When I wake up the first thing I notice, is a horrible case of dry mouth. It feels like I have been sucking on cardboard. I pull my canteen and take a long drink. When I get up, I feel stiff and have to stretch. Once I have limbered up, I notice another issue. I wasn’t just stiff my clothes have shrunk. I also am covered with a thin line of dust. I don’t see any evidence of dust anywhere else in the house. I take my clothes off and notice for the first-time new muscle on my body. I go to the main bedroom to find the mirror that I know is there. It is not a mirror-like at home it is a large piece of polished copper. It serves its purpose though. I see myself now and what I see is impressive.

I have grown again I now top out at somewhere around six-five or six-six. I don’t know how much I weigh but I know it is more than I had when I arrived. I am now absolutely ripped, and it is not bodybuilder muscle it is all useful muscle. I also see that my hair has grown quite a bit, and I now have a scraggly beard. I can’t tell if it is just the mirror but my eyes have changed as well. I am not sure what color they are but I know that they are no longer brown. If I had to guess I would say they were steel grey and they glow some now. I know my stats have changed more than they should have but I don’t want to look at them because I know once I go into my menus I will be trapped there until I finish. That would not be an issue but I now have another problem as my stomach starts to grumble. I am super hungry. To fix the issues with my clothes I lay them on the bed and feed them mana and pull on them until they fit my new proportions. I don’t know how I know this will work but I do, and it does. Once I am dressed, I head back to the front of the house to the door.

When I open the door, I see the avatar right outside of my door. His appearance is different since he is now covered in moss. From his appearance combined with the dust and the other things, I can tell I was out for a while. As I step out, I can sense motion as the avatar reanimates.

“My friend, you are well? I was beginning to get worried” he says. Before I would not have noticed the small changes in the wood of his face. The narrowing of his eyes, and the slight creaking of the wood in his body. He was quite worried. “I must apologize my gift was tampered with. It was not supposed to harm you, but considering how long the process took I could not be sure.”

I can see the shame on his face, in the minuscule movements of the wood. I can also sense fear from him. I can tell he thinks that I will be mad at him and he will lose the only person with whom he can communicate.

“Well, where I am from, we have a few sayings that I believe apply here. The first is pain is just weakness leaving the body. The other is what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Until now I did not understand but now, I have an idea.”

He relaxes as much as a walking tree can when I am done speaking. I can tell he understands that I am not mad at him.

“So, my friend how drastic are the changes. I can feel quite a bit including the fact that we need to get that aura of yours under control” he says tilting his head.

“I have not checked yet to be honest.” As I say that my stomach grumbles loudly.

He chuckles “Yes, yes I see!” He starts to walk toward the fruit trees. As I walk, I see some of the plants visibly recoil to my presence. He notices me reacting to this.

“Yes, that is your new aura, or should I say auras. Until you learn control lesser beings will react like that” he says as we walk. “The changes were quite drastic my friend you have much to learn before you head off again alas. It has been nice having you here to talk to but you must head out. There is much more of this world for you to see.”

He sounds sad about me leaving. We arrive at the trees and I sit at the stone table while he picks fruit. He comes back with several fruits. As soon as he puts them on the table I begin to eat. I don’t stop eating until all the fruit is gone. By this time, he has brought another arm full of fruit. I eat all of that as well. Once I am done, he sits I know what he is waiting for but I really don’t want to go there. I know I am going to be trapped in my menus for some time.

I know I can only procrastinate for so long I do need to know what happened. I finally bite the bullet and enter my menu.

That is a lot of shit that happen no wonder I was down for so long. It also seems as if Akurra had some changes take place as well.
