Name: Beheflea

Vitality: F-rank

Discrete Parts: Abdomen

Mana Reserves: 100 Mu

Element: Nature

----------------------------------------

The beheflea lives in the coat of a behemoth and exists in a symbiotic relationship—actually mutualistic rather than parasitic. The beheflea does not feast on the behemoth's blood, but actually shares in the food of its host.

When a behemoth makes a kill or receives an injury, behefleas swarm to share in its meal or will restore injuries to the behemoth. The beheflea has just enough mana for a minor [Cure], but due to the massive number of behefleas in a colony, it is critical to take them out before launching attacks on the behemoth.

Stolen story; please report.

The behemoth species views this exchange of food for curative spells as beneficial and encourages the behavior. Sometimes, the behemoth even waits to eat second or will hunt prey specifically to feed its beheflea colony.

Only if the beheflea senses endangerment to its host's life in the midst of a battle, will they attack the target in a frenzy. The bites of the beheflea can take sizable chunks out of flesh and risk exsanguination for their victim if not eaten alive first.

If its abdomen is squished, then the beheflea will stop flying and flounder around on the ground. Though not yet dead, this renders the beheflea effectively harmless, so disabling behefleas rather than killing them can be a good strategy to quickly hamper the behemoth's ability to heal.

The beheflea is not a true flea, as is evidenced by its uncharasistic qualities such as wings and colonies led by a queen. Colloquially, they have earned the name beheflea due to the home that they have found within the behemoth's fur and the way that they swarm around it as if fleas were jumping.

Capable of flight, the beheflea can be observed anywhere in proximity to its hosts. Some will naturally fly some distance away. For this reason, behefleas are known as the harbinger to the behemoth.

All beheflea colonies have a queen which will remain within the behemoth's fur unless the host should die.
