As a topic of much debate the Fermi Paradox is one of the most discussed topics by astronomers and physicists. With all of the stars in the universe there has to be other planets that sustain life. If that is the case, why have we not been able to find the signs of life in the wider universe. What if the answer to those questions is simple? The humans of Earth have been quarantined, not for what we have done but because our forebears were deemed too dangerous. What if human life did not originate on earth? Or even the Sol system? What if the humans of earth came from a subset of humans know to the wider galaxy as the Imperium? And those humans based on their growth and abilities were seen as too dangerous by the wider galaxy? So, they were exiled by the wider galactic community! Not able to accept this the imperium sent out seeds of their DNA. Earth being one of the seeds. Has also been quarantined. Now due to galactic Politics the quarantine around Earth is being tested and breached. A portal has appeared taking our Protagonist to a new world where he is forced to adapt to the ways of the new world. One with a system that is familiar to him.
