Chapter 10 - The Bloody Sisters Incident (part 5)

‘They’re moving way too fast for their status’

‘What’s with that battle aura rivaled that of a war demon?’

‘Why did the mascot turn into a literal gremlin?'

Those thoughts would have passed her mind, if they were fighting normally.

But, what happened next completely voided her mind of such thought.

*SPLAT*

Upon making contact with Martia, Violet immediately thrust her sword forward, and immediately gouges out her heart, as it dangles on the tip.

In retaliation, Martia completely pushes herself in further, and delivers a straight punch to her gut, ripping it apart to the side and splattering her entrail to the floor.

Taking advantage of their moment of weakness, Blanc immediately jumps toward the height of their neck, and rips out their throat with the swipe of her claws. To take even further advantage, she spins himself horizontally, and use her tail to slash away at their eyes, permanently blinding them.

Yet, seemingly undisturbed, both of them raise their fist and blade toward Blanc's position, with Violet directly gouge away from Martia's body, leaving behind a massive open wound. Seeing that they're going to rip apart her entire body from wings to tail, she decided to unleash a devastating breath attack toward them, accurately burning their heads into cinder, before the blade and fist completely eviscerate her, turning her into chunks of flesh falling down to the floor.

[Player “Unnamed1” has died]

[Player “Unnamed2” has died]

[Player “Unnamed3” has died]

This all happened in the blink of an eye.

Before she can even fully recognized the scenes in front of her, the only thing she has seen, is the splattering sound of the puddle of blood, the pile of lifeless bodies, and a notification that they have died.

“W-Wha-”

[Reviving Player “Unnamed1”…]

[Reviving Player “Unnamed2”…]

[Reviving Player “Unnamed3”…]

Before she can react to anything, however, the system immediately revives their corpse, reverting them back to their original state.

This is the boundary between worlds, where nothing exists except the void of nothingness.

Nothing within the world of Isekai Online can reach here, not even the power of life and death.

As such, the player, before their registration process is complete, felt neither the blessing of life, nor the silent grasp of death. They stay in the state where neither life nor death is applied, and are effectively immortal. Their body a mere temporary construct, which can be destroyed and brought back over and over…

Well, outside of the lore explanation, the real reason is so that the player wouldn't just accidentally off themselves in the middle of their testing, and kick themselves out of the game. A safety feature in order to bring convenience and comfort.

Though, it sure doesn’t bring any comfort to the one watching all that is happening, not being able to react in times to look away.

They turn into an angel, harpie, and fairy, as they took turns ripping each other's wings apart and flung onto the ground.

They turn into a giant beetle, soldier ant, and hornet, as they smash open their exoskeleton, hard or soft, and flay opens their inner and brain matter.

They turn into elemental, ghosts, and demons, and they mercilessly ripped their spiritual core out of their body, and crush them into particles.

[Player “Unnamed1” has died]

[Reviving Player “Unnamed1”…]

[Player “Unnamed2” has died]

[Reviving Player “Unnamed2”…]

[Player “Unnamed3” has died]

[Reviving Player “Unnamed3”…]

….

Again, this all happened in a fraction of a second.

All that she sees between her blinking eyelids, is the pile of dismembered body parts on the ground, the mounting pool of blood, and the message running through her view at an ever-quickening pace.

The way they tear through each other, is that of a devil.

With the way their battle spirit just keeps increasingly rising up as they relentlessly sip their blood, and drink their sinew, it's obvious that one could be mistaken as a scene from hell.

And yet, seemingly ever thirsty for more, they go through each other at an even faster pace than before.

Soon enough, they turn into a blur, as they instantly die and revive in such a short time span, that it looks like they're both dead and alive.

The blur, and the reviving special effect, could perhaps allow her to escape the horror before her eyes.

But, the blood, inner, and spiritual component of all shapes and sizes, shooting near her position and almost hitting, doesn't allow her that peace of mind.

It was like trapping within the carnage between gods of war, as her sense simultaneously become numb, and petrified within the terror of the three killings each other for countless of times.

Yet, what shocked her even more, isn't all the blood and gore.

Angel like her, are the ones who ultimately deal with the life and death of all mortals.

As such, they inherently gain the capability to see through a person’s true nature, glimpsing the color of their soul to know the depth and properties of the one they will sort through the afterlife.

What she sees through her eyes, isn't "Black".

She secretly wishes they were.

For if they were cruel sinner, who lives vicariously through the suffering of others, or apocalyptic threat who would threaten the world with pure evil, that would have been an easier explanation.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Instead, they were “White”.

An endless, pure expanse of white.

They were not fighting just for the sake of it.

They were not eviscerating, just to inflict pain.

Instead…

“Hm,the species's innard is working as intended. It's unusual how spiritual-based entities don't have multiple cores to prevent personality collapse though...Is it to preserve their integrity through having only 1 central command?” (Violet)

The older sister said, still keeping the same calm expression

“Big Sis~~, We just finished testing out all the possible permutation of stat allocation that we can do for now, and checking through all of their scalings. Now the next thing to do is to test possible status degradation." (Martia)

The younger sister said, still keeping the same bright smile

“Kyu! (Like how flaying the skin decreases the END stat, huh...So far, we can see how the system itself is more realistic than we expected. Guess I can freely tickle everyone then~~)” (Blanc)

The mascot pet said, still keeping the same playfulness

Occasionally, she could hear them casually talking with each other, as if they were just players testing out possible builds for their character.

That is absolutely true, and they're also testing how realistic the world they will join in would be.

But that truth immediately run counter to every single thing she learns about all the mortal she personally knows.

(They’re literally just testing!? They don't even turn off their pain inhibitor... is testing pain responses to each different gutted body parts, part of their experimentation, too??) (Tessa)

(And without that pain inhibitor, how the heck can they still act like usual? I thought all mortals are afraid of pain and death, despite occasionally acting otherwise!? At least they should have a much more drastic response like any normal being do!)

(Fucking hell, with the way they act like it was just an excursion afternoon, it almost makes me believe it was so, instead of horrific twisted torture in the 9th layer of hell!)

They were acting with love, trusting and enjoying themselves enough to let down their guard, so that they can freely disembowel each other apart.

They were acting with curiosity, hoping to learn even more about the world they will soon join in, by literally digging the gut of it out of themselves.

They were acting with pure passion, void of any dark thought or interest, nor with any deviation of their mental state at all, even when their physical form gets ripped over and over.

In short, they prove their tranquility, despite and because of them committing acts that would make even the most apathetic god feel squirmy in their stomach.

The color of their soul is “White”

They have proven themselves to be good and kind people.

Yet, their thought is completely inhuman.

(No...more like, I don’t think they match up with anyone I know at alll!!)

Terrifying strength.

Complete and efficient savagery

A kind and positive demeanor, filled with empathy. (with quite a bit of playfulness)

An enlightened mindset that cannot falter against anything.

If they were just wolves in sheep's clothing, that would be easy to think of.

If they were just innocent children knowing naughts of good and evil, that would be a much more satisfying explanation.

But the truth is neither of that.

(They’re...they are goddamn monsters!)

They simply don't feel like living beings, who have mortals concern of life and death.

They instead feel like alien abominations, beings that's completely detached from all the common sense in the world.

Their goal feels both indescribable and mundane.

They don’t concern with life and death, as if they’re beyond life and death. Yet, they also freely act like they’re among the mortal they will live along.

To call them monsters that just simply act like humans to get along is too cheap of an explanation.

They’re monster that willingly are human. Yet, they also never hide away the part that makes them horrifying from the world.

They’re an honest eldritch being.

And they could ruin the world, just by being themselves.

Finally, the longest 15 minutes of her life are nearly coming to a close.

“(Speaking of, they really does do 90,000 status change in that short amount of time huh…)”

100 times in Isekai Online.

300 times, in the outside world.

A practically unassisted brain, being able to carry out 300 stat change commands in 1 second, is practically absurd for most human minds.

Simply put, try counting from 1 to 300, fully, within 1 second.

Now, imagine doing it for as long as 5 minutes.

And add on to that, doing any single of their countless string of slasher-art tier combat action, while also being able to explicitly test and record down their result as well.

Like Tessa said before, it would fry any human brain just due to fatigue from repeating the counting task alone.

It would send them to the ER due to excessive brain damage, if anyone else try to replicate what they did unassisted.

This is why the VR pod itself secretly support the health of the player in the background in a multitude of way, one such of which is connecting their mind to a built-in processing unit which will discreetly be taking out the calculation load for the player themselves, when the system detected potential information overload.

In a sense, the augmentation of the INT stat partly has something to do with the hidden brain augmentation system installed within the pod. The higher the INT stat, the more the system supports the brain, at least early on...

As expected, some have tried to exploit that system itself in the past, but that’s a story for another time.

“(But, in the first place, their INT stat is already 0)”

This means, aside from the support necessary to accelerate their mind to 3 times the speed, they have not received any further aid from the system itself to perform their task, without tripping up the safety switch that would have kicked them out.

"(...Though I personally doubt they would have triggered even the basic speed augmentation either.)"

Tessa secretly thought, reconfirming just how monstrous they were.

Again, in the span of a single second when she thinks of all of those thoughts, the three of them return back to their "original" form of 2 human-looking girls and 1 pet dragon.

They also obtained the title of [Master of Accuracy], [Master of Movement], and [Master of Form], while they were in the middle of their excursion from hell.

Though personally for her, it just feels like a footnote at this point.

DEX: (0)*130% = 0

INT: 0*120% = 0

Unallocated base stat:100

Unallocated bonus stat: 300

]

Finally, they have reached the (completely unnecessary) Perfect 0 stat.

For any other player, this is probably one of the worst statuses they could get in their entire life.

After all, it's easy to imagine what happens when a literal squishy 0 stat baby would become when hit with even a breeze.

For them, however…

“As expected, our physical avatar does feel weaker…” (Violet)

“But, in exchange…” (Martia)

“Kyu! (We feel a lot more freedom!)” (Blanc)

After stretching around for the final time, the trio freely exclaimed themselves as such, before going into their battle mode again.

Violet prepare her blade.

Martia raises her fist.

Blanc holds her breath.

As expected, before her eyes, their pose holds no meaning.

After all, with only a stat of 0, no matter what they do, they shouldn’t be able to exert anything onto the world.

But, she knows better.

And hence, she held absolute belief that they absolutely can do something.

Their action held absolute conviction, to quake the world asunder.

And so, their “blade”, their “fist”, and their “breath”, collided in the middle.

The empty action that now suddenly holds immerse weight, not only imprints the image of a great mighty attack onto the fabric of the world, but also the impact of one.

The forces that now found itself concentrated in the center, become a giant sphere of white, that generates a great expansive force toward all around, pushing at the empty space itself.

The sphere rises up, as it also grows in size, slowly but surely. As it rises to enough height, the sphere that now seemingly grows as big as the sun, explodes brightly, and briefly overturns the endless darkness into a neverending white.

As Tessa looked on above the white sky, instead of even more shock, she just have a resigned affirmation.

“(...Now I see why those girls wanted to test their power in this place, where nothing in Isekai Online could reach them)” (Tessa)

“(If they were to throw this attack onto the planet of Modon, it will be able to carve a giant part of the planet apart.)”

As Tessa noticed the trio waving at her as they come closer, Tessa reflexively wave back with a nervous half-frighten smile.

"Now that is done, I guess I could say all the things that we wanted to test in here have been done.” (Violet)

“Angel sis~~! We’re ready for registrat- Um, why do you stand so far away all of the sudden?” (Martia)

Finding that Tessa is standing a mile apart from them, Martia asks out in wonder.

“...O-Oh, sorry! Let me come over to complete your registration.” (Tessa)

Despite that, Tessa only found her feet moving even further away from them, each time she wants to move closer.

“...Eh? That’s weird, I swear I want to come closer, haha…” (Tessa)

“Don’t worry, angel sis~~. It’s a very normal occurrence for any person witnessing one of our more intense training. Just stay where you are, and we will come at you sloooowly~~!” (Martia)

“(It’s a fucking normal occurrence for people to be scared out of their wit against you three!?)" (Tessa)

Despite screaming out of her wit, Tessa nevertheless listened out to them, and tried to stay put, as they gradually come closer…

She knows they aren't bad people, but…

She knows they wouldn't harm her at all, considering how considerate they are with not letting any fallout of their action touching her, but…

After what she has witnessed today, it's too imprinted upon her mind, that their shadow looks like the shadow of the great abyss itself.

And now whenever she looks at their honestly open eyes, they just straight up look like a portal to the darkest depth.

And so, just as when the trio finally managed to come close to her at last…

“…H-Hiiiii!!! I’M SORRRYYYY!!!” (Tessa)

She immediately opens her wing and flies away.
