Ivan and Elizabeth conversate on the way to their newest destination, Blightwood, after leaving the town of Gingko.
The forest that they are walking through is completely quiet and the moon is high in the sky.
Ivan asks about Elizabeth’s basic life information and finds out the little girl is ten years old, grew up in Blightwood, and came to the town of Gingko after her master died and her brother was taken into slavery.
Ivan then tells his story about how he was summoned to this world and then explains the misunderstanding that is causing him to flee Gingko.
Ivan does omit the fact about his double ancestor and the fact he is a Legendary+. He doesn’t feel like having people come from all around the world to interrogate him.
As Ivan finishes his story, Elizabeth’s eyes are shining like stars.
“You’re from another world Ivan? That is so cool! What is it like?!”
Ivan chuckles at the girl’s excitement when hearing about his past.
“It is a fairly boring place to be honest. I am like you and didn’t know my parents. The only difference is I got adopted, but didn’t find a master.”
“So you’re an orphan just like me?!”
“Yes, yes I am.”
Ivan thinks Elizabeth was a little too excited when bringing up the fact that they are both orphans.
“There is not much to say about me in the past, but I am curious to hear more about your brother.”
Elizabeth’s face goes kinda dark when processing what Ivan brought up. Ivan notices the change in the girl’s facial expression and knows not to push too hard when it comes to these kind of things.
“You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.”
Elizabeth takes a breath and knows that she will have to talk about it to Ivan at some point so might as well do it now.
“Well, he isn’t really my brother. We were both just adopted by the same master and he became like a big brother to me. He is so kind, and sweet, and handsome, and amazing, and..”
As Elizabeth’s speaking patterns become simple and her face starts to blush, an idea pops into Ivan’s head.
So she is in love with this big brother huh? I am not literate on the laws here about this kind of stuff if there is even any, but hopefully he hasn’t reciprocated her love in that way. If so I’ll have to have a talk with this kid.
When Ivan nods his head after finishing his thought, Elizabeth is still droning on and on, complimenting this big brother of hers endlessly.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Well, who enslaved him?”
When Ivan asks that question, Elizabeth stops and stand stiff in fear. Her face is full of even more horror compared to when she first saw Ivan.
“He was taken by a… a horrifying monster.”
Ivan chuckles when hearing this.
“Even more horrifying than me?”
Elizabeth doesn’t even think for a second before she starts nodding her head up and down rapidly.
Ivan raises an eyebrow in interest after hearing this. Ivan is able to have a rough gauge on some of his powers and knows that there aren’t too many people who are stronger than him.
Of course he doesn’t know about his aura or how to control it, but since he has gotten used to this body, Ivan feels as if he could have easily of dispatched those Valkyries.
The only reason he didn’t was because he didn’t want innocent people’s blood on his hands, and he didn’t know if those women were truly deserving of death or not.
“Can you explain why you think that way?”
“Well, she may not be stronger than you, but she is much more wicked. I have only seen her once, and it is something I have had nightmares about for the past month.”
Ivan shrugs and thinks ‘that’s fair’. He then smiles and counts it as a win in his book that someone doesn’t think he is the scariest person on the planet.
“Maybe you and I can do something to get your big brother back.”
“Really?! Wait, no, no you can’t.” says Elizabeth while shaking her head.
“What do you mean?”
“Since you just got here and haven’t truly fought yet, I doubt you could beat someone who has lived 500 years and only knows how to backstab and kill. Plus, I don’t want to lose another friend close to me to that woman.”
Ivan is surprised at how mature thinking this ten year old is, whoever her master was must have been an amazing person who taught this young girl how to think logically.
“We will never know until we try, but you are right. There is a lot of things I still need to learn.”
The two still haven’t moved and Elizabeth is still dejected and slightly scared when remembering her brother and his captor. Instead of letting an awkward silence take over, Ivan picks up Elizabeth.
She lets out a surprised scream but Ivan simply puts the skinny girl on his shoulder. Ivan then takes a massive leap and lands on a tree limb that is slightly above the rest of the trees around.
“Point in the direction of Blightwood. If we run we can make it there quicker. The quicker we make it the less your brother suffers.”
Elizabeth is speechless at the dedication Ivan has to help her even though she rejected and explained why. She still manages a smile though and points in the direction of the evil city.
Ivan nods and begins to leap from tree to tree at rapid speeds while holding onto Elizabeth.
Elizabeth is giggling as she is having fun going this fast and she can feel a warmth in her heart.
Thinking about this, she hasn’t felt this way since she last saw her master before he died 3 months ago.
Elizabeth looks down at the man who gave her a name and is offering to turn her life around. Ambitious thoughts race through the young girls mind.
What if he can truly save Alexander? Maybe I should see how master’s old book responds to him. If it responds well then I have no doubt in my mind he will at least have a chance.
The moon shines brought on the monster of a man and the little girl on his shoulder. The girl is full of hope and plans whileas the man is brimming with curiosity.
Plans are set in motion tonight. Plans that will add to Ivan’s infamy, give him a headache that will never go away, and give him one of his strongest companions.
