Chapter 1- The birth of the Valkrie

AN- I know i said the next chapter would be released at the end of this week, but I finished it unexpectedly in less time. I don't have a particular schedule for writing, but I'll try to get the next chapter out as soon as possible.

This one is a little bit short than the previous one, but i hope you guys will enjoy it. And thank you all for your comments, it made me really happy that some people had the time to read my noobish ff. So without further adieu here's the first chapter~~~

------------------

Darkness everywhere……

“Wak….” Someone said softly.

“Wake u….” Again hearing the voice Ash slowly started regaining his consciousness.

“Wake up”, this time he heard it clearly, the tender voice of a woman.

‘Mother’, his first thoughts were that his mother had come to wake him up to get ready for the school.

But as he opened his eyes, he saw pure darkness everywhere. He was sure that he had opened his eyes, so why was it so dark in there.

Trying to look around, he heard the voice again,

“I see you are awake.”

He tried to find the source of the voice, but to his dismay only the void filled his eyes. Moving his body, he felt nothing. Only that he was light as a feather, slowly drifting to somewhere unknown.

Ash tried to speak, but nothing came out. But even before he could complain, the voice spoke again,

“You are in between dimensions.”

Ash was a little surprised thinking that the voice had answered his question even without him speaking anything. Shortly after his thoughts were in place, he remembered the last place he was at.

That night, he had killed someone for the first time but he didn’t feel guilty. Instead he felt calmed to kill the scum that was going to rape another girl again.

But he died, he somehow knew that. But deep inside, his heart ached on the thought of leaving his mother alone in that world. ‘How was she doing? Is she eating properly?’ Questions about her well being popped up in his mind one after another.

Reading his thoughts, the voice said gently, “Don’t worry child, your mother is strong.”

Hearing the woman’s voice again, Ash quirked his attention, “Who are you? And how do you know about my mother?”, was what he thought.

“I’m the goddess of war, Umbra. For why I know about your mother’s well being, is that I just looked at where she is now.”

Hearing this, Ash got a skeptical about whether he should believe what the woman was saying or not.

“I know it’s hard to believe this, but please listen to my selfish request.”, the voice seemed in a hurry.

Trying to motion with his head to go on, Ash felt quite dumb realizing that he had none. And it was not like there was anything else he could do in a situation like that except to listen to the woman, and he was thankful for it, because anyone alone in that void for more than a minute would have gone insane without some company.

“I want you to become my champion, and free me from this prison.”

Ash spoke in his mind, “How come you get trapped in here first? Aren’t you a goddess, and why can’t I see you?”

The goddess’s words leaked anger,” My fellow gods, and goddess’s watching me rise in power got worried that I would become too powerful than them; pathetic beings!!”

She was really angry; Ash could feel it as the waves of energy distorted the void. She continued controlling her anger,

“so they attacked my champion, killed my race, and finally trapped me in this space as they couldn’t entirely kill me. And as I don’t want to waste any more power to retain a physical from, so you have to bear with my voice alone.”

She paused a bit before continuing,” I’ve been here for more than a thousand years, trying to save some mana so that I can ask a soul to free me. And finally when I had enough power, I found the one that fit the best for my purpose.”

Ash knew that she was talking about him, so he just had to ask the question, “Why me?”

“Little child, you have the potential to reach the stage that no one has reached before in my race. Your soul is pure, yet I see the anger in you. You control it, twist it, bend it to become your power. But you don’t have the darkness in you that other people with anger issues have which they lose themselves in forever.”

Ash was a little baffled with all the things she was saying, but ‘Anger issues? Did I have something like that?’. Well he had beaten some delinquents that pissed him off more than a few times, but he never really went overboard.

“Did you know how you killed that man? How powerful was your kick?”, she asked him, as she read through his memories.

Pondering about her question, she was right. He had never been that strong to make some adult man fly 2 meters away from him with just a kick.

“The anger is your fuel, my child.”

Ash thought for a minute. With no choice left for him, he got directly to the issue, “How can I save you then, and what is in it for me?”

He was not a messiah to get himself mixed up in some god’s business, in this case a goddess’s.

“The only way for gods to gain power is through their champions, so you’ll become my champion, and rise in power. But beware, if other gods find your identity then I won’t be able to save you, so I’ll hide some things on your status.”

Ash at this point shouted out in his mind, “Wait, wait, what do you mean by status?”. He had a rough idea as to what she was saying, but still he wasn’t ready for that.

“Ah, the thing that you call games in your world, they have races and status in them, right? The world where you’ll be born anew has the same system.”

‘You gotta be kidding’, was what he wanted to yell at her, but running away from reality won’t help him, so he just placed the information into his mind. ‘She can read my thoughts…..well whatever’

“Yes, and don’t worry I’m serious. This system was made by the true god just for his entertainment, and he doesn’t really meddle with anything after once he’s done making it, just watches from above.”, she paused

“I don’t have enough time it seems; I’m slowly losing power just by stalling your soul here.” She spoke with a hint of nervousness.

“The world where you’re going is filled with hardships, so I’ll give you a parting gift just to boost your growth a bit.” She said, and Ash felt a rush of power through him.

“Be safe, and stay strong, I’ll talk to you once you’ve enough power to link with me. And don’t tell anyone about your race, cause you’re the first in thousand years.”

Just before Ash got consumed by the light, he heard a whisper, “I’ll make your any wish true as a reward for freeing me.”

-------------- Bellsvere town, Kingdom of Sirrg-------

Pacing up and down the corridor, a man in his early 20’s with brown medium length hair, and similar colored eyes, was biting his nails as sweat flowed down his forehead. His body was lean but it held power.

“Marcus you look like your heart is going to stop before you even see your first child.”, snickered an old man with a face full of white beard.

“Father, you are here!” he came near the old man with a relieved face.

But as he was to about say something, the muffled groaning coming from the door behind his back, made him nervous again, as he turned around to stare at the door.

Placing his hand on Marcus’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, Grace is stronger than you think”, the old man said in a reassuring tone.

Nodding in understanding Marcus just stared at the gate, but worry was written all over his face.

After a minute, they heard a cry from inside.

Looking at each other in the eyes, both men made their way inside hurriedly.

Inside a beautiful woman, around the age of 20, was sitting on a bed with a flushed face while holding a bundle of fur with a crying child inside. She pushed aside her glistening blonde hair soaked with sweat to reveal her blue eyes.

Cradling the child in her arms, she looked up at the newcomers. She smiled at Marcus, said in sweet tone,

“It’s a girl.”

Marcus smiled, and relieved to see that both the child and mother were safe.

Both men moved to the bedside to take a look at the child who had stopped crying, and was looking around inquisitively with her steel blue eyes.

“Ohoho, what a beautiful girl” said the old man, as he looked at the child staring back at him.

The old woman near the bed said teasingly, “Old coot aren’t a little too excited to see your granddaughter?”

A vein popped on the old man’s head, “Dear wife, please don’t ruin my delight with your sharp tongue.”

The other couple watched them with their newborn child from the sidelines while giggling.

“Do you want to hold her?”, said the young woman to Marcus.

Marcus gladly held the child as her wife passed her with extreme care. As Marcus looked carefully at the child with silver whitish hair, he let out a smile.

“She looks beautiful, Grace” he said while making faces to make the child laugh.

“Yes she does”, her wife Grace smiled at the happy man making weird faces.

“So what are you going to name her?”, said the old woman ignoring the ranting of her husband in the back.

Thinking for a while with her eyes closed, Grace held her child back in her arms.

“Aurora…..Aurora Walker”

The child in question smiled as if she liked what she heard. Her mother gasped, as well as others on seeing a beautiful smile.

“A befitting name for such a beautiful child”, the old man happily nodded his head.

“Ohoho lets celebrate this occasion, I’m going to drink as much I can today”, the old man made his way outside.

“No you are not! Who do you think takes care of you after you get yourself drunk mindless!!”, shouted the old woman going after her husband.

As they left the room, the young couple looked at each other, and chuckled.

“You should rest now; I’ll look after the inn.” Marcus patted his child on the head before giving a light kiss to her wife. He moved out of the room merrily skipping.

Alone in the room, Grace pulled up her blouse revealing her bosom to the child.

“You must be hungry, now drink up”, she said affectionately, as she brought the child closer to her chest, whose eyes were a little more awake now.

After a few moments of suckling, the child slept peacefully on her side as she caressed the child’s stomach while humming a song.

------- POV Ash/Aurora ----------

Feeling restricted, Ash tried to move around.

After the light had blinded him in the void, he came to his senses to his new environment. It was comfortably warm, yet the inability to move made him irritated.

Following what the goddess had said to him, he thought ‘Birth anew? So I’m inside my mother’s womb….I hope so, cause I don’t know how to break the egg from inside if I’m in one….’

But those thoughts were quickly disrupted as he felt a rhythmic beating near him.

After a few moments as his thoughts wandered, the area surrounding him started contracting.

‘Looks like it’s my time to shine’, he thought to himself, as the cries of the woman grew in intensity.

Slowly but surely he was being pulled out, and once he felt the outside air on his skin, he opened his eyes to see an old woman looking at him with a curious but nervous gaze.

“It’s a healthy girl Grace, but she’s not crying”, said the old woman looking somewhere else.

‘Huh if you think I’ll cry then you’re totally wrong…………wait……………’ his thoughts suddenly came to halt as he tried to process the information he just heard, ignoring the fact that he could easily understand them even though the language was different.

‘I must have heard wrong, yeah…my ears might still be adapting to the new environment’, he tried to reassure himself.

As the old woman passed Ash to the other woman, he looked at her. She was beautiful just like his mother in his old world. Blonde hair, flushed cheeks, blue eyes, and a petite face. She was smiling, looking at Ash, but her next words made Ash blackout again.

“She’s is lovely”

‘……’ The feeling of something missing, that he had been denying completely from his new birth came to haunt him.

‘My magnum……Where the fuck is it!!!’ Ash shouted in his mind.

‘I know I didn’t get the chance to use it, but still it’s absolutely unjust to remove it…..’ slowly tears started building up, and he cried at the loss of his long barrel he was proud of.

“Oh she’s finally crying”, said the woman looking down at her.

Suddenly the noise from the door opening made Ash tone down a little. He could hear the chattering they did among themselves, as he slowly accepted the cruel fate that the Goddess had left him with.

But as an old man looked at him, jollily speaking “Ohoho, what a beautiful girl”.

Ash just stared back at him while angrily shouting in his mind, ‘Don’t rub it in where it hurts old man!!’

Ash was soon passed to a young looking man in his 20’s, who started making weird faces.

‘Must be my father…..please just stop, I’m not in the mood of laughing right now….’, still hung over the loss of his manhood.

“So what are you going to name her?” he heard the old woman’s voice again.

After a while he was passed back to the beautiful woman, his mother, who closed her eyes after looking at him for a minute.

“Aurora…..Aurora Walker”, she said opening her blue eyes, and looking down at him tenderly.

‘Well at least the name is good’, Ash thought as he showed a smile.

Watching his new mother gasp, he thought nervously, ‘Eh…do I still have that creepy smile from my previous life?’

But to relieve his worries, his mother kissed his forehead.

The old man, and woman left the room while shouting something at each other.

‘What a weird family’

“You should rest now; I’ll look after the inn”, as his new father closed near him, and patted him on the head, kissed his mother lightly before moving out of the room.

‘An inn owner huh, stable income, at least I won’t have to worry about looking for work’

Before his future plans could further anymore, he heard the sound of clothes rustling near him.

Looking up, he could see his mother pulling up her blouse.

The level headed child was looking at the peak before him, ‘gulp….’

‘No I’m not ready! I want to go back’, but to no avail for the cries in his mind, his mother brought his head, and pushed his mouth to her bosom.

‘It’s not like I have any choice, let’s just get this over with’, he started sucking awkwardly.

After filling his stomach, he felt drowsy. Her mother placed him on her side, and started caressing him on his stomach while humming a tune.

‘I hope I can grow quickly’, he thought before sluggishly sleep overtook him.
