“Ailluin!”
When I woke up, I yelled out my own name. I remember trying to tell Delimira my name since I never properly introduced myself. Yelling out my name must have been a continuation of that thought before blacking out. But my name, what is up with that? That name isn’t Japanese at all.
I sat up and looked at my surroundings. I was outside of a forest and a couple hundred meters from the closest path.
Huh? Has my vision improved? I thought to myself. I could notice small details hundreds of meters away. This caught me off guard, but this must be something Delimira gave me to make it easier on me in the world.
I stood up and stretched. I checked my body to make sure nothing was wrong with it. I had boots on that went up to the middle of my shins, a leathery sort of pants that were grey in color, a white dress shirt, and I had a backpack close to me. I could tell my height barely reached 155cm, the same height of the Goddess. So, does she think a ten-year-old is this tall? I could only laugh. I will be sure to grow in the future.
I picked up the backpack and reached inside. There was an envelope and a mirror. I checked my reflection in the mirror and smiled. My eyes are light purple, and my hair is platinum blond, nearly white in color. I am a rather handsome kid if I do say so myself.
Next, I opened the envelope and saw that it was a letter for me from the Goddess.
To Ailluin,
I changed the name you familiarize yourself with to help you along in this world. If your Japanese name had become well known across the lands, there is no telling what sort of trouble would come your way. Japanese names are synonymous with summoned heroes, and I could tell from your memories that you would not have liked to have people worshiping you.
The Skills I granted you with are as followed:
1. Enchanting
2. All knowledge of crafting and crafting material.
3. Universal Magic- Capability of casting all kinds of magic besides Dragon magic and Spirit magic. Those two you will have to obtain by yourself.
4. Body Enhancement- I made sure you will be stronger than the average human to increase your survivability.
5. Dimensional Storage- Also known as Item Box.
6. Linguistics- Capable of speaking all languages.
7. Limitless Growth.
Good luck!
-Delimira
Wow, Delimira really hooked me up, I thought. She gave me everything I asked for and then some. I understand why she changed my name, but I was still a little upset about it.
I concentrated for a moment on my Item Box and a small list of items popped up in my mind. I had one hundred small silver coins, my mirror, and a dagger. I took out the dagger and placed it on my hip. It had a convenient clip on the sheath making it easy to put on and take off my pants. I tested out pulling out my coins and placing them back in repeatedly until I was used to the feeling. It would make it easier for when I’m in a city or something so I could keep my money away in my Item Box.
I picked up my pack and headed towards the road. It didn’t take me long to get there, and I wasn’t feeling tired one bit, so I continued along the road towards a village I could see off in the distance.

Two hours had passed, and the sun was now raising high in the sky. I had no water, and I was starting to get hungry. I wanted to jog since it would be faster, but I didn’t want to cause myself to become dehydrated faster or to tire myself out. I sighed and continued to walk.
Another hour had passed, and now I heard something like the clomping of horse hooves. I stood to the side of the road and looked to where it was walking from. What I saw was different from what I had thought id be seeing. There were three horses leading a caravan of carts with three more horses in the back. The men on the horses were armed with swords, bows, staves, and other weapons straight out of a fantasy world. This caused me to smile like the child I am and wave at them. They were still a few minutes of walking distance away from me, but the person in the lead must have noticed me and waved back.
They finally reached me and the man in the front put up a hand to stop the group from continuing. “You, boy, what are you doing on the road alone?”
The man who asked the question is either in his late teens or early twenties. If he had more facial hair then I would have assumed he would be in his late twenties, but the lack of wrinkles tells me that he is quite young. He is easily thirty centimeters taller than I am, and his broad shoulders and solid build show the years of training he has put into what he does for work.
I smiled at the man, “my name is Ailluin. My parents passed away when I was seven and I had basically been on my own ever since. We lived out in the sticks, barely anyone even lived near us, and I thought that I would travel to the city closest to where we lived. So, I took what little food and water I had and started walking. Now I’m here.”
“If you’re looking for the closest city, then that would be another week worth of walking from here. Do you have enough food and water to last? If not, do you have money to make it?”
“Gah!” I exclaimed.
My reaction must have been funny because the others started snickering. I glared at them, and just like back on Earth, my glare shut them up rather quickly. “Hahaha, well then. No need to be upset, we can take you to the village ahead. If you want a ride to the closest city, then you will have to work for it. Do you have any skills?”
“Skills?”
I asked that while tilting my head. I know I have the skills the Goddess gave me, but I just said I come from the sticks. I want them thinking I am some country bumkin.
“Yes, skills. Something that will get you work. For references, I am rather capable of detecting monsters and people so defending caravans has been something I’ve been doing for a few years.”
I brought my hand to my chin in fake contemplation before I let out a loud “oh!”
“I can use magic! I am not too sure how helpful it would be, but I can cast a few spells at my age.”
“Ah, a mage. Mages are not too common this far from the city. Well, we can bring you to the village. If you want to go to the city with us, we will make you work on the way there and test to see if you are of much worth. My name is Clyde, the leader of this group. From front to back, it’s…”
He told me all their names, but I forgot them almost immediately. Clyde is a nice person, but the rest just look like people I wouldn’t get along with. Especially since they had just laughed at me. As for the merchant they were tasked with protecting, her name is Estella, and she just took over the company from her parents. She is twenty years old, and she told me the main product she trades in is crops. She told me that many merchants trade in crops to make enough money to get an actual business going inside one of the major cities. I had asked her why her parents never did, and she just smiled and told me that sometimes things just don’t go the way they wish them to go.
We made it to the village, and I parted ways with the caravan. The village is quite large and even had an Adventurer’s Guild in it. There had to be at least two hundred houses and several stores. It was not some small village I was thinking it might be. The name of the Village is Beltan.
The Beltan Village is only a two-day ride by horse from the city of Dalzia. According to Clyde, Dalzia and Beltan are part of Baron Arthur Ironbound’s land. This is important information, so I made sure to remember what he told me. Next, he told me to head to the Adventurer’s Guild to find some sort of work. He said I could sign up there and get some form of identification even at the age of ten. He said that I wouldn’t be able to do monster hunting work, but there is work for me to do. Even in a village like this.
