Chapter 9; Storage Bag

Chapter 9; Storage Bag

The other crabs emitting powerful auras had left, leaving behind a young crab still in the Qi Refining stage. The young crab handed Crab a permit and a storage bag.

"This is a storage bag, and my name is Xie Jian," the young crab said.

Crab looked confused. "What's a storage bag? And what's a name?"

Xie Jian smiled. "A storage bag is a special item that lets you store various things inside it, even though it's small on the outside. You can carry a lot of items without needing bulky containers” &

"A name is just to differentiate between people," Xie Jian explained. "It's a way to identify and distinguish one individual from another. Just like how every crab looks different, a name gives us a unique identity so we can tell each other apart easily.”

Crab nodded, beginning to understand. The two of them started moving through the city. Crab saw a city full of crabs, numerous caves, and many females, which made his eyes shine with excitement.

Xie Jian noticed his fascination. "Keep the permit; it will help you pass through formations," he said. "Now, if you want to advance to the next level, there are only a couple of methods."

Crab's curiosity was piqued. "What methods? Please tell me."

"The first method," “if you are a direct descendant of a powerful bloodline. For example, my father is at the Golden Core stage, so I have bloodline inheritance up to the Golden Core level."

"The second method is if you are willing to serve high-level bloodline creatures," he continued. "They can grant you their bloodline inheritance, but they can only do this a few times in their life since it requires a special process, which I don’t fully understand."

Crab listened carefully as Xie Jian went on. "The third method is to create your own method, like humans do.

Xie Jian said, "Although I don't know much about them, I read in a book about a demonic beast who couldn't cultivate even though he had a powerful bloodline inheritance. To solve this, he did a lot of research and created his own cultivation realm, which went against the heavens. He gave his clan members, children, and wife this technique to cultivate. Later, he disappeared for some reason. Now, millions of years have passed since then."

Crab's eyes widened with interest. "Really? That's incredible!"

Xie Jian nodded. "But let's leave this topic for now and continue from where I was.”

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Yes, Although it is said that we demonic beasts and humans follow the same realms, it is different for every species. Heavens have set restrictions on different species in different ways. For example Humans with only spiritual roots can cultivate, but we are dependent on our bloodline.

"Our bloodline is the limit or restriction set by the heavens," Xie Jian explained. "Those insects you see can't even cultivate by themselves, but once they do, they become disasters."

Crab's eyes widened. "Then, if our crab bloodline limit is Qi Refining, does that mean we crabs become very strong later?"

Xie Jian sighed with disappointment. "Not exactly. Our potential is limited by our bloodline. Even if we reach the peak of Qi Refining, we can't easily break through to higher levels without extraordinary means.”

"The first method is not possible for you," Xie Jian began. "And the third method is impossible."

Crab's eyes widened with concern. "Then what can I do?"

Xie Jian continued, "The second method is the most suitable for you. To follow the second method, you need to do one of these three things."

Crab listened intently, his curiosity piqued.

"First," Xie Jian said, "give precious spiritual medicines to people who can grant you those inheritances."

Crab nodded, trying to grasp the concept.

"Second," Xie Jian explained, "become a servant of those beings, as they can only do it a couple of times in their lives."

Crab's eyes widened further. "A servant?"

Xie Jian sighed, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Yes. My ancestors were once servants of the Dragon King, and they received the Golden Core inheritance, which has been passed down through our bloodlines. I am somewhat of a dragon too.

Crab looked confused. "But you look like a crab."

"Although I look like a crab, my bloodline is of a dragon, but a weaker one," Xie Jian clarified. "Even if I achieve Foundation Building, I could be suppressed by dragon clan members with noble bloodlines."

Crab looked worried. "That sounds dangerous."

Xie Jian nodded solemnly. "There are high chances you will be forced into battles, but the second method is still the best. Finding precious medicines is one thing then, negotiating with those with strong bloodlines who can give you inheritance are different things altogether."

Crab glanced around, noticing the other crabs moving about. "This whole crab city...?"

Xie Jian's expression darkened. "This whole crab city here is a servant of the dragon clan."

Xie Jian continued and said "Yes, and several cities in the entire ocean are related to powerful species."

Crab tilted his head, curious. "What species?"

"There are many species in the ocean," Xie Jian explained. "Dragons, merfolk, and Krakens. And there are some other species as well."

Crab heard this and started thinking deeply. He was soon disturbed by Xie Jian, who pointed to a large building. "This is the library," Xie Jian said. "You can go there and think more. It has lots of records that our people have recorded for the past 10,000 years."

Crab's eyes lit up with curiosity.

Xie Jian smiled seeing this and said, "Take your time and learn all you can.”

Crab came into the library and saw lots of books. He picked a random one. These books were made from special materials; if normal paper were used, it would have torn from the crabs' sharp claws. The book he chose was titled "History of Crabs."

Crab started reading, but after a few chapters, he gave up. "This is boring," he muttered to himself.

He began wandering around the library, thinking about his options. "I don't want to be a servant," he thought. "Being a servant means being ordered around and possibly dying for someone else. I just want to live a carefree life."

He sighed, feeling frustrated. "And I don't know how to get spiritual medicines. They must be rare and hard to find."

Crab paused, considering the third option. "Creating my own realm, like humans... Could that really work for me?"
