I entered the third room to find a very interesting site. The two tanks were blocking all entrances to the room as goblins rushed them trying to pierce their thick skin and armored bodies. The goblins were quick enough to dodge the swings of the tanks except for a few that couldn't escape in time and ended up spattered on the walls. This rush-and-retreat method would have probably worked to tire the tanks out if it wasn't for the poison spider that sat on the backs of one tank and would scurry up to its head and spray the retreating goblins with poison. On top of that, even with the goblins watching out behind them, the trap spider was successful in picking off a goblin here or there without being seen.
The hoard of 20 goblins had been easily reduced to 6 even before it got there. 5 as one goblin unluckily slipped on the blood of its fallen comrades and was instantly crushed under the mace end of the tank spider's arm.
“At this rate, I won't have anything to do.” 5 goblins turned into 4 as the trap spider picked another off. It wouldn't be long until they were all dead. “So what happens once we kill these goblins? Is it over?”
“Unlikely.”
“Why’s that?”
“The danger can only pass if the dungeons repel, or one of the dungeon masters is eliminated. It is unlikely that the dungeon master was one of these goblins.” I had thought the same thing. While I was human, I had entered over 30 dungeons and while many had goblins, there was never one with a normal goblin dungeon boss. Normally if it was a goblin dungeon, then the boss was a hobgoblin or a redcap. Both of which were much stronger than the average goblin that was getting picked off here.
“So theoretically we could just guard the entrance until the dungeons repel.”
“Correct”
“But then we risk taking damage with zero reward.”
“Correct” I mulled my choices over as the last of the goblins was finished under the blade of the tank. I was about to have the miners and clear come help clear the path when the vortex shimmered and a blur launched through racing through the first and second rooms.
Instant panic set in as I realized what had come through the portal. My body lunged forward launching between the two tanks, pushing them to the sides. A spearhead came out of the tunnel moving incredibly fast. I reached forward leading with my shield as the spearhead struck it sending a resounding thud through the small room. The strength of a hobgoblin was no joke, even high-ranked adventures could be knocked back by them. The spear bouched to one side and sliced a section of the tank's side chipping away at the bone plating. The tank hissed in pain and twitched in pain. It only lasted a second before the tank threw its weight into me, trapping the spear between the shield and itself locking it in place. I was both shocked and impressed at the action and took no time in responding in kind to the hobgoblin's attack. The hammer which I was holding down at my side came up in a head swing smashing the hobgoblin's snaggle-toothed grin shut. As if they had practiced a hundred times, the poison spider and other tank moved in unison. The poison spider lunged off the tank's head wrapping its legs around the hobgoblin's body sliding behind it biting down hard at its neck. Blood and poison gushed from the wound as the tank's blade drove into the hobgoblin's side, piercing it through. A low moan was all it could make before its body slid to the ground. I turned to the injured tank and looked at its wound as the poison spider and tank 2 procedures to verify the enemy's death in a very violent and gruesome manner. Thick black blood seeped out of the wound on the tank's side.

“Do we have anything that can stop bleeding?” I asked everyone in the room.
“Siliva of the Arachne can enhance clotting and promote healing.” the voice in my head was the only one to answer. Without a second thought, I spit in my hand a few times. The saliva was thick and white but worked amazingly as it smeared it on the wound stopping the bleeding.
“How are you doing, big buy?” I asked patting him on the side after I treated the wound. There was a feeling of affirmation and gratitude from it. “Good. I don't know about you all but I'm a little pissed off right now.” The feeling of mass agreement washed over me. Originally I was going to try and wait this out, but seeing how one of my people was injured I couldn't think of a good reason to not win this battle. If a simple goblin dungeon was enough to hurt us, then we needed to get stronger before something bigger ended up finding us. “Good! Then let's get going. Can you still fight?” I asked the injured one, who stomped his feet hissing in complete enthusiasm. I smiled at that and headed toward the second room. As I passed by the mound of corpses I grabbed the large spear the hobgoblin had tested it out. It was thick and strong, but not too heavy that I couldn't use it one-handed.
I headed into the first room having the surveillance spider drop down onto my shoulder as I passed. The trap spider also came out and filed into the room with the others behind me.
“This action is not recommended.” The voice said as I approached the vortex.
“Why's that?” I had the surveillance spider jump into my hand and set it on the floor next to the vortex.
“It is unwise to have the dungeon master leave the dungeon.”
“Will it negatively affect the dungeon while I’m gone?” The little spider scurried through the vortex and I closed my eyes looking through its eyes.
“No, However, if you are hurt or killed on the other side, the damage here will be exceptional. Also if the dungeons were to repel during the time you are out of the dungeon both you and the dungeon would die and cease to exist.” The voice was monotoned but at the same time felt a little rushed.
“I understand. I will be careful.”
“The connection with the dungeon will be weak once you leave. I may not be able to contact you.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
