He remembered what it was like to impersonate the gods. The rush, it felt like it was meant to be. He knew he was special. He knew exactly what he was doing. The others were just jealous, they couldn't reach his aspirations.
He was born into this world to lead, to take what was his by birthright. He remembered the first oni he had met before he was turned. They were smart, could see the greatness that dwelled inside him, just like his followers. They offered him a life of infinite power. A life without end, where he could gather followers endlessly. He all but drooled at the prospect of power that strong. He could conquer life and death itself. He staged his death becoming a martyr only to rise again just three days later as a demon.
His new body was a masterpiece. It ran faster, healed faster. It was much more durable and more perceptive than his human body ever was. It came with a price, one that he was more than willing to make. Oni had to consume human flesh. For generations, they snuck out from Adrian's rule to feed. To survive. They were brought back, locked away. Feared for their strength.
"How long has it been?" A monstrous demon asked.
"A few decades." Cult replied, less demonic but a monster nonetheless. He had two sheep-horns, one shattered in half. He wasn't tall or muscular like the other oni in the room. He was lean, better looking.
"I bet you feel proud of yourself." The other oni mumbled. He had gruesome teeth and antlers coming from his head.
"I usually do." Cult hummed. "Unlike you giant idiots, I know how to keep those moronish humans hooked."

Another oni from the back spoke up, "You tricked those humans into thinking you were a demigod. It couldn't have been that hard." Cult laughed outright at the oni. The rest glared at him, unamused.
"Don't give me those looks, you ugly brutes." Cult shrugged and crossed his arms with a smug look on his face. "I'm just smarter than everyone else."
"You aren't smarter than Death." said a blue oni.
"I believe I am." Cult boasted. The blue oni walked up to him and grabbed him by the collar.
"You punk, you're all talk and no bite!" The blue oni spat in his face. Cult smirked as his gaze locked with the other oni's, whose pupils shrink.
"Put me down. Now." Cult commanded simply. The blue oni dropped him. Cult used the blue oni's shirt to clean his face, then looked around the room at the rest of the group. "I am more powerful than all of you ugly, fat idiots."
Cult stood up on a table and held up a finger to the angry oni yelling at him. They went silent; all their pupils were small. "Do you want to know why I am better than all of you?" He asked with a smile on his face, his gaze drifted over the crowd.
"Because no one, I mean no one, can command a group such as I." Cult's eyes gleamed with darkness, his smile turned more twisted. "Because I not only use fear, but I fill these people with the false hope they desire."
Cult placed his hand on the blue oni's chest, "Unfortunately, you idiots only respond to fear. So with that note." Cult shoved his hand into the chest cavity of the oni. He began to laugh as the oni started screaming in terror and pain; a black tar-like substance fell from the body.
"Fear me." Cult sang. The rest of the oni could only watch in horror.
"Now I can give oni hope, but you need to believe in me. Listen to me. Follow all of my commands." Cult utters, the blue oni gasped and begged for him to stop. "I'm sorry, excuse me, but where's my bite?" Cult ripped its heart out with one vicious pull, and the body dropped to the floor.
Cult's arm was covered in black tar; in his hand was a giant black heart. Cult put the heart to his lips, then, without hesitation, took a giant bite out of it. His teeth ripped through muscles and tendons, a black tar spilled down his chin and onto the ground. As he chewed, he walked forward. He scanned the room, then he smiled as he chewed and swallowed.
Cult took another bite as he said. "I presume you would all like to know what my plan is?" Some of the oni in the crowd shouted out. "Well, sit down, boys and girls. I've got quite the news. I've recently met with Death and Adrian…" he smiled evilly. "We'll be back on Earth before you know it." The oni roared.
