Ariana Arlford. (Meemauy)
Ariana was procrastinating. A person would think that after going to meetings for 30,000 years they would stop procrastinating going to them. Said person would be wrong. Meetings were always meant to be procrastinated.
Sadly for her, not having any work to do also meant that she had no excuses for why she was late. And that is how she was now sitting on the table alongside other dignitaries from the Grade 10 powers and procrastinating.
Procrastinating by engaging in small talk even. No one wanted to be the one that started talking about the serious stuff and it was showing.
“So, are we really going to let Corinthius allow the cutting of the Remver Forest?” one particular dignitary said, interrupting Arianna’s monologue.
“For the last time Maelus, he’s not cutting the whole forest or most of it. What he is allowing them to do, is cut off the part of the forest that has come into populated areas” another replied, the exasperation showing.
“But they are just so colourful! I have loved watching them grow!” Maelus said. The fact that he had been whining for the last five minutes did not help his case.
“The fact that you, the nearest Grade 10 overlord, have decided to not object suggests that even you don’t really have a problem with it. I suppose it is time we move on. I seem to remember there was actually one thing on the agenda this time.” said Rialwith, representative of the Empire. Guess it was time to stop procrastinating.
“An item I find myself disagreeing with. Every denizen has rights on Algrea. That has been decided. There is no need to discuss this.” Ariana said to a room full of people looking at her judgmentally.
“If it is alright with you, ma’am, perhaps we could skip the many questions and discussions about whether things should be discussed and just start discussing?” Rialwith said.
Ugh…straight to the hard stuff huh?
“Very well then, tell me why is it a problem that my newest great great grandson is a Warlord? I think everyone here has a similar title.” Ariana said
“The problem, countess, is the fact that it is a growing title awarded to a 7 month old baby that holds the only off planet colony we have. With the increase in emotions from Delta Z-1 it would seem that the presence of sapient life is most likely in that direction. It would then be imperative that the first Algrean noble they come across is not a war loving madman.” Maelus said.
“Please, Alforien is hardly war loving, he merely has…a unique circumstance.” Ariana said
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Oh yes, the circumstance of going through your little cheat producer that we all know about but never acknowledge the existence of.” another dignitary, to Ariana’s sadness, chimed up.
“Perhaps it would be best if the boy grew up in a more observable environment.”another one. Just like flies huh? One comes, ten follow.
“Like your little college Bismark? Looking for new students are we?” the other dignitary questioned.
“Why not Perrin? It is a fine college with an excellent preschool program.” Bismarck replied. There was no way she was going to let this go on. Those two could argue for days easily
“Alforien will be attending Mistrel’s School of Magic.” Ariana said, causing one Mistrel to appear from wherever he was hiding today.
“Someone called me?” Minstrel said, quirky as always.
“No, but you are here anyways old man. I presume you have no problem with him attending?” Ariana asked
“Why none at all! In fact we just started a new administration program- “ Mistrel began before she interrupted him
“Yes, yes, he’ll join. Just please can we end this meeting now?” Ariana asked
“Well, Countess, there is one thing I would like to bring to this Council’s attention…” And just like that the meeting went on and on and on…

Trevor
Trevor was tired. The shopping had proceeded in a normal manner after the little incident at the gate. Supplies were bought, they were most definitely overcharged and now they were carrying supplies back to the bunker.
Yes, the most boring, tiresome task of all, carrying stuff around. Now it was time to trek home to the bunker in the snow. At least there was less snow this time.

[Warning! A Baby gets waffles in this chapter!]
I sneaked into my bedroom, taking special care not to wake anyone up, it was finally time for pancakes and I wasn’t going to let it get spoiled by someone waking up.
Time to get to waffle making! Order! Chaos! Gather, Combine. I spun threads of two elements, neither very willing to cooperate, but I wasn’t taking no for an answer. Combining the two threads, I called waffles into being.
The most tasty chocolate waffles! Ooh how good they smelled! Gingerly, I took one bite, savouring the taste as I ate. Or at least trying to as I gobbled down the waffle. Before I knew it, it was gone.
Too bad I couldn’t just make another one. Or could I? Grinning evilly, I conjured another. While wolfing it down, it occurred to me that perhaps this was the answer to my quest. Waffles.
Ooh! A notification! I might just be right!
No. Waffles is not the answer.
Element gained!
[Alchemy]: Congratulations! You are the third to discover this extremely rare element. The element has devoured the Chaos and Order elements. As a discovered element, affinity is fixed at 100%
Ugh…at least I had the element I really wanted. I could get alternatives for Chaos.
