(Lave POV)
I studied the wall that was filled with papers. All of the papers looked as if they were hand written making them difficult to understand. Not that I could read them anyway.
Amice brought me to this building after breakfast to gather money, if I understood correctly. From just glancing around I noticed that people from all walks of life come to this building for money. I had seen people that were dressed for farm work, combat, and also normal town cloths. Really it was hard to pin down what this building was for.
However it was clear that this was a place that people came to to make money. Amice tore a paper off the wall and began reading it. I turned back to the wall of papers seeing if I could find any similarities in writing. This is going to be such a pain in the ass.
Ah, every paper has one word that is the same. Sigh, why am I even here. This is so annoying. Why did I have to be sucked through that weird thing and tossed here. I narrowed my eyes in annoyance. Not only was I thrown into a world I don’t know, I am even stuck with this human. Well at least she is skilled.
This world is so different from Earth. I stretched my hand out to feel the rough hand made paper. The brown color made it difficult to see the black ink. Really for having this many pieces of paper this must be a pretty important place, or at least a rich one.
I glanced over to the desks. There where five people working behind it. On one side a person was counting plants while placing a copper coin down for each one. Another one was looking at a sword while pointing out different things. It looked like a town center and traders in one.
A commotion behind me drew my attention. Amice stood a little ways away with her back facing me. From the tone of her voice and her posture you could tell she was pissed. I looked at the guy standing in front of her. He stood lazily with a disgusting smile plastered on his face. Laughing he reached his hand out only to have it slapped away.
“Ho~” I leaned against the wall to watch the show unfold. The guy stood there stunned looking at his hand. Amice placed her hand on her hip and cocked her head to the side. Her entire attitude spoke volumes.
His face contorted in anger. With a obnoxious shout he swung his fist out messily. Tch, amateur. Amice caught his fist and yanked him forward while side stepping sending him smashing into the wall. Papers fluttered around the room as he slid down the wall.

Walking over to the fallen man she lifted him up off the ground with one hand. Hanging like a rag doll Amice growled out what I assume is ‘advice’ and then dropped him. Dusting off her hands she turned to me with a huge smile.
“Lave!” While waving a paper at me she spoke. “እንሂድ!” Sigh, Amice and I walked out of the building to go do whatever was written on that damned paper. Really I am going to have to learn how to read. Despite this being some medieval time period the literacy rate seems to be ridiculously high.

(Amice POV)
Lave and I made our way to the foot of the forested mountain to pick Dragon Root. Thankfully the plant is easy enough to find. The only problem would be the fact that it is poisons. However it should be ok as long as we don’t eat it.
“When we find the Dragon Root we should dig it up with a knife and place it in this bag.” I hold a brown bag out for Lave to see. “That way we wont get any of the sap on us. If you do tell me right away.” Lave just ignored me as we walked through the trees.
“Well you will understand when you see it. Even if you don’t speak Common, you should still know what Dragon Root is when you see it.” As both a poisonous plant and a medical plant it is very well known. Another good thing is that it is an easy way to make money. I mean 10 coppers per plant is amazing.
It must be because its dangerous to handle. Fufufu, lucky for me I am used to digging these guys up. My Mother would always have me go get them for her patients. As it is used to cure colds it was very useful. Just thinking back on it makes me smile.
[ “Amice dear, would you mind going into the forest and gathering some Dragon Root. The village down the road has been infected with the cold again.”
“But Mother, Father said that I was to practice my swordsmanship, and besides the last time I went I poisoned myself.”
Mother slid the mortar and pistol she was using to crush herbs slowly to the side. A large soft smile rested on her lips. However her eyes remained cold. “Amice, did I not say to gather the Dragon Root?”
“… Yes.”
“I am sure that your Father will understand why you have to skip out on your swordsmanship training. It isn’t very useful anyway. What is swordsmanship training other than a way to hurt others. A Saintress is a much nobler profession.
What is the ability to hurt one when you can heal twice as many. There will always be sick or injured so you will never run out of money, and you are able to help those around you. Why must you persist down that path. Sigh, really child. How am I going to face Imperium next time I go to temple?
Am I to say that my daughter rejects the teachings and wishes to go down the path of a heathen? Do you wish for your Mother to have to disown you? Really now, I have already talked to your Father about this. Now Amice, go and gather the Dragon Root. I need twenty five. Make sure that the roots are fully intact.”
I nodded my head and grabbed a small knife and large burlap bag. “I’m off Mother.” ]
Ah, how I miss Mother. She always knew what should be done. I just know she would be proud of me. She had a soft spot for the sword. I’m sure she would be happy that I am able to follow her teachings and use the sword like Father.
I smiled happily as we made our way through the forest. “Now where are you Dragon Root? You can’t hide from me. Fufufufu.”
