles will be like this, I was definitely imagining some guy who's too arrogant to even talk to commoners directly.
"Well, I love tea however I like it made in a different way. In our home country it's made quite differently and thus this tea while quite good, does not suit my taste."
This seems to amuse him. "Is that so, you do seem to come from South of the continent. Would you mind sharing this recipe with us?"
I obviously obliged and suggested "Then please let me make one right now first and see if it suits your taste"
While making Masala Tea was not hard, to do it perfectly on the first try would be hard. Thus instead of telling the maid how to make it. I went ahead and made one myself.
After boiling water, tea, sugar, and milk. I started adding some spices such as ginger and black paper. It took me more than 10 minutes to perfect it and thus I asked the maid to serve it.
The Marquis was astonished. Of course, I wasn't the best cook but making tea wasn't hard in the first place. It was mostly about the recipe. But for the Marquis, it was the best tea he had ever had.
"I never thought you could make tea in such a way, not only does it has the fragrance and refreshment of tea but the spicy and sweet combination is also amazing. "
After talking about tea for a while we moved to the subject of Tut town and what happened there. According to the Marquis, there was someone on the inside involved and he had already sent an Investigation Team for it. As for my reward.
"Here, this is the shawl of Vangulis house. As long as you show this to someone of authority. They will know that you have the support of our house. The emblem on the Shawl is a magical one, thus anyone with Mana can see if it's real or not. However, I would suggest you keep it to yourself and not sell it or get stolen. "
I said my thanks and waited if there was anything else he wanted to say. When he didn't say anything I asked his permission to leave. "Oh no, you're the only friend my Flora has made so far. You're staying for lunch. Flora should be coming back in an hour or so as well. "
I didn't think Flora considered me as a friend. Or maybe the old man(who looks quite young) misunderstood something. But it'd be rude to decline so I accepted his invitation for lunch.
"You see due to her being a noble's daughter and being talented that she surpassed all those in her age. She has hardly talked to anyone of her age. I was getting quite worried for her, after all, she's already so old and isn't even engaged."
Oh yeah, in this world people usually got married when they're 16-17 years old. Especially nobles, because of political marriages. "That girl, so distant. Anyway tell me would you like to join the army? A mage of your class is quite welcomed in the army."
I thought about it but it'd be too troublesome so I just declined. "I have a free spirit. I don't think the army would suit me, Sir."
"Ho, I can see that. Isn't this your third town this month? However, I couldn't find where you came from before. Where did you enter in the kingdom and such things." He got serious all of sudden. Then asked, "Are you a spy from another kingdom?"
{Encountered the Skill [Gaze of Truth]: you're compelled to speak only the truth}
{A Demon King can not be compelled. You're free to speak anything}
{The Skill [Gaze of Truth] has been intensified. Hidden Class (Demon King) has neglected all effects of the Skill. Hidden Class (Demon King) has hidden its efforts. The individual attacking has been falsely notified that you're under the effect of the Skill [Gaze of Truth]}
{Due to the Influence of the Skill [Schooler]: Skill [Gaze of Truth] has been learnt]
"See even you can not hide the truth. Now, are you a spy?" He asked again.
"No, I'm not a Spy" I replied calmly.
Suddenly his gaze turned back to normal. Even more friendly. "Ho, good to know. Now at least I can be at ease. Since you aren't a spy. I wouldn't ask you unnecessarily questions such as where you came from and such." He said smiling. "We all have secrets after all."
Thus I got out of the suspension. To be honest I didn't even need to lie. So fighting against the skill Gaze of Truth was unnecessary.
As for what the skill does. Well after I got it I found out. Depending on the level difference you can force someone to speak the truth. The more the level difference, the more effective this skill is. So for the current me, it wouldn't be of much use.
