"Seriously, what's wrong with you!" said Brea.
"Oh, come on now!" said Larisa.
"I was just joking. How about you, Yaeko?"
"Nah."
The three of us—Brea, Larisa, and me, of course—all share one thing in common: goofiness.
We don't have any problem with messing around with each other. Of course, with limits.
"Beautiful!"
"Yeah, i agree.
"So, can we go eat now?"
"Thanks for breaking the mood, Larisa."
After watching the beautiful scenery nearby the school, we went to eat and it was quite chaotic. I mean, Larisa was trying to eat my food for god sake.
----------------------------------------
"Aah, that was delicious!" said Larisa.
"Of course it was, you ate my food."
"Heh heh," said Larisa awkwardly.
I then replied with arms out, "Well then, next time!-"
"Ah, there's a new clothing store that opened and it's the new trend." said Larisa, changing the subject.
"Really?" said Brea.
"Don't change the subject!"
Larisa mentioned a new clothing store and showed us it and we entered.
"The clothing is unique and something I've never seen before. It's like it came from another world!"
"Yeah, if you, the "Fashion Queen", says so, then it must be that good."
"If you and Yaeko say so then so do i."
"Then you try out first, Brea!"
"Eh? A- Alright, but i don't know if-"
"Ah, it's fine! It's fine! Just go in."
Larisa pressured Brea to go in one of the dressing rooms and gave her a set of clothing to try out. I, on the other hand, decided to look around first before going wild with styles.
Brea came out the dressing room, dressed like a modern teenager, wearing embroidered sweatshirt and joggers. Almond beige? I can't recognize the color.
"Woah!" me and Larisa said.
"Your like a fashion model!"
"I agree."
"Thanks!" said Brea excitingly.
Those clothes suit her well. I should probably get a pair of those as well.
"Yaeko, you should try some of the clothes out as well!"
"Yeah, i will don't worry."
I went inside the dressing room next to the one Brea was in and started changing to a set i just picked.
The 70% off "Meki-Meki Maid" outfit set! I always wanted to try wearing a maid outfit and just...Just!-
"Yaeko, come out!"
Ah! I almost lost my mind there.
"Ta-da! How you like that!" I confidently said.
The classical Japanese manga maid outfit.
"...It doesn't suit you." said Brea.
"Yeah..." Larisa agreed.
"Weird. I though it would look good." i said as i quickly closed the curtains.
After trying many styles and trends, i realized they all look familiar. All the clothing in the store has familiarity to them. Even the structure and layouts of the store itself.
Well, with that aside, we paid for the clothes each of us picked and went our way home.
----------------------------------------
"Ahhh-hhaaaaahhh"
"Watcha yawnin' for?"
Larisa and her slang need a break...
"Boredom."
"Quiet guys, focus." Brea whispered.
"Congratulations, as most of you passed the magic test. For those who didn't, i gave out letters which tells you what your strengths are and what you need to work on." said the teacher's aide.
"Where's teach?" said one of the students.
"He's been ill for the past few days." she replied.
Sounds from outside the classroom were coming closer. Weapon unsheathing and quiet footsteps.
Yaeko, resting her chin on her hand, still felt bored.
The classroom door slammed open and a man in a hooded black overcoat came in.
"We are Kira and we will take out everyone."
"That's not what i said!" thought Yaeko, deeply annoyed.
A few more were behind him. They all had their sword ready at hand.
"I suggest you quietly- Awk!"
Jule swiftly pierced through the man but her attack was blocked in a unnatural way, shocking Jule.
"Heh, heh!"
She backed off immediately and cautiously stared at him.
"Ah, i heard of you. Your part of the Noreth family, aren't ya? Your family owns this magic academy but you can't use magic. So why are you in a magic school, you failure."
His cold statement struck Jule knowingly, as she clenched her teeth.
"I- I can't use magic." said one of the students.
The rest of the class realized it themselves and panicked.
"Hm, even i can't use magic. It's like they disabled it." thought Yaeko, while trying to utilize her magic.
"Yaeko, Larisa. I believe we should just comply and avoid any more damage." said Brea in a serious manner.
Jule was about to attack again but hesitated until he said, "Are you sure? You can attack me again but are you ready for the consequences?"
Jule felt like there was no other way going around it and attacking would mean death for everyone in here.
"Drop your sword!"
After a moment, she dropped her sword, submitting her defeat.
"Argh." grunted Jule, as she got kicked in the stomach and got put down on the floor.
"We're taking you all to the auditorium."
----------------------------------------
"We are keeping you hostage here until we get what were here for!" said the terrorist on the stage.
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
The one on stage is most definitely a lackey. The one on the left seems suspicious, he's wearing the same thing as the other terrorists but he just looks off. It looks like he's making his move.
After all that commotion, we all got tied up and put near each other in a circle inside the school's massive auditorium. There were other students here before us too.
Not so exciting. I mean, didn't this already happen in another show? Since it will be like that, i might as well make it more interesting and different.
"Enjoy staying!-"
"Um, excuse me! I need the restroom really, really badly!"
...
"Huh? Wait, first of all, why did you interrupt my speech!"
"Dude, i need to go wee wee. I can't do it here, I'm a girl!"
The frustration and shock on his face is hilarious.
"W- Wait Yaeko. Your provoking him too much here! Anymore and he might do something really, really bad!"
"Yeah, hold it in!"
Brea and Larisa both whispered to me but i pretended to ignore them.
"Yo, dude! Did you not hear me? Are you deaf?"
He looks like he's about to explode any second now.
One of the bandits came towards him and whispered something in his ear while looking at me.
"You will be escorted."
----------------------------------------
I noticed that the bandit who was chatting with the guy I interrupted is now trailing me as I make my way to the restroom. Meaning, it's just us two.
What I'm trying to say is that this is the perfect chance for me to!-
"Go in then. What you waiting for?"
Oh, we're here.
"I'm going in. You are on watch out, right?" I turned around and said.
He just stared down at me and said, "Go in."
"Yeah.."
I opened the door, went in, and closed the door behind me.
----------------------------------------
"What's taking her so long? Is she taking a shit or what." mumbled the bandit.
"Tsk! I should've just let her get killed."
"I'm done. Can you help me unlock the door? I'm struggling."
"Huh, why so? Just get out yourself!"
He opened the door.
"Argh!"
Kira kicked him inside, and pierced his heart with ice spikes.
"How you like that- Ahem. Yes, indeed i am finished." said Kira.
"Well, now that that's done, let's run the show." mumbled Kira, while stretching her arms.
Kira sensed an object quite far in the school, assuming it was what kept magic disabled in the school. It was hidden well but not for long since now it has been located.
"That shouldn't be a problem. Jule should be able to stop them as she has no disadvantages." thought Kira.
----------------------------------------
Kira walks around the hallways and haven't found anyone.
"And those bandits looked quite familiar. I wonder where i saw them." thought Kira.
"Ahhhh!"
Kira turned around and blocked the sudden attack with a sword.
"Heh, heh, heh!"
He backed off and introduced himself, "I go by Lusto, as i get quite "excited" in fights." He wore a red velvet tailcoat similar to the imperial officers who were close to Reyna.
"He's half-clothed? Doesn't he realize his pants are completely different to his top? "His" jacket is cool though." thought Kira.
Lusto swiftly charged at Kira confidently, attacking at all angles. Reminding Kira of when Mob Boss fought.
"Ha, Ha..Ha ha ha! How amusing!"
"Your so unlucky to encounter me! Poor you, to die here!"
He laughed like a maniac. Reminding Kira of when Sherwind fought.
"This couldn't get anymore perverted..." thought Kira.
----------------------------------------
"Argh!"
"W- Wait, please spare me!- Argh!"
Azura feels bored killing all the terrorists surrounding the school, both outside and inside.
She sighed and mumbled, "These low lives have nothing on us."
"Oh, i haven't checked that room yet. Can't be missing stuff."
She opened a classroom door and heard panting. Without caution, she went in and looked to her side.
"...What are you doing on the floor panting?" she said to the half-naked man laying down covered in blood.
"Gah! Huff, huff."
"Your an imperial officer, right? What are terrorists doing in this school?"
"They, huff, are taking the students to the auditorium and-"
"The rooftop. They're gonna put them on the rooftop and threaten to publicly execute them if the school authorities doesn't compensate."
The man looked at her with a shocked face as he noticed her analytical abilities.
"You sure are in pain." said Azura, staring down on him.
"Oh well, your gonna die anyways since your a background character." said Azura in a cold manner.
Rethinking her decision to leave him here, she gives him a chance to survive and says, "How about this, I'll heal you and you will join me-"
"Hell no!"
...
Azura stayed silent and faintly smiled.
"Huh? W- What are you doing? Wait- Argh!"
"Aaargh!"
The faint sounds of pain can be heard outside the "empty" classroom.
----------------------------------------
"what are they going to do to us?" whispered one of the students in a scared tone.
Jule thought that there is nothing they can do. That's it's all over.
"I- I'm scared!"
"Quiet down there!" said one of the terrorists.
Jule's realized her overthinking isn't doing any better and snapped out of it. Then, she came up with a plan.
She stood up and confronted the terrorists surrounding them, "Everyone, shouldn't we do something about this?!", said Jule as she's standing her ground.
"What happened to the fire that's deep inside of us? Did it extinguish just like that?"
"Where's the pride you mages have? Don't we have a duty to accomplish?!"
"...But your not a mage. Your just a swordsman who ended up in our class." said one of the students.
Her persuasion failed and the odds were zero to none. Jule couldn't think of anything to say that might work.
"Kill her."
The surrounding terrorists heard his command and held their rifles up, aiming at Jule.
"JUST FIGHT DAMN IT!"
As the terrorists were about to pull the trigger, the roof windows cracked and then shattered. Shards of glass were raining down from above. Time felt slow for Jule.
"Ah!" said Jule faintly, astonished at what she is seeing above her.
Figures wearing black hooded overcoats more similar to Kira but simpler. Just by that, Jule can tell them apart from the terrorists.
"Ha ha ha! It's showtiiime!" said Azura tunefully.
Azura stood proudly in the middle of the upcoming clash and said, "We are Kira..."
"Uh, what else did she say?" said Azura, talking to herself.
Many followers of Kira has surrounded the whole auditorium, equalling to at least 50 people. They charged at the enemy, the terrorists, under the command of Azura.
----------------------------------------
"Ha, ha ha ha ha!" screamed Lusto.
Lusto then backed off as Kira stood there menacingly.
"Blocking every attack of mine at ease without even looking around is crazy. Not only that, but i can't seem to see her face. It's quite unclear, like as if a dark fog is covering it." thought Lusto.
"I should just finish it o- Awk! Wha- What is that aura?!"
Lusto felt fear for the first time in his life. Kira's presence making him hallucinate the immense energy surrounding Kira.
"Not only swordmanship bu- But also magic?!" said Lusto out loud.
Lusto still shocked to his core, dodged all incoming mana strikes.
Kira smirked and took a step towards Lusto. Then lifted the sword up to shoulder level, aiming straight at Lusto and placed her index and middle finger together on the sword, sliding them from it's rain guard to it's edge. Energy emerged. Flowing gold strings, slowly elevating. An aura of now surrounded thick energy strings that gives a hint of "death is near". This is Kira's aura.
"What is that magic?!" thought Lusto.
"Is that even magic...?" said Lusto, raising his guard down.
"Time to run!" thought Lusto, as he takes off running the moment he realizes what's about to happen.
Kira then flash steps behind Lusto and proceeds to quietly say, "I...Am...Getting quite bored."
"What is she saying, ancient spells?"
"No, i can't make it out alive. My instincts are screaming out. Ah, what can i even do at this point. I've lived my life in regret anyways." Lusto teared up.
Kira then pierces his chest and a ray of gold aura emerges from his body, creating an internal burst of energy inside his body.
"Aaaarghh!!" he screamed, as he disintegrates.
"Aaahhh! That's one more down." said Kira out of character while stretching.
"Magic uses mana and mana uses energy. Just by manipulating my energy, i can create bursts without the opponent's awareness activating when making sudden movements."
"Well, now that's all done with."
----------------------------------------
"Aaarghh!"
"H- Aaaaargh!"
"Aaugh!"
Azura stood there analyzing her surroundings.
"The majority of terrorists have died, leaving a mere group of 7 terrorists stationed at each intersection. And there's that guy, wearing what the imperial officers wear, but he looks very unusal. As if he is confident. Looking at his body language, he seems like the mastermind behind this invasion." thought Azura, planning ahead.
She sees Jule holding back against them and goes to her.
"Aaargh!" said the terrorist, dropping dead.
"Gah!" gasped Jule.
"I heard a few things about you." says Azura while holding back the terrorists attacking her.
"Who are you...?" questioned Jule while killing off a few terrorists attacking her.
"You failed to persuade your classmates but this time-"
"I don't think I can do this. Honestly, it's just..."
"That should be the least of your worries." thought Azura.
"Jule. This is the only chance you have you know. People are lucky to get a second chance." said Azura, persuading Jule.
"She's right. Chances are lucky. Luck is chance. However, once an event has happened, it's already done."
Jule took a deep breath and reorganized her thoughts.
"Everyone! I know what I've done was of no value! But please listen just this once! It's either your life or theirs, the terrorists! Pick up any weapon usable from the floor and protect yourself from the terrorists! The ones who have gold patterns are not the enemy!" said Jule in a strong tone.
With a moment of silence, the students woke up from fear, picked up whatever they can to use as a weapon and proceeded to charge at the enemy.
"Except there are only swords. Well, that should be enough." thought Azura.
"Go, now! There should be a guy wearing the uniform imperial officers wear. Follow him." said Azura, turning to Jule after blocking an incoming attack.
Jule heard and replied, "Yes!"
----------------------------------------
"I don't know who that was, but i thank her truly," Jule said as she chased after the man Azura had directed her to.
Jule realized that her surroundings were completely different and she had lost sight of him.
"It's as if I'm underground." mumbled Jule.
She heard some footsteps and a few figures showed up.
"Who do we have here?"
Out of caution, Jule pulled her sword out and went into guard.
"Terrorists? What are they doing down here?" thought Jule, confused.
"Jule Noreth, the black sheep of the Noreth family. Let's see what you got!"
The terrorists charged at Jule one by one, but she managed to kill them all.
"What" she put her sword back inside her sheath.
She continued walking forwards and came across a red-glowing object laid on a stone pillar not so far away.
"What is glowing?"
Jule went to it and said, "A lock?"
She picked up the lock and examined it for a few moments, only to be left with utter confusion.
"This doesn't make any sense..."
"I sure can help."
Jule turned to see the woman behind her. It was Azura.
"It's you again?!" Jule said, surprised as she sheathed her sword.
"Yeah. Anyways, think of it as a riddle. If a lock had the ability to dampen magic in a certain area, what would you need in order to deactivate it?"
Azura knows something Jule doesn't and is hinting at it.
"Dampen magic? As in decreasing? I thought magic was completely dispelled?"
"It depends on the individual." replied Azura.
"And to answer your question, we'd need to find a key."
"Excellent answer. As expected of the daughter of Noreth."
"I trust you. You've helped me before and i don't know how i am going to repay you."
"Great to hear. Let's get going."
----------------------------------------
The skies are barely visible. A layer of thick red mana covering the academy and its campus is suppressing magic.
"The atmosphere is quite beautiful. And When is he going to bring them up here?" said the man on the academy's rooftop.
"If your talking about the students, sorry to say but your plan will fail."
The man heard a voice behind him and turned around, unfazed.
"Who are you?"
