HP: Ronan's Journey
Chapter-78: Johanson Mansion

Chapter-78: Johanson Mansion

Ronan was sitting on the bench in one of London’s busiest metro station. Countless muggles were hurrying in and out of the place, and all were in a hurry. He on the other hand was quietly sitting on the bench, sipping coffee. From time to time, he checked the bangle in his hand, trying to see whether all the Runes were lit up or not.

He was a little anxious because he was about to test his bangle. He wanted to see whether this thing was everything that he hoped for, and whether it worked or not. If he was right, then while wearing this bangle, he would be able to perform magic in a muggle-infested place, and the ministry wouldn't be alerted.

He chose to do it in a place with countless muggles, thinking that he could use the endless crowd as a means of escape. But now as he was finally doing here, he realized that his assumption was futile. The ministry would know that the magic performed near him, which meant that he would be able to run very far.

He made a mistake while planning this day.

AH! Let's just get this over with….Here goes nothing. Then waved his wand to cast a simple cleaning spell on his shoes.

He then closed his eyes and waited. Seconds turned into minutes, and no one approached him nor did he feel that any wizard or witch came to the site.

Smiling he opened his eyes. The Deming-away charm was a success…

The next day after packing his clothes and otherr essentials, Ronan brought his trunk downstairs when he heard someone knock at the door.

“What the hell is here now?” he said, as he peeked into the peephole to see someone that he was not expecting. With pink hair, and a bob cut there stood Tonks.

Oh hell no! I dont want to meet that bitch.

He figured that if he didn't answer the door, she would eventually go away. She could not come in, he had taken apporpriate security measures to ensure that, specially after Dumbledore was waltzed into his house unannounced the previous year.

“RONAN!” She yelled from outside. “Open up! I know that you are inside,” She banged at the door once again.

As there was no light coming from behind him, she wasn't able to see his shadow from the crack of the door. So he was confident that there was no way she could confirm that he was inside. Which meant that she would soon go away.

And he was right. After banging on the door for a 20mins or so, she apparatted away.

He sighed with relief and then came out locking the door behind him. He then took a cab to Muggle Railway station.

For him, the house in Scotland was an important piece of property. Not many people know about it, nor they have seen it, he figured that if he could cast a Fidelius Charm on it, then he could make that house his secret hideout. And that is why he was especially using muggle transport, as he didnt want anyone from their world to know exactly where he was going…

Ronan was reading a book called Alchemic Hooters, which was a book about the wonders of Alchemy. The book didnt delve deep into the subject, just enough to make a newbie understand what the subject was all about.

His training was sprinting across green fields, and his coach was almost empty. There were a few people at the end of the coach, but all were far away from him.

“That looks like an interesting read,” came the voice of a middle-aged man.

A man had taken a seat opposite to him. He looked like a muggle, had a big mustache, and was wearing a three-piece suit. But the peculiar about the man was that he took the seat opposite to him when there were so many empty seats all over the coach.

He made eye contact with a man and passed him a warm smile.

“It is,” he replied. “It is a book that deals with the intricacies of the Alchemy and is quite a good read for a newbie like me.”

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

“Alchemy?” the man chuckled, “What kind of nonsense is that?”

Ronan chucked, “Nonsense? Have you heard of Philospher’s stone or did you waste all of your seven years in Hogwarts chasing butterflies?”

The man stared at him with contempt, “What gave it away?” he asked.

“Tonks.. You are just a bad witch. And a bad auror. It is your aura that gave it away,” he said and then went back to the book.

The man morphed and soon became into a young Nymphaodora Tonks. She maintained her black hair this time, as she didnt want to garner attention, “How did you know?” she asked.

“A Legillmen of my caliber can easily listen to the thoughts of anyone who just makes eye contact with me,” he said, with his head still in the book.

“Werent you an Occlumen?” she said while shifting in her seat. “And what are you doing here anyway?”

He kept the book aside, and spoke, “No, the real question should be… What the hell are you doing here? Unlike me, you have a family, right? Why aren't you at your parent's place?”

“I am working,” she said in a venomous tone. It seemed to him that she didnt want to be here in the first place.

“What is your assignment? You aren't here to enjoy the train ride like me, are you?”

She passed him a sly smile, “You enjoying the train? Muggle train? Do you expect me to believe in this Erumpent shit?”

“I dont like your tone young lady,” he said, “You are stalking me, not the other way around. So the question is… What the hell are you doing here? Fell in love with me or something?”

“Ew,” she made a disgusted face.

“Dont. Test. My. Patience Nymphadora. I asked you, what the hell are you doing here?” he asked authoritatively.

“I am here looking out for you,” she exclaimed, “What else? You are a kid. You shouldn't be out here….” She was not able to complete her sentence, as her body got tensed.

With his telekinesis, he made her sit straight, also closed her mouth, and started looking into her eyes. She was an auror and probably understood what he was trying to do, so she shut her eyes.

“Open your eyes,” he said in the sweetest voice possible, as he started choking her. She tried to resist, tried flinging her arms and legs, but in the end, she had to give up. She opened her eyes and it only took one non-verbal spell and wand movement from under the table to get into her head.

He didnt want to pry into her memories, so he hurried up and concentrated, and finally came to a memory. There she was sitting in a cubicle, when Kingsley Shacklebolt came to her.

“Dumbledore had requested you to follow Ronan Johanson and keep him safe,” he said.

She was disgusted by the prospect of the job, “Why sir? Dont that twerp lives in the castle for the holidays?”

“No. This year he has decided to go home?”

She sighed with frustration, “Sir… My mother is not feeling well.. And I was thinking………” it was then he was forcefully thrown out of her mind.

Ronan looked rather surprised that she was able to throw him out like that. But figured that she had the training of an Auror, so it made sense that she would have some Occlumency training.

“I got what I need. Now the questions…” Ronan into her eyes, “What should I do with you…” he immediately stunned her, then released her from the telekinesis.

As the next station arrived, he cast a muggle-repellent charm, and everyone in their coach either went to the next bogey or got off the train. With a flick of his wand, he lowered all the curtains of the coach. And then he looked at Nymphadora and passed her a warm smile. She could only look in horror, unable to move any part of her body. He then proceeded and obligated a few parts of her memory…

The sun had set when Ronan finally reached a small town at the edge of Scotland called Pillsbury. Dragging his heavy trunk he made his way outside of the desolate station. The good thing was, as he got outside he spotted a taxi stationed outside.

When he got near the taxi, the middle-aged driver lowered his window and asked, “That is a rather big trunk for someone your age. Dont you think so, lad?”

He chuckled, “I get that a lot,” then he fished out the official inheritance papers that he received and asked, “Sir, can you help me get to Aurora Vista.”

“Sure. Where exactly?” he looked at the man in confusion.

“What do you mean where? Aurora Vista is a single estate right?”

The driver looked him from up and down, “Who are you, lad? Why do you want to go Aurora Vista?”

Curious about the driver’s reaction, he figured might as well tell the truth. And skim some information out of him, “I am the new owner of Aurora Vista.”

The man’s eyes widened with surprise, “You own Aurora Vista?”

“Yeah,” he said, “What’s wrong?”

“You pulling my leg kid? Is this some sort of a prank?”

Ronan didnt have enough patience to go with the stuff. He instantly took out his wand and confounded the driver, compelling him to tell the truth. “Tell me about Aurora Vista,”

Under the effects of the charm, the driver truthfully said, “Aurora Vita is the name of a mountain, located at the edge of town. It is considered haunted by the locals. Very creepy place,”

“No.. That can't be right. Aurora Vista cannot be a mountain. That part of my family dont have that kind of money,”

The driver was still entranced so he said, “Aurora Vista is a mountain,”

“Scratch that.” He said, “Does Aurora Vista have some sort of mansion or a house?”

“People do talk about a mansion being at the top of the mountain. But I am not sure,”

Ronan then asked the direction of the mountain. It helped that there was only one mountain in the surrounding area, so it would be easier for him to find Aurora Vista. After undoing the charm, and erasing the man’s memory he started to move.

It didnt take him long to find a quiet and desolate place. There he opened his trunk and took his broom. And with a ballon charm on the trunk, and disillusionment charm on him, took his new Nimbus 2000 and flew off…
