Meng Lin sighed, feeling a bit discouraged, it has only been a single day and she had already attracted so much attention.

She shook her head, reminding herself to not think about it too much, she sat cross legged onto her bed before closing her eyes and taking several deep breaths.

She focused on calming her mind and clearing her thoughts, as she meditated, she felt her mind becoming more clear and relaxed. She focused on her breathing, letting go of any worries or distractions.

After a few minutes, she opened her eyes feeling refreshed and renewed, cultivating the mind is of great importance to a cultivator, lest they experience qi deviation.

Meng Lin then proceeded to check her storage bag, she went through the list of items one by one, double-checking to make sure she didn't forget anything important.

She had two foundation establishment pills, one from the system reward after her breakthrough to foundation establishment realm and the other from the young boss of the golden fang bandits.

She also had two concealing talismans from the system, which would help her avoid any being below the Narscent Soul Realm.

Next is a qi gathering pill, the last qi gathering pill, she had used the other two for her breakthroughs but this one she wouldn’t use it for that.

The Visionary Lamp, which would help her trace or find something that she wanted, it made her wonder if it could trace them if she thought about treasures or rare herbs.

The Nether Bracelets, a top grade item which is not only powerful but could also help her use corrosive Elemental Qi without the worry of damaging herself. She also had fertil soil, which would help provide nutrients and grow plants faster.

She has 4 Qi tendrail Flowers and 4 Purple Cloud Flowers which if combined with some other ingredients could be useful in the creation of cultivation pills.

She had 646 low grade spirit stones, which she could use to buy items or cultivate with as they are essentially small rocks filled with spiritual qi.

She also has a rank 3 gold core, the corpse of a rank 3 beast and various beast corpses ranging from rank 1 to 2 beasts, which she could sell or use to cultivate her body.

She also has the storage bag of the little boss which has the mysterious Jade box that she wasn’t able to open even now, after that is area in the storage bag mostly full of orchid spring flowers.

Meng Lin wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible, she didn’t want to associate herself with something like that.

Second to last, she had the trio of girls and one bandit in her inventory, who she felt embarrassed for, having kept them there for so long.

And lastly she also has the Soul Array, it could hide her from enemies and affect souls below the Soul Wondering Realm.

If used correctly, it could help her all the way through the Gold Core Realm so she valued it greatly.

Satisfied with her review, Meng Lin put away her storage bag and prepared to train.

She got up from her bed and decided to practice with her sword. She took out the low grade sword that she had been given and began to practice her usual technique forms.

She swung the sword in graceful arcs, injecting only a little bit of qi into it as she tried to feel the weight of the blade and the fluidity of her movements.

She practiced for 2 hours, losing herself in the flow of the movements as she went from slashing out subtle attacks to executing quick and precise movements.

As she practiced, thoughts came to her, thoughts about the girl in pink, the last she remembered of her was when the sect was under siege.

She didn’t have time to think about it but the words of the girl had left a mark in her heart.

*I knew I should have followed you there as well*

It was the last words of the girl that had made her think, surely the girl hadn’t been following her ever since they first met, if that’s the case then just how much does she know.

Her abnormally fast cultivation pace, her Brute Qi Physique or maybe even the system.

Meng Lin hoped that she was thinking too much into it however she could never rule it out.

As for the identity of the girl, that too was unknown and she couldn’t help but think about her mother.

Ever since she transmigrated, she had not met her mother and even her father had not mentioned anything about her, as if she had a died long ago.

However, Meng Lin knew that, that was not the case because even now she couldn’t recollect any memories about her.

It was as if all memories of her were blocked, leaving a few fragments of blurry shadows.

Meng Lin’s movements became more intense as she was brought back from her thought, focusing solely on her swordplay.

She felt her mind clear again as she continued to practice, and soon she was lost in the fluidity of her movements once again.

3 more hours passed, and she finally stopped, feeling exhausted but satisfied with her progress.

She wiped the sweat off her forehead and looked at the trembling sword in her sore hands.

She knew that with enough practice, any weapon would become an extension of her body, a part of her being, a dangerous level of mastery.

Meng Lin smiled, feeling a little accomplished. It had been a while since she lost herself in concentration like this and she was naturally happy with her performance.

Putting away her sword she took her sore body to clean up before going to bed.

She knew that she had a long way to go on her cultivation journey, but she was determined to continue on and uncover the mysteries of her past as well as get stronger.

As she lay in bed, she closed her eyes and took several deep breaths, focusing on calming her mind and letting go of any lingering thoughts.

She felt her body relax and soon she drifted off into a deep and peaceful sleep.

But her peaceful slumber was soon interrupted by a vivid dream, a dream in which she found herself watching someone being tortured.

Meng Lin was confused at first, not understanding why she was witnessing such a gruesome scene.

But soon, she came to her senses and tried to move, but her limbs were bound by an invisible force, and she was unable to move.

She felt the ancestral symbol pulsing through her chest in her dantian and she looked up at the scene.

The cultivator being tortured was a middle aged man, with an even build with his hair obscuring his face. He did not scream or beg for mercy, instead, he spoke with his tormentor in a calm and collected manner.

Meng Lin could hear their conversation clearly, and the voice sent shivers down her spine.

As she stood there she saw the torturer grew increasingly angry, and they began to use various methods to extract the information they wanted.

‘Stop!’

Meng Lin yelled as she watched the torturer take out out a sharp blade and begin to slice into the man's flesh, but her voice was unheard.

The scene became more and more gruesome, and Meng Lin felt sick to her stomach. She wanted nothing more than to do something but she couldn’t move.

But just as she thought it couldn't get any worse, the man being tortured suddenly turned his head to look at her.

Meng Lin gasped, feeling a jolt of fear run through her body as their eyes met and she instantly recognized the man.
