Chapter 14 The End of the Demon Hunter

Chapter 14 The End of the Demon Hunter

The air was filled with gunpowder smoke and the smell of blood. The ginkgo forest, originally quiet and peaceful, was now stained red with blood, like a purgatory on earth.

Ryder watched the fleeing demon hunters vigilantly, the short bow in his hand was still tense, ready to shoot a fatal arrow at any time. He knew that although the battle was temporarily over, the crisis was far from over.

"Teacher Aideen, what should we do now?" Ryder retracted his gaze and looked at Aideen beside him with a hint of inquiry in his eyes.

Aideen's face was solemn. He looked around with deep eyes, as if he could see through every corner of the forest. "Those demon hunters are just the vanguard, and the real mastermind has not yet appeared." He said in a deep voice with a hint of worry in his tone.

"You mean..." Ryder's heart trembled. He knew that Aideen's worry was not unreasonable. These demon hunters were well-trained and well-equipped. It was obviously not something that ordinary villagers could organize. There must be a more powerful force behind them controlling all this.

"Be careful!"

Aideen's face suddenly changed, and he shouted loudly. At the same time, he flashed and threw Reid to the ground.

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out. Almost at the moment when Aideen's voice fell, a bullet with the breath of death flew over Reid's head and hit a ginkgo tree behind him, and wood chips flew.

"Damn! There are still fish that slipped through the net!" Reid was shocked and broke out in a cold sweat. If it weren't for Aideen's quick reaction, he would have been shot through the head by the bullet.

"Don't panic, kid, it's just a small role." Aideen said calmly. He helped Reid up and scanned the surroundings with sharp eyes, trying to find the enemy hiding in the dark.

"Come out! What kind of hero is it to hide and hide!" Reid roared, he pulled out the hunting knife at his waist and looked around vigilantly.

"Hehehe... As expected of a werewolf, you are quite alert." A sinister voice came from not far away, full of ridicule and disdain.

Ryder looked in the direction of the voice and saw a short and fat man in a black cloak walking out from behind a big tree. He held a strange-looking musket in his hand, the barrel of which was much longer than that of an ordinary matchlock gun, and there were some strange runes carved on the butt, exuding an evil breath.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking us?" Ryder asked in a deep voice. He felt a dangerous breath from this man, which was stronger and more evil than those demon hunters.

"Hehehe... Want to know who I am? Go to hell and ask the King of Hell!" The man in black laughed strangely, raised the musket in his hand, and aimed it at Ryder.

"Be careful! That's the mithril bullet of the Demon Hunter Church!" Aideen's face changed drastically and he exclaimed.

"Mithril bullets?" Ryder was shocked. He had heard from Aideen that mithril was an extremely rare metal that was fatal to werewolves. Bullets made of mithril could easily penetrate the werewolves' defenses, causing wounds that were difficult to heal.

"Go to hell! Beast!" The man in black pulled the trigger.
