(Lave POV)
Watching the unconscious Priest I cleaned my daggers. This would have been so much easier if he just told me about the summoning ritual to begin with. Tears appeared at the edges of his eyes. I just shook my head and sighed. I have no idea what he is seeing.
“Yes, I'll talk about the summoning.” Came a quite whisper.
“Already?” It hasn't even been two minutes. Must be quite the dream.
“The summoning of a Hero is a tradition for when we go to war. It is magic from before the Imperious Church. heathenous magic that follows the old ways. Not much is known about it.” He gasped. “No, no. I can tell you more. Just spare her.”
I raised an eyebrow. “T-The ritual itself is preformed by Head Priest Marius. The magic circle needs to be drawn in blood. All the Priests gather and chant the spell while pouring in as much magic as possible. The circle will grow brighter the more magic it absorbs until you can't see. Only then will a Hero be Summoned.”
“It doesn't always work. Maybe a one in five chance. The blood needed to draw the circle is also a large amount. There is a need to prepare sacrifices beforehand.” He drew a shaky breath. “As for the chant it is in a language none of us know. The summoning doesn't always work. We just repeat the words without knowing what they mean and hope for the best.”
“The chant goes: 'Watashi wa watashi ni sagi no hīrō o ataeru tame ni uchū o yobimasu. Sō,-sōdenakereba taikutsuna basho ni jinsei o motarasu tame ni.'” Something feels off about that chant. What is it? It sound familiar... “All we know about the magic is that it was created by a very powerful magic user hundreds of years ago.”
“It is unknown where the Hero comes from. We don't know of a way to go over to the other world.” I clicked my tongue. So they don't know a way. “Please stop. Really thats all I know. Please.” I released my illusion. Now it will be up to him to change the dream. But really that chant is bothering me.
“Looks like I will have to go to this island that woman told me about.” Grabbing my cloak I hid my face and adjusted the sword so it was obvious again. Steadily making my way out of the church I heard a scream behind me. Looks like they found him.

I cut across the roads and stopped in a back alley right next to the port. The sky is growing darker and the rain's coming down harder causing people to seek shelter. Making sure all my stuff is securely put away, I walk to an empty dock. The water swirled darkly below inviting me in. I smiled. Finally I am back to the ocean.
Spreading my arms wide I fell backwards into the water letting myself sink below the surface. The tide swept me away from land as if trying to prevent me from escaping. Unusual fish looked at me in confusion as I let the current pull me into its depths.
Eventually I landed on the ocean floor quite a ways away from Vasa. My magic released and my body back to normal. As if stretching after a long sleep. Ah, how good it is to be back.
Glancing around I realized that I was out in the open. It isn't good for me to be out here for to long. Especially when I don't know what this ocean's native inhabitants are. Thinking back on what the Priest said I could only sigh in disappointment. While I don't have any family waiting for me in my world it was definitely convenient. Electricity and running water were swinging me in favor of returning.
A fog covered island where I would find my answer to summoning magic. South is it? I squinted my eyes looking south through the dark water. A small thread of magic was pulling me that way making me frown. Amice is in the south. She better not be on that Island.
Thinking back to the perverted leech that I have traveled with until now, I shuddered. Something about that girl isn't right. I marked her so that I would be able to avoid her in the future, but I just don't see how I will be able to if I don't leave this world. Yet another point towards going back.
However if she followed Gran like she was supposed to then she should be quite far from here, or at least not on the island. I get the feeling that this island is a one person place. Pushing off the sand I swam south hoping to reach my destination before anything happens. Truly these past few weeks have be filled with nothing but trouble.
I have been in this world for little more than two weeks and I have been marked by the government as a dangerous existence that in the end caused me to eat a human. Sigh I was doing so well too. Really this place isn't good for me.
