94. Young Blacksmith

94. Young Blacksmith

Meng Lin walked out of the restaurant with a small pout on her face, she had spent her last remaining spirit stones on the meal.

She hadn’t expected Feng Yue to have left without paying, she cried crocodile tears at the thought of her last spirit stones.

Luckily it was just the meal, and not the reservation for the entire floor, Meng Lin pitied herself, ‘no wonder the floor was empty, but why did Feng Yue waste so much spirit stones just for that.’

‘It’s a good thing I snatched that young boss of the bandits’ with the hundreds of Orchid Spring Flowers in the storage bag, she could probably make more spirit stones than what she lost these past days.

That’s 15 spirit stones per flower and she has more than three hundred of those kinds of flowers.

As she walked through the sect she couldn’t help but think about the conversation a few minutes ago.

“The Nether Cloud Domains, it strangely has the same name as my bracelets from the system, I wonder it they have any connections”

‘A different dimension, full of treasures and dangers, it’s a lot like those events that happen in cultivation novels, hopefully it’s not as dangerous.’

Arriving at her courtyard, Meng Lin saw someone waiting for outside the barrier.

It was a young man wearing the standard white robes of inner sect disciples, however on his chest was an emblem, a different emblem.

With dark circles around his eyes, the young man looked down at the floor, his focus elsewhere.

Meng Lin frowned, wondering who he was, he was clearly only at the peak of the qi gathering realm and yet he was an inner sect diciple.

"Excuse me, you are?" she asked, approaching him with a curious gaze.

“Oh” The young man was startled awake before turning to her and cupping his fists in nervousness. "Greetings Senior Sister, my name is Ruan Lee, umm, ah… you requested a mission right”

Meng Lin raised an eyebrow. "Yes, are you a blacksmith?“

Ruan Lee nooded, pointing to the symbol on his chest.

“Alright, let’s exchange here then, do you have your notes”

Ruan Lee nodded again, handing over a thick journal that looked like it had seen better days.

Meng Lin raised an eyebrow at that, she had mentioned in the mission about a more detailed version, she didn’t think it would look like this.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

She took the journal and flipped through the pages filled with detailed notes and experimental logs and closed the book with a satisfied smile, turning to Ruan Lee she said.

“This is excellent work, it will help a lot” Ruan Lee looked at her in surprise, he thought that she was going to be like the rest and refuse him, he couldn’t help but worry.

“Umm, yes” Not knowing what to do he scratched the back of his head with a nervous smile.

“Here” Meng Lin said as she took out a small bag. “Inside is the mission reward, you can get the sect points from the sect at the sects mission building”

Ruan Lee nooded before taking the bag to look inside.

After taking a look inside Ruan Lee’s dark circled eyes widened as he hurriedly closed the bag. “Thank you Senior Sister, you’re too kind”

Meng Lin shrugged. “Am just fulfilling my end of the bargain, Keep up the good work and continue to contribute to the sect’s growth.”

Ruan Lee nodded, quickly saying a few thanks before leaving.

As he left, Meng Lin couldn’t help but wonder about him, he seems to be not having enough sleep, and he was awfully nervous.

Meng Lin looked at the book in her hand before smiling, since it was a rewarding experience, she added 12 more Orchid Spring Flowers to the original mission reward which as it turns out was only sect points.

Sect points that she wouldn’t have to be the one to give as the sect would pay for her first mission posted as long as the reward was under 50 mission points.

Meng Lin turned to enter her courtyard while the barrier flickered to let her in.

Walking over to the pond she let out Purple, the slithering snake from her system’s beast garden.

Splash

the snake floated in the pond, seeming to enjoy coming outside as it circled the edges while splashing water everywhere.

Meng Lin took out two beast forage before tossing them inside as she made her way towards one of the untouched rooms in the courtyard.

Sitting down and positioning her body she crossed her legs before closing her eyes to meditate.

Splash

Splash

Splash

A few hours passed and she felt her mind and body rejuvenated, opening her she took out the journal given to her before she opened it to read it.

Inside was everything about blacksmithing from rank 1 to rank 3, equivalent to being able to create a low grade weapon.

Alongside it are the materials, item grades and even some unique qi movements.

Meng Lin flipped through the pages, her eyes scanning over the intricate diagrams and precise measurements. She was impressed by the level of detail and dedication Ruan Lee had put into his craft.

“This really is excellent,” Meng Li said as all of a sudden she felt that she had cheated Ruan Li of this.

Meng Lin raised her eyebrows as she was not expecting the system to change the details once again but it probably was because of herself influencing it.

Her gaze travled to the end, where she focused onto the blacksmith and alchemy.

Back then when she had received the two options as a reward from the system, she didn’t use them as they required more understanding and knowledge than what she had at the time.

But now, with Ruan Lee’s notes, and her memories from the ancestral symbol she could start to delve deeper into the world of blacksmithing and alchemy.

Meng Lin smiled to herself, feeling excited at the prospect of learning more and expanding her skills so she didn’t waste time before viewing the blacksmiths panel.
