[I see. So would you say that those who are lost every time a collision occurs are lost to space and time?]
[No one can say for certain, but I think that would be a good way of putting it for now.]
I let out a deep yawn before looking at Zuri who looked as awake as ever.
“Lets go get a motel.” I said and Zuri nodded.
We then cleared up our table before leaving the restaurant.
We made our way towards a three star motel that was down the road from the restaurant and decided to get a single room for security reasons, although Zuri insisted she would sleep on the couch while I slept on the bed.
She switched on the TV and flipped through various channels while I inspected my legs.
I still couldn’t feel them but one thing I could feel for certain was the strange lump in the centre my lower back.
I assumed Luno or someone had placed something in my lower spine that paralyzed me from the waist down-
I groaned upon realizing that Zuri, someone close to Luno, was sitting right in front of me.
“Hey, did Luno do anything to me?”
“Mmm… I cannot say. He did not tell me anything apart from the fact that they had captured you. Oh- Umm… were you, by chance, involved in the murder of Sidus and Cento?” Zuri suddenly asked.
“Who?”
“They were two Helma who were sent south to besiege the Hellish Horde in the city of Gordias.”
“Ah, those two. I was involved, yes, but my contributions to that fight were negligible at best.”
“I see.” Zuri said without turning around.
I sighed before falling over to sleep.
I closed my eyes and reached out to Kenos.
[What?]
Keep the ship from drifting away, please.
[Sure.]
He said.
A moment passed as the ambient light and sounds from the TV lulled me to sleep.
[You know, I’m fine with the way things are.]
Kenos said but I was far too tired to respond.
[If anything, it was you who saved me on that day.]
.
..
“Katsíki?” Zuri called and I awoke shortly after.
I noticed she kept glancing at my legs and so I dismissively waved my hands.
“Let’s go do some shopping. We’ll visit an internet Café after we get some clothes and other stuff.”
Zuri nodded before helping me onto my wheelchair.
I then wheeled my way to the bathroom where a tall mirror stood.
I looked myself over and gasped painfully upon seeing my large, muscular but scarred body.
It seemed as though Luno had healed me partly, leaving countless scars, wounds and bruises.
My face was in a permanent scowl and my long black hair was unkempt.
A knock came from the door.
“Yes?”
“Do you need any help?”
[YES!]
“I… err.. sure. Come in.” I said after realizing that, because I didn’t have any genitalia, I really didn’t need to be embarrassed.
Zuri entered the bathroom and after helping me into the shower, she took off her clothes and joined me.
“I learnt many things yesterday.” Zuri said while allowing the water to run.
It loudly fell onto us and while Zuri washed my hair, I washed my legs.
“After the first collision, the one that took us to Edenton, several things happened here as well. Humans from Edenton, Rendaro, dragons and even beings known as Haneem appeared here.”
“Haneem?” I exclaimed.
“Yes, but all “Other Worlders”, as they are called, were taken in by governments all over the world and they have remained relatively unseen until now. Videos and pictures exist, but before people could interact with the other worlders at length, government employees would come an take them away.” Zuri said while drowning my hair in shampoo.
“Hehe, what did mankind do about the dragons?” I chuckled.
“Umm.. some were shot down while others were captured. Although I heard those battles were catastrophic. Actually, it seems as though some dragons came with us on this most recent collision. They are currently being dealt with.” Zuri explained while rinsing my hair.
“Oh? Doesn’t this mean that dragons are very much still alive back on Edenton?” I asked while scrubbing down the rest of my body.
“Yes. Grandmaster Ferraya- err… a close associate of mine-“

“I know what the title of Grandmaster entails.” I scoffed.
“Oh- well, she sent out a Legion of knights to mount Araena but to our surprise, they found no dragons. They decided to March further northward and after several days of travel they reached the far northern continent of La-Alha where the found swarms of dragons, yes, but they were smaller and had four wings. Before you appeared, we were planning on creating a force to counter their inevitable return. We concluded that dragon kind has spent the last half millennium preparing for what could be Edenton's most devastating war. The knights described the swarms of dragons as sky blotting.” Zuri explained.
I nodded and after washing all of the soap from my body, I sat in the shower’s corner while Zuri bathed.
“And magic? How did people react to it?”
“Oh- not very well. I think something you and I may have taken for granted back home is how many people are augmented and how readily available life magicians are. Here, on the other hand, things are not so easy. Light magicians are blinded by their own power, death magicians die early, I even heard that babies that prematurely use their heat or cold powers boil or freeze themselves to death. These things happen sometimes on Edenton, but people here do not know how to handle everything when it happens.” Zuri explained with a saddened expression before helping me out of the shower.
We then dried ourselves and while she slipped into her dress, I created a stiff dark jacket for myself using countless threads of darkness. My legs were still covered in a dark blanket since my legs couldn’t fit in anything.
Zuri then wheeled me put of the bathroom ad we promptly left the motel.
“Hehe, I wonder how those government employees dealt with knights or augmented individuals.” I asked as Zuri and I made our way onto the streets of Kukulkan.
A few people gave us intrigued glances but, other than that, everyone went about their days as normal.
We made our way to the mall where we bought a some clothes, food and two phones. I noticed that there was actually quite a bit of merchandise based on things from Edenton. Things like toy dragons, Rendaro and Haneem. I paid little attention to these things as we made our way to a restaurant where we ate some ice-cream while I set up our phones.
“You said you’d be able to contact Adia’s dad… how?” I asked. We had changed into more comfortable clothes. Plain grey tracksuits, although my legs were still covered in a blanket.
“I actually have his emergency number and email memorized. Hopefully he never changed it.”
I nodded before handing her the second phone I’d gotten.
She then dialled in a certain number before pressing the phone against her ear.
A few seconds passed before her eyes suddenly widened.
“H-hello?” Zuri called almost fearfully.
“Yes, Mr. Quinn, it is Zuri.” She said with shaking eyes.
“I… I do not know. The collision happened when he and I were separated.”
“He was doing wonderfully sir and no day passed when he did not want to return home.”
“How? Oh, I reappeared on earth with a man who was also from here. He suggested that we keep a low profile until I find a way to reach you.”
“Kukulkan, sir.”
“Alright.” Zuri said before ending the call.
“He said I should send him our exact location so that he can send someone to pick us up.”
“Mmm… yeah, no. Go on back to Cynosure. I’m gonna go to Acan.” I said while chewing the last bits of the cone which once held ice-cream.
“Oh. Alright.” Zuri said.
We sent our location details to Mr. Quinn and decided to explore a bit of the mall while we waited for Zuri’s transport to arrive.
We visited an arcade where I, strangely enough, had less fun that Zuri who ended up winning a ton of winner’s tickets which she used to purchase a large, brown teddy bear from the arcade’s gift shop.
Eh, she probably cheated using her augmented limbs.
We then sat in waiting by some benches outside the mall and I explored the internet in my search for pictures of the Haneem.
My eyes widened as I found a relatively clear video.
The Haneem had been found trapped in someone’s garage since the owner thought it was an alien.
Concerned neighbour’s called the police after hearing many loud horrific sounds from the garage and began recording the footage as soon as the police arrived.
The police broke into the garage via its back door where they found the Haneem.
A three meter tall humanoid made seemingly of a pale grey stone.
It had glowing pink eyes, a nose, two ears and a mouth. It’s entity body was covered in intricate pink lines that resembled fingerprints and it had no hair. The only thing that gave a clue on its gender was its rather masculine design.
The police freaked out a bit before asking the Haneem where the owner of the house was.
The Haneem said he was out shopping and so the police waited for his return after contacting the local government agents.
The owner eventually returned and he tried desperately to convince everyone that the Haneem, Rendaro and even humans were threats to mankind.
The man was completely ignored and the Haneem was taken in.
Several hours passed as Zuri and waited.
I learnt more about the government agents that were being sent to collect other worlders.
They didn’t have special names or belong to any known organizations.
All anyone knew was that they always appeared in dark armoured trucks and that they were almost always accompanied by armed guards.
I understood mankind’s caution, but… no, it was reasonable.
People from Edenton could use powerful magic.
I cannot imagine how many people were lost to magicians who had malicious intentions for earth.
“Oh- he’s here.” Zuri said before standing up and wheeling me to one of the mall’s entrances where a rather suspicious black car awaited. It was a sedan which had windows that were almost completely tinted out.
The driver had parked right in front of the mall.
He exited the car and walked up to the back door which he opened revealing a middle aged man with a head of grey hair.
The man exited the car and walked up to us.
He then looked Zuri over.
“Hello, sir.” She greeted.
“H-hello.” He said. He carried with him the smell of strong perfumes and cigarettes, but I didn’t care.
“Ahem! Goodbye, Zuri.” I said before reaching for my wheels but Zuri quickly placed her hand on my shoulder.
“I have your number, right?” She asked.
“Yup.”
“Alright. Stay safe.”
I nodded before wheeling myself in the direction of the nearest Vectrain station.
Vectrains were super fast trains that used a railway system that connected all of Unity’s provinces.
I reached the station, bought a ticket and made my way to Acan at an unreasonably fast speed.
I eventually arrived in Acan, which was the least futuristic of the six provinces.
While Cynosure was the hub for innovation, research and security, Acan was where a majority of middle to lower class citizens lived.
Kukulkan was an oddity, since it was designed to mimic the world as it was in 2000.
But alas, the year was 2115, so much had changed.
The sky was blocked out by tall megastructures which housed tens of thousands of people.
Some of these buildings were so big, they housed their own micro economies.
You could wake up, go to work, go shopping and maybe even see the doctor all in the same building.
I was fortunate enough to live in a relatively small apartment building-
Wait a minute!
I had died!
Was my place even still there?
I hurriedly boarded a bus and made my way to my old apartment building.
I was quite surprised to see that it was still standing especially since the man who own the building was a no good piece of shit.
The front gate required a specific code to open and that was the “gate code” which every apartment had.
The thing was that every apartment had a different gate code.
I entered my old gate code and to my surprise, the gate opened.
I made my way to my old place and… someone else was living there.
I sighed deeply before leaving the building and making my way to a nearby motel.
I got a room and, after ordering some chips and soda, I plopped onto the bed and let out a low groan.
I…
I was tired.
And so I my eyes lowered as I surrendered.
What would be, swayed by unknowable comic currents, would be.
To Be Continued
Afterword
Thank you for reading this volume of Goat Isekai.
What a ride, huh?
Well, I’d like to inform you that we only have two more to go with the next one being [A Chasmic Yearning]/[A Cosmic Yearning].
It has two names and the reason why will become apparent as I roll it’s chapters out.
Oh- one thing to note is that Katsíki's story ends in the next volume. The last volume will be a simple handling of loose ends.
That aside, I cannot believe how far I’ve come.
I’ve learnt so much while writing Goat Isekai.
I think I’ve grown somewhat as an artist, but there is always more to learn, more to do.
Anyway, thank you once again and I’ll see you all next time!
