Chapter 8:Unexpected Encounter

“Shit, I hear something,” Mors said.

They both tried to locate the source of the noise.

“Which direction did you hear it from?” Vita asked.

“I don't know, but it sounds like it's coming from somewhat close,” Mors replied.

“The map on the system isn't showing anything,” Vita noted.

“It might be a mutant,” Mors suggested.

“Then we need to move,” Vita said urgently.

“We need to get into a building to hide,” Vita insisted.

“Mors, why don't we run?” Mors asked.

“We don't have time. Follow me,” Vita ordered.

They rushed into a small house and carefully, but a little hurriedly, headed to a safe room to hide.

“Mors, quickly block the door with something!” Vita urged.

“We have some baby oil we got from the ruined apartment. Let me use it to cover ourselves

so it doesn't smell us,” Vita said as Mors was blocking the door.

“Agh!” They heard a sound from outside.

“Fuck,” Vita exclaimed as Mors secured the door.

“Mors, transform into a wolf right now!” Vita commanded.

“Okay,” Mors responded swiftly.

Then he transformed. Vita quickly applied the oil on Mors's fur and then on himself before transforming into a wolf as well.

Now in wolf form, natural communication was difficult.

More sounds were coming from outside and it seen to be closer

They both hid under a bed together to avoid being seen since they were on the first floor of the house.

Mors sensed that it were very close.

Telepathic communication was possible because they both were in their wolf form

“Mors, relax. It seems like the mutant is hunting during the day,” Vita communicated telepathically.

“And don’t get any sexual thoughts while we’re under here,” Vita added.

“Okay, but I’m sensing that the mutant is very very close,” Mors responded.

“Fuck, come closer to me then,” Vita urged.

“Didn't you say not to think about that—” Mors began, but Vita interrupted.

“No, I need you to drain my energy to try to control the mutant and make it move away,” Vita explained.

“The mutant is moving away from here,” Mors said.

“It’s still close, isn’t it?” Vita asked.

“We need to get out of here fast, or we be late to the survivors and they will die from the horde,” Vita stated.

Mors followed Vita's instructions and moved closer, beginning to slowly drain his energy.

Vita's wolf body weakened, leaving him unable to move for a moment.

“I Untransform when you have control of it, and pack up everything,” Vita said softly.

“Okay,” Mors acknowledged.

The mutant was an infected person with a mutation that caused it to transform into a powerful being capable of killing a bear with its bare hands within seconds. It retained some human intelligence, making it a very dangerous creature, but it would eventually die due to instability and aggressive behavior.

Seconds later...

“It's a little too far for me to control him,” Mors said, growing tired.

“The oil won’t hide us for much longer if it senses us here,” Vita warned.

Mors then hugged Vita while both were in wolf form.

“What’s this for?” Vita asked.

“I need a bit more,” Mors replied.

“You might drain too much if you start having sexual thoughts,” Vita cautioned.

“In this situation, I don’t have a choice,” Mors responded.

Vita’s energy represented life, which was very powerful, while Mors’s energy represented death, also quite potent.

“You’re draining too much. I might pass out soon,” Vita said, everything becoming fuzzy around him.

“I’ve got control of it,” Mors insisted.

“Good, just leave it aw—” Vita began, but then he passed out.
