Chapter 389

CHAPTER 389

He grabbed Caitlin by the wrist and wouldn't let her leave, but she shook off his hand forcefully and dashed for the door.

As a result, a scene of her running while he chased behind her was played before the others. As she was rushing, she couldn't dodge in time and ran right into a man's chest when she reached the lobby,

Her forehead was already in pain from the injury, and after this hard knock, it was hurting even more, and she became dizzy, feeling as though her world was spinning.

Thus, she reflexively grabbed the man before her to steady herself so she wouldn't fall, but before she could recover, the woman who was with the man gave her a hard shove. So, she lost her balance, fell, and her palm scraped on the floor, sending a jolt of burning pain.

Yet, the woman who pushed her wasn't satisfied with her disheveled state. She stood in front of the man and shouted at Caitlin arrogantly, "Do you have any idea who he is? The nerve of you to pull such a ploy! Where is security? Hurry and throw out this shameless woman!"

Because he was waiting for the elevator, Lucian arrived a little late, and when he made it to the scene, he caught sight of a woman shoving Caitlin to the ground.

He lost his temper at the sight as his brain set aside all chivalry and the idea that men shouldn't lay a finger on women. He didn't hesitate to storm over as he lifted his leg and kicked the woman fiercely.

Grayson was downstairs to pick up Ann; while he was having dinner with his buddies upstairs, Ann suddenly gave him a call saying that she was downstairs and wanted to look for him. So, he came downstairs after he had informed Sebastian.

Actually, Ann didn't have any business with him. She said that she had asked her friend out to go shopping, but she got stood up. Bored, she bought some food and planned to go home, but when she was hanging around the area, she remembered him mentioning that he would be having dinner with his buddies in Club Tempest tonight. Thus, she called him because she wanted to share the food she had bought.

On the other hand, he had already guessed that all these were merely Ann's excuses. Her real aim was to look for him and join him for dinner.

Despite that, Ann was the goddess he had been carrying a torch for a long time. So even though he knew her intentions, he was soft-hearted and let her have her way, inviting her to join them upstairs.

She readily accepted the invitation, and he led her in, planning to take her to the private room upstairs. Still, a woman unexpectedly dashed out of the elevator when they were in the lobby and knocked right into his chest.

Before he realized what was happening, Ann lost her temper and pushed the woman to the floor.

The man who came chasing after was furious when he witnessed this scene with his fierce eyes. He didn't hesitate as he lashed out and kicked in Ann's direction harshly, but of course, there was no way Grayson could watch Ann receiving such harsh treatment. So, he reached out to pull her out of the way, narrowly dodging the attack.

That man's kick landed on nothing, and he directed all his fury on Grayson instead. Since he couldn't just stand there to take a beating, he started a fight with that man right then and there.

At the same time, Joel, the foodie, thought that he would be able to eat a lot before the food was served, but when more than ten dishes arrived, he was full after having a couple of mouthfuls from each plate.

Now that his belly was full, he couldn't sit still anymore, and after asking his parents for permission, he dragged his brother and went out to play.

He liked the blue piano on display on the first floor, and he was very tempted to play a song on it, so he dragged Quincy to the first floor after leaving the room.

Thus, he whirled out of the elevator in excitement, which was where he saw Grayson right away before seeing the piano. "Aldo, Uncle Grayson is in a fight with somebody!"

Fred and Simon, who were accompanying them, also saw the scene, and Fred instructed Simon, "Watch the children while I help Grayson."

The boys from the Hart Family were exceptionally skilled, but the man fighting with Grayson now had a really vicious look in his eyes now, as though Grayson had murdered his parents. Ruthless and precise, his moves were well-trained and efficient. With just one glance, Fred could tell that he was a good fighter, and he was worried Grayson would lose.

After he instructed Simon to look after the kids, he lunged forward to help and wanted to take over for Grayson.

Grayson was a medical student and a highly educated person. So how could he win in a fight?

Fred stormed into the fight without bothering for explanations as he launched a punch at Lucian's temple, thinking of taking over Grayson's position to fight Lucian while he retreated to defend himself.

It's just that he didn't know that Lucian was not alone.

When Lucian chased after Caitlin, Theodore, Jared, and the others were worried that they would get into another argument and went after them as well.

While Lucian and Grayson were fighting one-to-one, they didn't butt in and checked on Caitlin instead, helping her up from the floor and checking her wounds. As the fight progressed between Lucian and Grayson, a helper suddenly came in from the other party, infuriating Theodore and the others.

Two against one, weren't they ashamed at all? Were they picking on Lucian, thinking that he had no one else?

Gilbert was closest to the scene as he dashed over without a word and stopped Fred.

"Woah!" Joel's eyes widened. "Fred is starting a fight with someone as well!"

A speechless Simon thought, Why does it look like this little master isn't afraid at all and seems rather excited instead?

He wasn't worried about his brother, but rather, he was concerned about Grayson because his hands were precious and shouldn't be injured at all costs.

Nevertheless, his task was to protect the kids, and he couldn't set them aside to help out. So, he

pushed a button on his Bluetooth earphone and said, "Quinton, Grayson is in a fight with somebody on the first floor. We need backup."

"Aldo, Aldo!" Once again, Joel discovered a new situation and shook Quincy's arm as he pointed at Caitlin. "That's Miss Caitlin!" Before Quincy could answer, he held his hand and dragged him toward her. "Miss Caitlin!"

The instant Simon noticed that Joel was pulling Quincy toward the 'battlefield', he didn't dare slack off from his 'duties' as he worried they would be dragged into the fight. Therefore, he hastily followed behind them to ensure he could protect them from a stray hit.

"Miss Caitlin!" Joel trotted before her and lifted his head to look at her. "Why are you injured?"

Quincy released Joel's hand as he lifted his arm and called Madeline using his wrist phone. "Mommy, Miss Caitlin is on the first floor, and her forehead is injured."

"What?" Madeline rose to her feet with her phone in hand as she murmured to Sebastian, "I'm going out to take a look."

After he gave her a nod, she rushed out with her cell phone. "Aldo, what happened? Caitlin is injured?"

"Yes," Quincy answered calmly. "Miss Caitlin's forehead is injured, and it's bleeding. She looks pale and doesn't seem clear-headed, but she has friends who are concerned about her. So don't worry too much, Mommy."

"Okay, I got it," Madeline said. "I'm going over to look for you now. Take care of yourself and your brother, alright?"

"Okay, Mommy," Quincy said and hung up.

Caitlin felt dizzy, but she still looked down and was surprised to see Joel, who was calling her 'Miss Caitlin'. "Buddy, what are you doing here?"

"I came here to have dinner with Daddy, Mommy, Aldo, and my uncles." He furrowed his brows as he worriedly regarded the injury on her forehead. "Miss Caitlin, why are you hurt? It's really painful, isn't it?" Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

"I'm fine." She squeezed out a smile as she bent forward and caressed his face. "I haven't seen you in a while, Buddy. We're really fated to me, aren't we?'
