I woke up in one piece which was a surprise to me!
I was for sure that I was going to break my neck when I fell. My friends would be writing my obituary. I could see it now Vandwon “Van” Moore died on a hike with friends. He died pulling his friend away from a falling tree he probably would have avoided on his own “Ha.” I had to laugh at the absurdity of it.
Well, I better do a self-check. I might not be dead but I could be dying. I sat up expecting a world of hurt when I did. The lack of pain was more surprising, for the fall I took I should at the minimum have cuts and bruises. Considering the distance, I fell, I should have at least some broken bones. I took a deep breath expecting some pain but felt nothing. I tried wiggling my fingers and toes next, and then moving my arms and legs, nothing. I decided it would be safe to try to stand, other than a little dizziness I felt fine.
As I stood, I looked around I seemed to be in some type of cave. My backpack and other gear were spread haphazardly around me. I noticed as I looked around there was something weird going on with my vision. In the corner of my right eye, there was something that had not been there before. It was almost like a flashing icon. It was there whether my eyes were open or closed. When I concentrated on it the icon expanded.

I closed it, rubbed my face, and shook my head. The writing I just saw had told me what had happened. Relocation, I had been taken somewhere. The blinking in my eyes had confirmed that I was no longer on earth. That was not something that happened at home. I knew that I had been Isekaied.
I had read enough books and manga to recognize the signs, the portal, the cave, the game-like system in my head. The topic had been one that had garnered much discussion. I had been a member of several forums that had discussed the possibility. Unfortunately, I had been on the side who thought it would suck for it to happen. Not that going to a fantasy world would not have been cool. I was more concerned with what type of world. Most of the books had made light of the worlds one could be transferred to. I had argued that it might be cool if you had some say in where you went, but just to be randomly sent to a different world could suck. I had given the examples of being transferred to a barren world or even a planet with only primitive life. I had also argued about going to a planet where humans were slaves or even food for the dominant race. Ultimately, I had come down on the side that if you could have some input being transferred to a different world might be cool but being randomly transported would be a nightmare.
Now I knew, I was sitting here in my nightmare scenario. I was likely in a different world that I had been randomly transferred to. At this point, I would have screamed but I was quiet since I had no idea of my surroundings.
I decided to put off looking at what had happened to me and get the lay of the land so to speak. I decided to look around the cave I was in to make sure there were no other residents. The cave I was in was not deep or very wide. It allowed me to take ten steps across by twenty deep. The back of the cave held a large stone shelf that looked man-made. The cave walls had strange carvings in them that looked vaguely familiar. The strangest part was that I somehow understood the intent of the carvings. The place I was in had once been a holy place to someone based on the carvings on the rock. The stone shelf in the rock had been a sacrificial altar. I was a bit weirded out by the fact that I had understood the stone carvings. I knew somehow that there had been massive changes done to me. I decided I could not put it off any longer, and since there were no signs of anything else in the cave I should be safe enough.
I said “status” out loud and was greeted with a new interface in my vision.

Black Blade:
There was no doubt about it at this point. I had definitely been transferred and changed. It was a character sheet, not all that different from what I knew. I had a race, subrace, and a class that all seemed similar to what I knew. The menu was also very intuitive, and I knew I could focus on something to get a much more detailed explanation. I decided to look at my race because there were sometimes things detailed in racial explanations.
Race: Human/OutWorlder
Humans of this realm are known for their overwhelming might and hardiness. Your body has been normalized to the standard for this realm. Humans of this realm are not highly attuned to the magic contained in the realm and therefore have a low MR score of 2. You have increased magical resistance. You also gain the Boons; Human Might, and Human Regeneration.
You are not from here, you were transported from a different realm. Due to this, your body has had to adapt to the changes of this world. Due to your world's lack of magic, and your adaptation your whole body absorbs mana at an increased rate, and regenerates faster. You also need less sleep than average. You gain the Boons; OutWorlder, Accelerated Growth, Insight, and the Skills; Linguistics, and Map. You also gain the Title; Knower of the Lost. Gain 6 unassigned AP per level and 5 MR.
Well, that is different. When I looked at my race, I thought it would be some sort of standard human. From what I have read, I know that it is not the case. Humans here seem to be stronger and more resilient. It also seems to have accounted for the fact that I am not from this planet as well. My status seems to account for the fact that I would have to catch up with the residents of this world and it levels that out some. I need to get a better look at my class as well.
Class: Arch SpellBlade/Unique
You have learned to use martial ability and magical power together. The idea to use both is foreign to this world. This class is new to this realm and for creating a class new to the realm you are granted the Titles: Class Creation, First of my Kind, High Magic, and Arch Mage. You are also the first human mage in this realm and have been granted the Title: First of my kind. For gaining a single boon twice the boon has been upgraded to Originator. For being the creator and the highest-level member of your class, you have been granted the Title: Arch Mage and your class has been upgraded to Arch SpellBlade. Gain 4 unassigned AP per level and 12 MR.
My class is almost the exact one I was playing in my LARP. That cannot be a coincidence, I might have chosen a different class if given the choice. It seems that I have gotten lucky on that front at least I have an idea of how the class works. I can use that to my benefit. There are a few things I don’t understand but I am starting to get a clearer picture. I decided to look over the boons. The concept of them, I understand but I need greater detail.
OutWorlder:
Not being native to this realm you are not limited by its bonds. Any racial or realm level limits do not apply to you. Due to the nature of your arrival in this realm, any items brought with you from yours have been modified to be compatible with this realm. Any surviving items have been bonded to you, and cannot be stolen or taken. This boon can change based on external forces. Gain 2 MR.
Black Steel Blade:
You have 1 Soul Bound blade, as you gain power so will it. The blade can gain skills and attacks as it levels. The blade is bound to you and cannot be used by others. The blade can be summoned to your hand the distance is determined by your MR score (50.7 KM). The summoning is not impeded by solid objects. The number of times your blade can be summoned is calculated by MRxINT/20 rounded down, 29x78/20=113. This blade is made of steel that has traveled through the void. Steel has not been discovered in this world. Due to this, your blade is a bane to all things of this world. This weapon does increased damage to any beings or materials native to this realm.
Human Might:
Humans of this realm have increased physical prowess. All physical attributes are doubled. All physical skills grow at an increased rate.
Human Regeneration:
Humans of this realm have evolved to be physically hardy. You have increased HP, ST, and increased HP and ST regeneration. You will even naturally regen HP and SP during combat at %25 of your normal rate. You are also resistant to all forms of disease, infections, and parasites. Magic damage will halt all regeneration until the magical effect dissipates. You have increased magical resistance equal to twice your MR.
Arch-Mage:
Being the highest-ranking member of your class, you have been designated the Arch for your class. This grants your spells increased power, and range based upon your MR. Because you have created the class this designation will remain and will not be taken if another out levels you in this class. Gain 2 MR.
Storage:
All beings in this realm are granted storage that is integrated into their being. This storage is calculated by MR and varies from being to being. You have a space capable of holding up to 3 cubic meters or 3000 kg.

Insight
You can apprehend the inner nature of things, seeing things and situations intuitively. All skills that use sight gain your full INT. This is normally ¼th. Anyone or thing trying to sneak up or by you would have to double your score in the relevant ability. This can be negated by some magical effects. To do so those magical effects would have to be higher than your MR.
Accelerated Growth:
Due to not being native to these lands you gain XP at double the rate, and all skills, and abilities level faster. This effect stacks with other boons and titles.
I am shocked after reading this. It seems like humans here are built like trolls. It explains a lot, like how I woke up without any injuries. If I would have had any, they would heal while I was unconscious. The bigger and scarier fact is that steel is not a common material in this place. That can mean a bunch of different things. This world could be as far back in its development as the stone age. Or it could be at the tail end of its bronze age. That could mean anything, there might be lower-level civilizations or the people could be nomadic hunter-gatherers. I would not know until I found people. This is the other reason I had argued against being relocated to a new world. You could never know what the technological level was of the world you were being sent to. I knew that there were other humans here but I had no idea of the level of their society or the level of society in general. It seemed like from what I read that humans might be very troll-like. It might mean they are not much better than cavemen at this point.
Well, I could continue to freak out or figure it out. I preferred to do something since it would keep my mind off of my situation. I go back to my status since it is the only reference I have at the moment.
Originator
You have gained the title First of my Kind twice. The title has been upgraded to originator. This title was gained due to being the first of your kind with magic and creating a new magical class. Due to both being magic this title will affect your magical ability. All magical effects are enhanced by half your MR. All casting times are halved. Gain 4 MR.
Class Creation:
You have gained a class new to this realm. You can now teach the basics of this class to anyone who meets the minimum standards. You are also the only class trainer for this class in the realm. Any other you teach can become a class trainer once they pass level 30.
High Magic:
You are capable of learning high magic rituals. You are also able to turn some of your spells into rituals. Gain 2 MR.
Knower of the Lost:
You possess knowledge that has been lost to this realm, or undiscovered. Your realm has discovered many things that have been lost to this realm. Your knowledge of these things gives you great power and leverage. You gain increases to your intelligence and wisdom.
This gives me the biggest insight this place has had and continues to have something that resembles civilization. This also tells me something has happened here. For discoveries to be lost it means that the whole society that discovered them had to be destroyed. It made the cave I was in have greater meaning. It could have been anything that had caused It to happen natural disaster, disease, famine, war, or a combination of any of them.
Reviewing the rest of my status. Most of it seemed to be what I would expect. HP was my health, MP was mana, and ST was stamina. All three pools seemed large but I would not be able to tell until I met other people.
The attributes seemed to be what I knew for the most part. Strength determines how much I can carry and how hard I hit when fighting and was used to calculate my ST pool. Dexterity determined my balance, speed, and accuracy. Constitution determined how healthy I was, including my HP pool. Intelligence was slightly different. It determined how much I learned, and how I understood things. But where it was different was that I got a huge boost for the things I already knew. I had gained fifty points in my intelligence for things that I knew were not common knowledge here. The surprise though was the fact that I had reached the max attribute for intelligence for my level. From what I was reading I would gain more points for this once I leveled. My Wisdom was similar to my intelligence in the fact that I had reached the max for the level. Wisdom accounted for the rest of how I understood some things and how to apply them. Wisdom also accounted for my mana regeneration. Charisma dealt with how I looked and how persuasive I was. Charisma was the quantification of how the world dealt with me.
There was one that was new to me MR. From what I read it was how I interacted with the magic of the world around me. It stood for Magic Resonance. This number was the numerical representation of my magic ability. It seems like this number accounted for a bunch of different things when it came to magic. The higher the number was the more I could do with the magic I possessed. It helped determine my available storage, based on a complicated set of factors. From what I could see it would determine spell damage and effects. It was also set and could not be modified using attribute points. It was weird though that I could tell that my Accelerated Growth boon might interact with it in some way though. I could not tell if that was insight kicking in but I could see how accelerated growth had been weaved through my whole status. The boon even seemed to affect itself in some strange way like it could gain even from its own ability.
Next, I looked at my only two skills. Linguistics was easy, or at least I thought it was. When I focused on the skill, I got a new window.
Linguistics:
As an outworlder, you have been granted this skill to ease your transition into this world. You have been granted every written and spoken language in your surrounding area. This area is calculated using your MR and Intelligence. The corresponding area for this scan was 2500 km. You can with time spent also easily learn new languages.
Well, it was a relief to know that if I was to come upon people, I would be able to communicate. The skill had its own tab for languages that were learned based on the scan. When I clicked on the tab, I expected to see a few languages, but I was surprised to see hundreds of languages listed. I could make heads nor tales of the listed languages, but the sheer volume was surprising. It forced me to reread the text. It hit me shortly after I went through the text a second time. Every written and spoken language, was the key. I had thought it weird that I had been able to understand the intent of the carvings inside the cave. The key was every written spoken language. The carvings in the cave were a form of written language and this was ground zero for the scan so it made sense. I did not know which of the hundreds of languages the cave carvings accounted for but it was one of the many. I also did not know if I would be able to speak the language since it was a written language. My insight led me to believe I would. This would take more investigation.
The last skill I had was Map so I focused on it.
Map:
As an outworlder, you have been granted this skill to ease your transition into this world. This skill is unique to Outworlders. This skill will map out your surroundings. The range of this map is determined by MR and Intelligence. The range of this skill is out to 10 km. As this skill levels, it will gain additional features. This skill is currently at level 0 and will only give out basic information. This skill will keep the information on any places you have already been. The skill will allow you to make one entry about any place you have already been currently.
The map was currently just a dot in the middle of a circle. I could zoom in and out but nothing showed up. I was taking it to mean that since I had not stepped out of the skill had deemed that I have not been anywhere. I could see it possible being a useful skill but I would have to level it and doing that could be difficult or easy depending.
I was noticeably nervous about my lack of other skills and spells normally your class would grant you some. I only had the two I had been granted by way of being from somewhere else. I wondered if this was one of those places where you were granted skills by completing an action. There was only one way to find out.
I decided I need to take stock of my supply situation. I was also reminded by my stomach, that I did not know when the last time I had eaten was. As I looked around, I could see my gear splayed around me haphazardly. My rucksack was off to the side which was a surprise since it had been strapped to my back. It also seemed to be empty which did not bode well for my chances.
My sword was also present in the cave but I was not surprised by that fact since I had read my status already. I grabbed my sword and gave it the once over. The EVA foam shell I had given the blade had crumbled the moment I had picked it up. Surprisingly the leather sheath under the EVA foam had held up well. In fact, the sheath was glowing. I had on a lark on one of my many days of boredom carved a runic pattern into the sheath. Now both the sheath and the pattern were glowing. I also noticed for the first time that I was still wearing my armor. I had gotten used to it before but I had never forgotten that I had it on before due to its weight. Now it felt like nothing to me I wondered if it had been damaged in some way but upon inspection, there had been no damage and all. It was glowing somewhat as well.
I drew my sword from the sheath and gasped as this sword had always been one of my favorites. I had gotten it from an ad I had seen on a video. The blade looked like a hybrid between a katana and a Jian sword. I had looked it up the sword was called a Nijato. There was no real historical reference for it but I had thought it looked cool so I bought it. The blade was made of 1095 carbon steel that was glowing black. It had a pattern down the blade that was glowing a light sliver, and the edge had a red glow. There was an inscription on the blade that read “I seek to cut the sky.” I had never been able to read the words before since they had been in either Japanese or Chinese. My linguistics skill had even worked on my equipment. The wood handle was carved to look like a dragon, the gems in the eyes were now glowing. The weapon now had a menacing air and I felt that the blade wanted to draw blood. The silver pattern seemed to be shifting depending on the angle I used to look at it. Sometimes it looked like wind blowing, or fire, or lighting, or puffs of smoke. I knew it was my blade I could feel that inherently. I also knew that there was more that I was missing. I could feel that I was missing some kind of skill that would tell me more.
I stopped geeking out about my blade and moved over to my rucksack. My GM had said I had more money than sense. I had bought a leather rucksack online and had used my leather tools to hammer in a runic pattern. I had called it my handy rucksack. It was meant to be a bag to hold all of my various adventuring gear. When we had left the car, the bag had been chocked full of gear. I had a canteen, food, blankets, knives, paracord, a first aid kit, two bandoliers, a set of new handmade leather armor, and various other odds and ends.
I had made the armor for Sara our group's rogue. In preparation for this meetup, we had all gotten together to show Sara and our Game Master Ben all of our gear. Sara had taken one look at my armor and been impressed to the point that she did not want to wear what she had bought. She had asked with her big brown puppy dog eyes if I could find the time to make her some armor. I won’t lie and say I agreed because I liked making stuff, I did but that was not the point. I had agreed because I had a thing for Sara for some time. Making her armor had given me a chance to spend more time with her. The process would also require us to be in close contact for some time. I had told her that I could do it mostly with scraps but that I would need one large piece for the chest and that she would have to sit through the test fittings. She had immediately agreed and we had gone out and bought the leather that same day. We had also gone to her dad’s business to print out the patterns. Her father had bought a large printer which meant that the pattern could be printed out in large pieces. It also streamlined the process since we could print out the pattern closer to her size. I had to measure her for the pattern she had quipped that I had only agreed to her request because I would get a chance to feel her up. I had felt my ears redden as I had nervously laughed. We needed to tape the newly printed pattern to her to test the measurements. I had gotten another joking comment about “The things a girl would do to look good.”
The whole process of making Sara’s armor had taken three months. We had met up multiple times during the process. It had also caused some of the others to say we were dating. The funny thing was that Sara had never said anything in response when someone suggested it. I was too nervous myself to say anything either way. I did notice though that the longer the process went, she had become more flirtatious. I had hoped to see what would happen today. I had spent extra time customizing her armor her chest plate now had a griffin pattern in the center. I also added a fleur de lis pattern around the neck. I had added the Gryphon because it was her favorite fantasy creature. I added the fleur de lis because her character’s name was Lily, so it fit her theme. I had also made her a bandolier complete with a set of real throwing knives. I had of course covered the real knives with EVA foam, and made plexiglass replicas for her to be able to use for the LARP.
I was sick with the thought of losing all of that gear was disappointing. I opened my bag and was greeted with a new message.
Rucksack of Holding:
This bag looks like a normal pack to anyone who would view it. The bag does not hold its own storage but amplifies your natural storage by 2. This bag also allows you to see your storage as an inventory with its own screen. This item is bonded to you due to it making the transition with you through the void. This item cannot be stolen or taken from you. If you are killed this item will cease to exist. Due to its nature, this item will resist attempts to identify it. Anyone attempting to identify this would have to have twice your MR. You have a space capable of holding up to 6 cubic meters or 6000 kg.
I was happy to see this it meant that maybe some of the stuff I had with me had made it. When I looked into my inventory, I saw that a large amount of what I had was still there. The armor, two bandoliers, some knives, a metal water bottle, protein bars, my small leather working kit, and a bunch of random knickknacks. There were also two books that I did not recognize. From what I could tell the things that did not survive were my cell phone, the camping mess kit that I had bought for this trip, and a few other miscellaneous items. From what I see anything that was made mostly of plastic or had any type of circuitry, did not make it. There is also a pattern that anything that I made or worked on seems to have made it.
After looking at my backpack I was interested in what the leather pouch had become. I had made it with the intent of it being a bag of holding. It was meant to be used to pick up the imaginary loot we would be granted for the adventure. The GMs were sticklers about players accounting for carrying the imaginary loot. This adventure was supposed to end with an elder dragon, and that meant a huge haul. Even with the three groups taking part an elder dragon horde would mean insane loot. Think of the large dragon horde you had seen in a movie recently. Everyone was expected to have their own means to carry treasure. I had been a bit light in this respect I had gone the opposite route and spent a large amount on gear to win the fight. I figured we would need to win the fight first and had gone big on gear. I guessed that it would be likely that there would be some bags and the like in the horde from the empire that the dragon had conquered. I had bought one level two bag to help me carry some of my share of the treasure. The leather belt pouch opened up and contained a much larger canvas bag. When I bought it the leather of the pouch was plain. I had stamped a rune into the bag with my leather tools. I had done such a nice job that my GM had wanted one as well. When I was done, he was so happy he let me roll play that I had found the bag in a thrift shop and that the owner had never had the items identified. So, I had paid for a size one and gotten a size two. I had taken the plain bag and traced a pattern onto it with a rune to fit my theme. The bag was glowing as well and when I grabbed it and opened the bag I was greeted with another window.
Holder of Many Things:
This bag looks like a normal pouch to anyone who would view it. The bag does not hold its own storage but amplifies your storage by 5. This item is bonded to you due to it making the transition with you through the void. This item cannot be stolen or taken from you. If you are killed this item will cease to exist. Due to its nature, this item will resist attempts to identify it. Anyone attempting to identify this would have to have twice your MR. You have a space capable of holding up to 30 cubic meters or 30,000 kg.
The bag was a simple increase to my carrying capacity, that was not a surprise. The surprise was the amount of capacity that is added, it multiplied my total capacity by five. I already had what I deemed to be a huge inventory but this made it insane. Something told me I should never let on to the size of my inventory, it might cause me problems. The last thing left that I could see visibly was my quiver.
Many Arrow Quiver:
This quiver looks empty to all who view it. This quiver does not add to or amplify your storage. The purpose of this quiver is to create a section of storage dedicated to weapons, and armor. This allows you to create an armory section of your storage. The armory will allow you to store your armor as one piece. You may 2 times a day store or equip your armor directly from the quiver. Any ranged ammunition stored in the quiver for more than 1 day gains the returning ability. Any ammunition damaged by its use gains the broken condition and will be repaired over time. You have 5 spaces for armor and weapons, and 10 spaces for ranged ammunition. 1 armor slot has been assigned. and 2 weapon slots have been assigned. 1 ammunition slot has been assigned.
Well, that was not what I was expecting but it does make life more convenient. I also watched as the two survival knives, I had brought with me for our camping trip moved into one of the weapon slots to accompany my bow. It was then that it hit me the little thing that had nagged me from before. The knives had stacked instead of taking up three spaces they had only taken up one. The knives were similar but not the same, so the fact that they had been stacked together was a surprise. Normally bringing real knives to an event would have been a no-no. This time it was allowed since we were camping, the agreement was that we would leave any camping items in the camping area while we were gaming. I was also surprised that it had not registered the bandoliers as weapons. I would play around with that later. I pulled out a protein bar and some jerky I had stashed, and my water bottle. The food tasted strange but it served its purpose. Unsurprisingly with my luck, the water bottle had been empty. The bottle had received an upgrade and was now magic.
Magic Canteen:
This bottle is made from metal not native to this realm. The bottle now holds 300 liters of water. This canteen cleans the water of any impurities.
It had been one of the 30oz bottles I had filled it before we had left. I had drunk from it on our hike and knew there should still be water in it. The water had not made it through the transport. The fact that it cleaned the water led me to believe that the water here might be contaminated. It also could be that the water here is fine and that was carried over from home.
I decided that my priority needed to be finding water. Once I found a source and filled my bottle it would not be an issue, but until then thirst would be my biggest issue. I could ration my food out and there was bound to be something edible I could find.
The first thing I decided was to use my stat points. I was always a big proponent of taking the wait-and-see approach while gaming. This was real life though and having more hit points could save my life. I divided my points evenly, my insight telling me that this was the best route to take. I felt like it would be bad to let anyone stat get too out of line with the others would be bad. When I was done my points were very evenly allocated. I could feel when I was done, I was getting close to the cap on my charisma. Adding the last few points seem to strain my vision and took more effort. Adding points to my other physical stats had not had this issue. I could only surmise that this was the human heritage kicking in. I could add the points because I was not from here but it was more difficult. I was tempted to test it by putting points into intelligence or wisdom but decided against it since I still had free points pending.
When I was done, I exited out of my menu and immediately screamed and passed out.
I came to, a short while later. Distributing that many points had at once had been a bad idea. My body had to adjust to the new changes and doing that at once had been too much for my nervous system. I had blacked out from the pain of the changes. Lesson learned not to try to do that again. There had been one benefit.
You have learned the skill Pain Resistance. lvl 0 < lvl 5.
My exercise in stupidity had confirmed one thing for me. I could learn skills by doing things. This would help me fill out my skills. I also learned that skills had levels as well which was something that I would have to account for. There were no points to advance skills, at least none that I had been given. That meant that I could only advance my skills by using them. But in rereading my boons I should be able to level up my skills relatively fast. I had two that increased the speed that my skills level with so that should be helpful.
Just sitting here inside the cave while comforting was not going to get anything done. I needed water and while I wanted to stay in this cave sooner or later, I was going to need to leave. The first thing I needed to do was to get fully kitted out. I got all of my equipment settled. I put my bow together it was much sleeker now it had been changed by the transfer as well. The arrows were also different being heavier, and shiny they had been made from carbon fiber. I was not so sure about what they were made of now. I also slung my bandolier across my chest my wands in their comforting place.
Fully kitted out I was ready to move, I was surprised at how light everything was. It seemed like just a few moments ago that I was struggling to haul everything through the woods.
