Susan the Succubus

Susan the Succubus

Death stood in the rainy city of Portland. Everything was dreary, and when she looked around she saw nothing but miserable faces. She walked into a nearby bar and was met with much of the same sight. A bunch of lowlifes sat around with drinks in their hands, empty looks on their faces.

"Ah, Thana." A woman, Susan, with navy blue hair and addax horns smiled as she walked towards Death. Her red eyes glistened with mischief, "Come downstairs. It's much nicer."

"I highly doubt that." Death replied coldly. Susan ground her teeth together as her gaze drifted over to the lowlives staring at them. Death followed it and sighed. "Fine, let's go." They retreated to the bar's basement. It was much larger with more people. The rooms were extravagant. Beautiful women could be seen, walking with desolate-looking men.

"As you can tell, I am thriving quite well in the human world." Susan smirked. They slipped into an office and took a seat on one of the couches placed in the middle of the room. The woman crossed her legs and stared into Death's eyes. "I am assuming you are here to collect my debt."

"It's good to know you aren't stupid." Death said flatly, her eyes did not stray from the woman's. "Susan, I allowed you to live back on Earth because you know how to feed without killing and how to interact with various creatures of Life and Death. Something that many of your kind are incapable of."

"Rightly so. Other creatures are below us." She smirked, "I just know how to save face." Death scoffed at her.

"You're the only option I have for the moment." Death crossed her arms, "Pack your things, You're going to teach at a new school Lorelei, and I have set up."

Susan burst into laughter, "Me? A teacher?" Susan reached over to grab a bottle of wine and a glass from the coffee table in front of her. She poured herself a drink, "That's quite the stretch, even for you. Why make a school with," she gagged slightly, "A fae?" Death clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth and looks away from Susan, annoyed.

"You aren't in a position to question my decisions." Death stood up and leaned forward, her face only inches away from Susans. "You owe me too much and I," Death snapped her fingers, "can take it away just like that. Do you understand me?" Susan nodded. Death pulled away to walk over to Susan's desk. She idly started to look through the papers she found there. "I'm glad we have an understanding. I would hate for all this just to disappear."

"Alright." Susan stood up and grabbed the papers from Death's hands, "I get it. I'll be there."

"I'll give you more information when I want to." Death told her sternly. "And if I hear you disrespect Lorelei in any way again, I will have your head. I'll take it myself." Death glared at Susan until she shifted uncomfortably, avoiding eye contact as she nodded nervously. "Good." Death smoothed out her clothes before she snapped her fingers, fading from the room instantly.

The wine glass in Susan's hand shattered, and she let out a groan. The door opened. Mila, a young girl, walked through hesitantly. Her reddish-brown hair was in a messy bun and her dark brown eyes looked exhausted.

"What's wrong, Ms. S?" Mila asked with a curious look. "That woman looked really scary. where'd she go?" She looked around the room. Susan walked up to her to grab her hands. The girl stared up at her, concerned, "Ms. S, uh, what's wrong?"

"I have to leave. I don't know for how long." Susan sighed.

Mila gasped in terror. "You can't leave!! Not with everything that's been happening! What if he comes after me again?!" Mila cried out. Susan held her tightly, one of her arms cradling the girl's head and her hand placed carefully on Mila's temples.

"He won't, Mila." Susan told her soothingly. Her fingertips glow dimly red. Mila calmed down with the touch, her tears stopped slowly. "I'll take you with me." Mila's eyes fluttered shut as Susan massaged her head. Susan tilted Mila's unconscious face towards her and leaned towards her lips. Red energy exchange between their mouths. Mila smiled faintly, her cheeks and ears turned bright red. Her body went limp as the energy died out between them. Susan carried her unconscious body to the couch and set her down gently. " I need to fill my appetite. Stupid silly human." Susan smirked.
