*Knock Knock*
I jumped out of bed at the sound of someone knocking at my door. I forgot that I was at an Inn and for some reason thought I was back in my apartment on Earth. I was so lost in my own thoughts like usual.
I walked over and opened the door to see a girl, at most twelve in age, standing there. “Hello, can I help you?” I asked.
“Yes! Uhm, momma told me to let everyone know dinner is ready! You were the last one.”
Momma must be the woman I had met when I first entered the Inn. “Thank you, I will be down shortly,” I said with a smile.
The girl blushed slightly and nodded. She turned on her heal and skipped away.
Once I made it to a table, the little girl from earlier brought me food and let me know that if I wanted anything else to let her know before scampering off. The meal she set in front of me was a large slab of meat she said was orc meat and a side of vegetables. I was a bit hesitant to dig into the orc meat, so I ate the vegetables.
“You know you will never get any bigger if you don’t eat any meat.”
I turned around in my seat to see Clyde standing there crossing his arms. “Oh, its just you. You can join me if you’d like, there is plenty of room at the table.”
Clyde sat down across from me and stared at me. It didn’t matter what I did, his eyes never left me. Just as I was about to get up and leave, he spoke.
“You’re some kinda noble, huh?”
I let out a sigh, “what makes you think that?”
Clyde brought a hand to his chin as he thought for a moment. “Your eyes. Earlier today when my men were laughing at you, you shut them up with just a look. Not often do I see that happen.”
Hah. My eyes. I was incapable of making many friends in my past life because of how harsh my eyes were. The few friends I did make tended to make fun of the situations I tended to get myself in to. There was even a time when I tried helping a lost child find their parents and only made them cry even more. I spent a few hours being interrogated because of that. Not a fun time. I hope my eyes didn’t resemble how they were in the past.
“You are making a mistake. I am not a noble, this is just how I am as a person.”
He narrowed his eyes at me then relaxed in his seat. “If you say so. Did you get signed up at the Guild?”
I smiled and pulled out my Guild Card, “I sure did! I haven’t picked up a job or anything yet, but that’s because I want to make it to a city first. I have three days here then I will be heading out.”
“You shouldn’t be so quick to tell people when and what you are doing. That is something you need to learn. You never know when someone is listening, and you never know what others are trying to do when no one is looking. You sure you aren’t some nobles kid?”

“I am not some nobles kid! Seriously. You think I would be out by myself if I was?”
He laughed causing me to glare at him. “No need to get all angry with me. And you would be quite surprised at how many noble brats run away from home and try to make it as an adventurer. Anyways, you should seriously eat that orc meat. You won’t grow an inch if you don’t.”
That brought me back to my plate. I poked the orc meat with my fork, not sure if I should eat it or not. “What does an orc look like?”
As he explained it, they basically look like a giant boar with four tusks. He said they range from three to six meters in height, and four to eight meters in length. To move it properly, a group would have at least one person with a Garage Bag, which is an enchanted bag capable of carrying many items without added weight to the bag. He said each bag could carry a small house worth of items. I asked him how much this cost, and he told me they range from one gold to ten gold a bag based on the materials used to make them and the enchantment added to it. He even told me that there are some bags that could carry ten times the number of normal ones, but those were said to be worth one hundred gold coins easily. These bags are a basic requirement for groups of adventurers who wish to push past rank-C.
Then when asked about currency, he happily explained that to me as well. Many jobs available for me only offered bronze coins, so I was curious on how many jobs I would have to complete just to afford a roof over my head. Ten bronze coins could be traded in for one large bronze coin. Ten of those would make one silver coin, which I had one hundred of this morning. Ten silver coins would make one large silver, and ten large silvers could be traded in for a single gold coin. There are platinum coins as well, but one hundred gold coins would be needed to trade for one of those. Even if you had one, not many people used them for trades or rewards.
By the time Clyde finished talking, I had completed my orc meat and it was starting to get late. “If you need anything, ill be here for another day. Drop by the Guild and I’ll talk to you about whatever.”
I thanked him and headed upstairs. I learned quite a bit today. Especially about the price of enchanted bags. Enchanted bags are something I wanted to sell myself. Having the Item Box was a huge advantage for me, so of course I wanted to find a way to make a profit off it. I also learned it would take me at least a dozen requests of rank-E requests to earn enough for a single night at the Inn.
Maybe I can hitch a ride with Clyde and his men to the city. Then, when I’m there, I could make some sales or try and apply to work under a merchant. I just need to make it to the city first.
Before I knew it, I had passed out.
The next morning, I heard knocking at the door.
“Five more minutes,” I grumbled.
“Breakfast is ready! Should I bring it up to your room?”
I heard a young girls voice on the other side of the door. I opened my eyes slightly and was met with an unfamiliar ceiling.
Huh? Where am I? I know I don’t have a girlfriend, or even a sister, so who exactly called out to me?
I sat up and took in my surroundings. Once my eyes adjusted and I saw the room I was in, anxiety took over for a moment before I remembered that I had been reincarnated. Yesterday must have felt too good to be true, and it still does honestly. I just hope I get used to this before too long.
“If you can bring it up to my room, I would appreciate it. I have a few things I need to work on.”
The young girl yelled out “okay” and ran down the hallway. I readjusted myself on the bed and thought about what I need to do today. First, I needed to find Clyde and ask the price to take me to Dalzia. I would prefer to go with him since he seems like a good guy. After working out the details with him, I will head to some of the local shops and do some market research. I will need to purchase some paper if it is sold in this village, and a pen too. I don’t think having any hope of finding pen and paper in a village is good though, I can’t get my hopes up over that. And finally, I will head back to the Inn and test out some more magic.
Now, I wait for my breakfast.
