“So… This is the town you grew up in huh?”
A depressing and shabby town lies in the distance.
Elizabeth nods her head, not even wanting to truly acknowledge that fact.
“Well, let’s go-.”
“Wait!”
Elizabeth yells loudly to startle Ivan in hopes he won’t jump off the tree yet and try and go into the town. That actually works and Ivan rubs his head in confusion.
“What? Is there an enemy?”
Ivan’s eyes scour around and yet he sees no life within 200 meters of them. Elizabeth shakes her head and points at Ivan’s face while sitting on his shoulder.
“No, you need to do something about that.”
Ivan scoffs and is even more confused than before.
“What, my face? You calling me ugly to ugly to enter a town for evil people?”
Elizabeth sighs and face palms while shaking her head.
“No, you need to do something about your aura.”
Ivan is upset to hear this word again. He had never learned about aura in his past life on earth so he doesn’t exactly know what it is or how to control it.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. We never had anything like that from where I came from.”
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Elizabeth thinks for a moment about how to phrase what she wants to say so Ivan can understand quickly. It takes a little while before she is able to form an explanation for Ivan.
Elizabeth remembers who originally taught her about auras and recites their words to Ivan to try and help him.
“My master taught it like this to me. ‘Aura is only something that the extremely powerful have. To them, it is simply like breathing and they do not have to think to release the aura. In fact they have to try harder to hold it in instead of releasing it. It is like them holding in their breath when holding in their aura.’”
Ivan raises an eyebrow to that answer and he then closes his eyes.
Mulling over the words that Elizabeth relayed from her master, Ivan tries to search inside of his soul to maybe find an answer that correlates with the clue.
Searching around, Ivan’s soul finally realizes something. The soul itself has been releasing a bright red and bloody mist. Ivan can use context clues to guess this is the aura that everyone has been talking about.
This scary mist has been coming from my body this whole time? No wonder everyone was horrfied of me. I guess we all learn from our mistakes.
Ivan never realized this was happening since it has been happening since his soul has been formed in this new realm.
Using the advice of ‘holding it in like their breath’, Ivan tries to hold in his aura.
It isn’t long before the red mist that is aura pouring out of Ivan’s soul is soon stopped up from coming out.
The strain of holding in his aura is only slight but it is enough to force Ivan to constantly be thinking about having to hold it in.
Elizabeth’s eyes go wide in amazement at the sight laid out before her eyes. The once intimidating and ever present Ivan seems to wash away and blends into the background.
If Elizabeth wasn’t sitting on Ivan’s shoulder she swears that she would lose sight of him.
This is all due to Ivan’s proficiency with sneaking. It is so high that even without trying he blends into the background to where it is hard to notice unless you look extremely hard.
“Better?” asks Ivan hoping that something changed.
“Amazing. You are truly skilled Ivan.”
“Well going off that compliment I will assume that we are good to go.”
Elizabeth nods and Ivan jumps off the tree excitedly. He is really hoping that this time will end up better than last time when he tries to meet someone new.
