Chapter 2; System

Chapter 2; System

As midday approached, Zhang Ming still hadn't awakened. Li Xiu and Zhang Wei decided to take their son to Mr. Shu. Mr. Shu's house was located in the core area of the city, and it took them 10 minutes to reach there.

Upon arriving, they stood before Mr. Shu's residence, a grand structure with ornate carvings on the wooden doors, surrounded by a well-tended garden that exuded an aura of tranquility. The house was an impressive two-story building with jade tiles and intricate lattice windows, befitting a cultivator of Mr. Shu's status.

Near the entrance, a small courtyard served as the area where Mr. Shu conducted consultations and addressed cultivation-related issues for the city's inhabitants.

A guard stood at the entrance, and as they approached, he stated, "20 spiritual stones for a consultation, and only one person can go in."

Li Xiu, with a worried expression, pleaded, "Hello, sir. I want my baby to get checked. Can I go in together with him?"

The guard looked at Li Xiu and, seeing the desperation in her eyes, said, "Alright, go ahead."

Li Xiu handed over 20 spiritual stones and entered the courtyard while Zhang Wei waited outside.

Inside, Li Xiu saw Mr. Shu, a handsome cultivator at the peak of Foundation Building. He wore elegant robes embroidered with symbols of the Azure Lotus Sect, exuding an air of calm authority.

"Mr. Shu, please look at my son. He has not awakened for a long time," Li Xiu said, her voice trembling with anxiety.

Mr. Shu nodded and gently took Zhang Ming from her arms. Although he could have checked the child’s condition immediately with his spiritual consciousness, he performed a physical examination to comfort the worried mother. After a moment, he used his spiritual consciousness and quickly identified the issue.

"His consciousness is damaged," Mr. Shu explained. "If he were a Foundation Building cultivator, it could repair automatically. But since he is a mortal, he will require a precious elixir to repair it."

"What kind of elixir?" Li Xiu asked, her heart pounding.

"The Soul Rejuvenation Elixir," Mr. Shu replied. "It is worth 1000 spiritual stones."

Li Xiu's face turned pale. "One thousand spiritual stones?" she whispered in shock.

Mr. Shu nodded sympathetically. Li Xiu, holding Zhang Ming close, thanked Mr. Shu and left the room.

Outside, Zhang Wei anxiously asked, "What did he say?"

"Let's go home first," Li Xiu replied, her voice heavy with worry.

After arriving back at their home in the outer city, Li Xiu turned to Zhang Wei, her face etched with worry. "It will require 1000 spiritual stones to cure him."

Zhang Wei was stunned. "One thousand spiritual stones? Our savings are only 100 spiritual stones."

"What do we do now?" Zhang Wei asked, his voice filled with despair.

Li Xiu sighed deeply. "We have no choice but to abandon the child in the mortal world. We can give some gold and silver to mortals to take care of him."

Zhang Wei paused, considering her words. "But how will they feed the child if he remains in a coma? Here, we can sustain him with our spiritual energy, but in the mortal world, he will die of hunger."

Li Xiu thought for a moment and said, "It all depends on the child's luck now. Let's put him into a basket and set it adrift in the River Qing. This river is very popular, with many people passing by. Maybe he will catch the attention of someone powerful who can repair his consciousness."

Zhang Wei, also struggling with the decision, nodded. "We can't keep feeding him our spiritual energy. We are working hard in the cultivation world and can't spare more time."

At night, Zhang Wei prepared a basket, covering the baby with warm clothes. He carefully placed Zhang Ming into the basket. As the river's flow began to carry the basket away, he placed a half-locket around the baby's neck, keeping the other half with him. "I hope we can meet again," he whispered.

The basket floated down the River Qing, its destination unknown.

After some time, a message appeared in front of the baby:

**System is loading...**

**System loading complete. Detected host consciousness is damaged. Repairing host consciousness...**

**Done.**

Zhang Ming woke up and thought, "Where am I?" However, the words that came out of his mouth were incomprehensible baby noises. Realizing he couldn't speak properly, he looked down at his body and discovered, "Oh shit, I’ve been reincarnated as a baby."

In his past life, Zhang Ming had been a normal person until one day, a lightning strike killed him. Now, a window appeared in front of him:

---

**System: Eternal Talent Enhancement System**

**Name:** Zhang Ming

**Race:** Human

**Skills:** None

*Note: It is recommended that the host eat food.*

---

When Zhang Ming saw his status, he thought, "Wait, my system doesn't talk and it's called the Talent Enhancement System. Will it improve my talent? Isn't it like those system novels I've read where it just shows progress and improves my talent speed in learning skills? And if I acquire similar skills, it will help me merge them and improve those skills too.” and Why is my name Zhang Ming, and where am I? It feels like I’m in water. Wait, have I been abandoned like those protagonists in novels because their parents were killed?" He pondered over this possibility, thinking, "If it’s like this, then soon I would be picked up by a kind lady."

As he floated down the River Qing, his basket eventually came to a stop. Someone had caught it with their hand. Zhang Ming, in his baby tone, tried to express his hunger, "Now give me food quickly," but the words were still unintelligible to anyone listening.

{Author's Note: The system improves talent. Someone asked what kind of system it is in the help chapter so for anyone else doubt I solved here😅. Also, it will not talk; it will just show a screen of progress, maybe talk in future}
