Chapter 12 Sword, Claw and Fire

Chapter 12 Sword, Claw and Fire

In the shadow of the woods, more than 20 strong men holding torches were approaching Velia and others aggressively. They were wearing coarse linen clothes, with hunting knives on their waists. In addition to rusty axes and spears, they also had several terrifying matchlock guns in their hands! The black muzzles of the guns were like monsters that were ready to eat people, exuding a dangerous atmosphere.

"Who are you? Why did you break into our territory?" Ryder stepped forward and stood in front of Velia and Aideen, asking in a deep voice. There was a hint of vigilance in his tone. He knew that facing these demon hunters with firearms, even werewolves, could not be taken lightly.

"Stop talking nonsense! We are demon hunters from Oswick, and we are here to hunt evil monsters like you!" The one-eyed strong man in the lead said viciously. There was a hideous scar on his face, extending from his forehead to his chin, making him look even more ferocious. He waved the matchlock in his hand vigorously, and the muzzle spewed fire, showing that they were not bluffing.

"Demon Hunter?" Velia was shocked. She had heard this name from the villagers. It was said that they were hunters who specialized in hunting werewolves and other supernatural creatures. Their methods were cruel and terrifying. And now, these legendary demon hunters actually appeared in front of her, which made her feel an inexplicable fear.

"We are not monsters!" Velia couldn't help but retort, "We didn't hurt anyone!" Her voice trembled a little, but she forced herself to stay calm and not show cowardice in front of the enemy.

"Shut up! You witch!" The one-eyed strong man roared, "All werewolves are the embodiment of evil, and they all deserve to die! Shoot!"

With his order, several matchlocks spewed out flames, and the deafening gunshots broke the tranquility of the valley, and the choking smell of gunpowder filled the air. Reid was well prepared. The moment the gunshot sounded, he threw Velia to the ground and barely avoided the fatal bullet.

"Go!" Reid growled, dragged Velia to the ground and hid behind a thick ginkgo tree.

"Want to leave? Not so easy!" The one-eyed strong man grinned and commanded his men to surround Velia and others.

"Teacher Aideen, what should we do?" Velia asked anxiously, hiding behind the tree. The power of the matchlock made her terrified. She knew that even a strong man like Reid could hardly resist the attack of bullets.

"Don't panic, child." Aideen's voice was still calm, as if everything was under his control. "Although these demon hunters have some skills, they can't do anything to us. Reid, you protect Velia, I will deal with them!"

Before he finished speaking, Aideen's figure turned into a shadow and rushed into the demon hunters like lightning. He was a ghostly figure, and his speed was so fast that the witchers could not aim at him with their muskets.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The gunshots continued, but Aideen could always predict the trajectory of the bullets in advance and easily dodge them. He was like a tiger entering a flock of sheep. Wherever he went, the witchers fell to the ground and wailed.

"Damn it! Is this old guy a human or a ghost?" The one-eyed strong man was horrified when he saw this. He had never seen such agile skills, and the speed was simply not what humans could have.

"Don't be afraid! He is only one person. Let's go together. I don't believe we can't hit him!" A witcher bravely raised his musket and wanted to shoot Aideen.

"Be careful!" Vilia was hiding behind a tree and happened to see this scene. She exclaimed and wanted to warn Aideen.

"Swoosh!"

A feather arrow broke through the air and accurately hit the witcher's wrist. The musket fell to the ground with a dull sound.

"Who is it?!" the one-eyed man roared, looking around, trying to find the attacker.

"It's me!" Reid came out from behind the tree, holding an exquisite short bow in his hand, with a few feather arrows in his quiver, obviously prepared.

"You beast! How dare you attack us!" The one-eyed man was furious, holding up his musket, trying to shoot Reid.

"Bang!"

The gunshot rang out, but Reid was prepared, and dodged behind a big tree. The bullet hit the trunk, and wood chips flew.

"Your opponent is me!" Reid sneered, bent his bow and put an arrow on it, and a feather arrow flew straight to the one-eyed man's face with the sound of breaking through the air.
