Today is Friday and the promise to meet up with my sister is on Saturday. I hope that the quest [ The Ruins Exploration ] finishes by today . I had already prepared for the quest yesterday before logging off and discussing with Mac about the quest. He was a bit jealous but didn't sulk much and told me he will try to level up as much as possible as it was a chance for him to surpass me. The expedition team consist of 6 guards and 4 researchers who are well-experienced in the exploration of ruins. I am familiar with the guards as they were the ones who took care of Wolf-kun and the pair of guards from the incident with Rin-chan. The guard around my age from the incident is Kei-kun, he volunteered In accompanying me as a guard as an apology. I told him it was fine but Theo-san had already assigned him. He is unexpectedly timid and It took me a few days to get friendly enough with him and address him with -kun because he still looks like he is in his late 20s.

We weren't attacked by monsters when we were near the capital but as we kept going deep inside the forest toward the ruins we were attacked sometimes. I was told to fight too so that the guards could get an inkling of my strength Wolf-kun was told not to attack. After around one and a half hours of travelling the level of monsters was something I could not handle and was taken care of by the guards. They didn't do any flashy moves but their coordination was something eye-catching they took care of all monsters without much difficulty and made sure to guard me and the researchers. But even they were tensed up when a Big-Boar came, but Wolf-kun defeated him with few hits. Everyone was once again surprised by his strength which was strange for someone so young. The most excited people were 3 female researchers but the male didn't seem much excited. I wonder if he is not good with wolves. I learned new things on the journey like they couldn't do appraisal on Wolk-kun. They expect him to be a mutated species from a higher-ranking wolf species or something ancient. They also carried weapons for self-defence and had one Item-bag to store all their research tools.

We could now see traces of ruins and life which must have existed here but now all that is left is some parts of buildings. It was decided that we take a small break to rest and eat before going to the ruins. The guards found a place where we could see our surroundings clearly and also ensured a way out in case of emergency. I offered to make them lunch and they agreed. I decided to make curry and rice. The curry had big pieces of meat from the monsters we defeated but I was scolded when I was cooking. They told me that I shouldn't cook something that is quite fragrant but both Rin and Wolf-kun opposed that idea and the guards made troubled faces. I was then advised by the researchers to get a magic tool to hide smell or use some magic skills next time. This time it was done by one of the female researchers. Everyone liked the curry and rice and I promised to treat them again if we adventure again together. Bread is more common than rice in Gracia KIngdom. Rice is available but eaten rarely here. The male researcher especially liked the curry and asked me for the recipe. He also loosened his guard against Rin-chan and Wolf-kun and they bonded over eating curry. He told me that although there are some tamers most people would be guarded against monsters as they are natural enemies and there have been cases where even tamed monsters attacked humans. After eating when we were on our way to the main ruin on the way we decided to explore the area I asked Wolk-kun if he could help us by looking if there is something around here and after sniffing the air he guided us near a building.

Researchers found the hidden entrance without any troubles and 3 guards and 1 researcher decided to survey first. They returned after a bit and told us that it was mostly likely one of the hiding spots of bandits they were looking for. There was some treasure but most of it was taken away. They mentioned that I will be rewarded for it. Rin-chan grew jealous while I was praising Wolf-kun, So I patted her too but she was still sulky so I asked if she could find something too. She jumped around in a nod and glowed for a bit and guided us towards some herbs. The researchers said that it was a very rare herb helpful in making high-level potions and will fetch us quite a bit and praise Rin-chan a lot. Of course, they would she is so cute and helpful. Wolf-kun was also getting excited and gestured to me that he too will look again but I stopped him, to which his tail drooped I told him that we will look some other time and gave him a rub to console and he started wagging his tail furiously. I think I could even see some dust clouds from that to which everyone laughed looking at him and I told him to lead us to where he woke up.
