Chapter 23 The Abyss of Despair

Happy times are always short-lived. Before Alexander and Irene could enjoy a moment of peace, danger came quietly.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The sound of a series of musket shots broke the tranquility of the forest and awakened the lovers embracing each other in the tree hole.

"Damn it! They are catching up!" Alexander's face changed. He quickly pushed Irene away and said anxiously, "Go! I'll stop them!"

"No! I won't go! I want to be with you!" Irene held Alexander's hand tightly. She knew that if they fell into the hands of those demon hunters, what awaited them would be a fate more terrible than death.

"Be obedient! Irene, you will only drag me down if you stay here!" Alexander pried Irene's hand apart and pushed her deep into the tree hole, "Remember, live! For me, you must live too!"

Before Irene could react, Alexander had turned around and rushed out of the tree hole.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The sound of the musket became more frequent, and the bullets shot at Alexander like raindrops, with bark flying and wood chips splashing.

Alexander dodged left and right, flexibly avoiding the attack of bullets, while looking for opportunities to counterattack.

"Alexander! Be careful!" Irene hid in the tree hole, anxiously watching the fierce battle outside. Her heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible big hand, making her almost unable to breathe.

"Come out! Wolf cub! You can't escape!" A rough voice echoed in the woods, full of pride and ridicule.

Alexander looked in the direction of the sound, and saw a tall figure, holding a musket with green smoke, slowly walking out of the woods.

"Is it you?!" Alexander gritted his teeth and said, he recognized this person, it was the leader of the demon hunters who led people to attack them, killed his father, and seriously injured him-the one-eyed dragon!

"Hehehe... Long time no see, wolf cub!" The one-eyed dragon grinned, raised the musket in his hand and pointed it at Alexander, "Didn't expect it? We meet again! This time, I want to see who can save you!"

"Don't even think about it!" Alexander roared, he no longer dodged, but rushed towards the muzzle of the gun.

"Bang!"

The one-eyed dragon pulled the trigger, a flash of fire, and the bullet, with the breath of death, shot towards Alexander's heart.
