“…huh?”
The many soldiers pointed their spears at Lily, one of the men walking forward.
“What is someone from the order doing here in Atlas? You didn’t think you wouldn’t be caught when you were putting on such a show did you?” A man said with a gruff voice.
Lily stayed frozen at the sight of a blade so close to her neck. She knew she had no reason to fear death or harm. But the feeling of a knife being plunged into her still made her shake.
“I-I um, it’s n-not-” She could barely think straight. She knew nothing about the word as it was now. Was this during the war? After? Before? She was lost in a world that was no longer just a place in her imagination, a world much bigger than her section of it she wrote.
“Darnell, put some divinity repressing cuffs on her. We’ll ask his majesty what we should do in the mean time.” The man with the gruffy voice ordered.
“Yes Captain Oliver.” A voice said from behind. Darnell walked forward with a pair of cuffs till he stood in front of Lily.
“Please lift your hands up.”
Unsure of what else to do she decided to listen and lifted her hands as she had been told. Letting him put the divinity restraining cuffs on. Although the effect was minimal if at all effective.
”Let us head back now.” Oliver shouted making sure all the soldiers could hear.
The soldiers nodded and retracted there weapons causing Lily to breath a sigh of relief.
Lily was brought onto a carriage with a few soldiers including Darnell as Oliver got on a horse that led the group. As they road she began to realize just how close to the Emperors estate she had ended up. She was practically in his backyard.
Lily sat silent looking out the window, besides the men holding spears and wearing armor, seeing a castle really solidified she was no longer in her world.
The solders sat all staring daggers into Lily.
”We’ve arrived at the castle step out.” Oliver said as the solders led her along to the castle doors.
”Sir Oliver welcome back! But…who’s that?” A man stationed at the door asked staring at Lily.
This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
“Someone from the order.” Oliver responded.
”The order?! I don't know why you'd bring them her…but i trust I your judgment.” Said the man stared at Lily, a mix of confusion and distain on his face. As he opened the large door.
After a bit of walking they reached a large door and two men stood on each side.
“Announcing Sir Oliver!” Yelled the men as they opened the door to reveal a large throne room, a man with red eyes and black hair at the very end.
“Welcome Sir Oliver. I see you brought a guest along with you.” the Emperor said, a look in his eyes that made you feel below him.
“She appears to be someone from the order. We found her in the forest behind the castle.” Oliver said with a kneel.
The emperor’s brow furrowed, and a visible vain bulged out of his forehead. His teeth grinding against each-other. His rage visible and his message clear.
”I see, so a rat has come to it's death then, send that thing to the dungeons! We’ll show the empire the head lobbed off yet another rat of the order!”
“Right away your majesty!” All the men yelled.
“W-Wait your majes-”
”SILENCE! Your excuses mean nothing to me! I will carve you up myself if you try to utter another word from between your lips!” He yelled, his rage was all consuming, leaving Lily shaking.
Lily fell silent to the emperors rage, his eyes bloodshot and his voice roaring through the hall, she was quickly dragged to the dungeons after the men witnessed an anger from him they had never seen before. The men dragging her along much rougher than before. His words almost an order to how she could be treated.
As they went down the stairs lower and lower into the dungeon. A foul stench started to engulfed the area around Lily.
“W-What is that.” She said choking on the smell.
As they reached the last step she found what the smell was, rows of cages, men woman and children all of which wore the garbs of priests, they were being treated like animals, less than beasts. Bodies of the dead pilled along the walls as bugs crawled on them and flies hovered above.
“I-I never wrote this…this is disgusting.” She said to herself, she wanted to run, she wanted to free these people, the disgusting disgraceful empire that she had wrote, she was the cause of this scene before her, she was the reason suffering like this existed even if not by intention.
The ground beneath her began to crack and tear, her body flickered her mind unable to keep straight, her true form showing from behind the veil. Her mind was craking as she tried to hold herself together, but a scene like this was beyond something she could handle.
“W-Whats going on!” Several men yelled.
The people in cages began to heal and the cages melted allowing an exit.
Her real body showing through more and more as the ground shook harder. The solders around her were pushed back into walls.
Geluz Ent Ozmosia!
The priests one by one began to disappear into a pillar of light. Chunks of the castle collapsing in on itself.
“Everyone run out of the dungeon!” Oliver yelled staring at Lily before running himself.
As everyone disappeared Lily stood there as the castle collapsed around her.
“I have to fix the rights I have wronged in the creation of this world…I’m no longer Lily the girl who hid away in books…I’m Thea, the Goddess of Order!” she yelled, her voice booming through the castle and the empire as a whole, while she to was enveloped by a pillar of light.
The whole empire heard the voice of Thea, the goddess who had long abandoned the church and its people proclaim her existence, along with her first show of power.
The collapse of the Throne that shook all.
